Oh Desker, Reader, can you believe your eyes? Rub them again, it will not change the picture. Card making. CHRISTMAS card making. Slow, sometimes painful, but it is happening. And none so smug as me, I can tell you!
There's glue and glittery snow. There's Christmas trees. There's a bauble image (to be discarded, I think). There's a stag. Far right there's an almost full mug of coffee. You can see that my modus operandi is unchanged. Get it all out, look at it. Start work and find there's no room and everything is in the way. Hey ho. You can see the new chair too...it has arms. I feel very posh. It's actually too low, but I'll overcome that soon. The addition of a cushion would do it, but it turns out that I don't sit still enough and it gets all bunched up and irritable. Oh wait, the irritable bit - that may be me. So, come on you lot whether you're still loving the autumn and not thinking about Christmas yet, show us how your desk is reflecting your seasonal thoughts. Good ideas for gifts and cards always welcome!

I'm feeling smug too for much the same reason but am not getting glitter out this early (in the season, not day)! I hope your irritable cushion behaves soon! that made me smile.

With Halloween over I plan getting all my props put away then slowly sorting through all my Christmas stuff which is all the stores here already so you can snag it all up super early if you like I think I'll puck up some of that snow fluff for something ... i font know what yet but I'm sure it will get used up

Morning Julia, good to see you back in form. Hope you will share some finished cards next week.
Try a 3" foam padding on your chair, it might be more stable.
Hugs Chris.

Well done for making a start on your Christmas cards, Julia! Anything "slow and painful" would defeat the purpose for me (unless it's part of my learning curve) so I will be buying (in fact, I've already bought!) my Christmas cards this year. Truth be told, I just can't be bothered (but psst, don't tell anyone!) I'd better go and put my post together now. Glad to see you're back in action full speed!

Oh - Christmas isn't going to sneak up on you unexpectedly this year, Julia - enjoy all your seasonal crafting (and your new chair! - I bought one recently for my daughters student house from Ikea and liked it so much I went back and bought one for myself as well - lovely duck egg green shade to match my craft room!! :-))

Happy WOYWW. I am not smug at all, except for being proud of getting back into sketching again. No sign of Xmas in my craft room (unless you count the large box of festive stash and CD-roms on the floor!). I am planning to start wrapping pressies this week (always have lots in the wardrobe in the spare room ready for whenever) - and I suppose I will make a few cards eventually. Ideas for pressies - Tesco has half price beauty gifts at the moment. I bought several of a very nice Maybelline make up set - ideal for teenagers (and will probably keep one myself). Re. chair - I have a fantastic support cushion on mine, which I got from Amazon, and raises me up, as well as being very comfy. It does not move around, as it is quite heavy. Ali x #11

Isn't it funny how 1st Nov seems to panic us into making Christmas cards? I'm in full Christmas production now although some bits I can't share. My cards need more inspiration yet though hehe.
Have a great week.

Wonderful desk share Julia so happy there's some smug cardmaking going on in spite of the aches, you're very game having glitter loose, I find I always spill in these days! Put it in paste and glittery glue, no mess!
Well that's the theory, happy WOYWW!!!
I'm late in linking as did post hours ago, as it's after 7pm here. I just plain forgot when it was time.

Wow! Superb desk!
Proves that half decent crafters all have the same modus operandi - looks pretty much like my desk and I am sure there will be others out there in WOYWW land.
Have a great crafting week

I am a "push back" girl too - and things often fall off the opposite end of my table! Good to see you cracking on with your C cards - unlike my dear sis - I have no idea what I will do this year! x Jo

Woohoo - I've arrived again.

November - means it's almost WOYWW crop time! YAY!

LOL @ irritable cushions.... heheh...yes, definitely you and not the cushion.

And why discard the bauble image, seems quite nice to me?

Hi Julia, you do make me laugh! But I agree there is little more annoying than a scrunched up cushion. That glitter snow looks interesting. Like the stag too. And those Christmas trees. Have a lovely week, love and hugs, Shaz xx#22

There is glitter about already on my desk, but I have to be honest I much prefer mine encapsulated in glue. I also boughttiny polystyrene snowballs this year. Now, they don't get everywhere(I'm fibbing)!!! Happy WOYWW!!xx

Some great crafting going on - I really love that stag, especially against the tartan. I can't get my head around Christmas stuff yet but I know I really must get on with it. Keep up the good work!

The wondrous evidence of a creative mind at work. I haven't started my Christmas projects, but will soon begin. Blessings!

Hi Julia, it's too uncanny! I have Christmas trees on my desk too this week. No glittery snow though. And I always need a cushion on my chair too - that's the trouble with being vertically challenged!! The bauble looks lovely to me - it would be a shame to toss it, I think. I'm still loving autumn but I simply must catch up on Christmas cardmaking or it will be off to the card shop for me this year. Hope you are well, if irritable, and that you will have a lovely week. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

Wonderful to see card making going on! I LOVE glitter, but every time I use it; it's so messy that I remember why it sits unloved on the shelf. I like your Christmas ornament, you shouldn't throw it out. Have a Wonderful Wednesday and terrific week. LisaDV #37

I'm thinking now it's November it's time to work on Christmas. You've got further than me. I've got things out, but not really started. Hopefully this week will see more Christmas on my desk.

Creativity does tend to get a bit messy- especially glitter. Love the holder to catch the glitter. You'll be well ahead with your card making.

So glad you have a start on your Christmas cards! I have been trying to do a few each month so I won't have so many in December. Have a wonderful week, Julia! #39

Good for you getting started on those Christmas Cards - something I REALLY need to do myself! I always leave it so late - even into December when I suddenly realize how close Christmas is! Lindart #41

Good morning Julia. Oh how great it is to have a new chair to sit in......and I haven't finished one Christmas card yet. Just as always I will be so far behind with them and I have my sister is the one I put time aside to make one for. Never fails where does the time in the day go. I like the glittery items on your desk.. I'm in no mood for many messes. Seems my days are not really mine lately, scheduled insurance man to come in a few minutes to meet with both of us. I had that last week for my health insurance. Nothing good just inform of us of more $$$ due. Costs here keep rising higher and higher. Just glad I am retired. Maybe will do photo cards this year, run off labels, form letter of the year, easy peasy. Would like to plan a trip and be unavailable sometimes. !!!! I will work at being in a better mood by days end !! Sorry. Have a great week and take time for YOU.

Julia, I can't wait to see your Christmas cards--I might make a few myself this year! But first I think I need a class or workshop to give me a little boost. Happy Wednesday. Sandy Leigh #44

Hoping your glitter rubs off on me. I did come across a page in my Documented Life Project Diary for 2014 (on desk but forgot to mention in post) with a possible simple candle card I might use as a starting point but as for starting!!!!! BJ#48

love the stag - kind of fits with my deer theme this week, I was proud of myself for making the effort to remember the days then ended up on the beach with the dog - 20 degree celcius and I totally forgot I was supposed to be desking...ah well I arrived late to the party but at least I arrived, -regarding the seat:desk height ratio dilemma - you could get your bum plumped - or get a pair of those cushioned pants - less slippage/ wrinkling? hmm maybe cut a bit off your desk legs???? Cannot believe I did not comment - what made me check I have not a clue. Apologies!
Maybe it was because of all the signs that you are doing Christmas that got to me or maybe it was yesterday and I had the most horrendous back pain - banging against the headboard sort.
Now you make me feel like getting the diecut machine out and making a start on something but think I might rest this whole day just in case.
