Tuesday already...

The weather is incredibly unpredictable.  I am already missing the constant sunshine and the surety of getting laundry hung out and dried on the same day.  Man, I'm so domestic.

This, taken at about 7.25 this morning needed a flash.  Shame huh.  Still, it's only my first cup of the day and I'm already getting stuff done (sort of), so it's all good.  The crochet you can see is the last of the squares to be joined vertically to create long rows.  The joining of the horizontals will happen as winter approaches and I have a need to be buried under shed loads of growing blanket!  It's an ambitious first crochet project. A blanket for our bed.  It may not be perfect, but my goodness, Mr D has already come to realise how much he loves it.  (I told him, see.)  The shot is actually so that I can take part in Elizabeth's comforting blog hop T is for Tuesday.  I love the idea that around the world we are all bound by drinking a nice cup of something as we go about our day!

Talking of going about the day.. Mr Dunnit has dispensed with my help this morning, so I'm trying to get on.  This card, propped on my ipad stand (which is actaully a book stand..) is actually hiding a copy of the new autumn workshop schedule in which my name appears frighteningly often.  I thought that before I get to be Van Driver of The Day, I might attempt to make some sense of the commitment I made to creating workshop samples.  In advance.  People, that whiney last post...the list just gets longer, but really, it's OK..no-one minds the work as long as there's some time to play, huh.
Happy Tuesday.

I just wished I lived close enough to you to attend one of the workshops. But since a great ocean separates us, I guess I'll just sit here and wish. Hope your day is a good one!

I'm with Glenda, and would come to a workshop if distance wasn't an issue! When stuff piles up on me I make lists and at least get some satisfaction from putting a big fat line through the ones I have completed! LOL

I am still impressed that you have chosen to make the blanket in rows now, and columns this winter. By the time the blanket is finished, we may find you piled under it slaving away or sleeping away. Can see both in my mind.

Love the card, even though I'm not much of a card maker (OR stamper). Is there hope for me, anyway? Happy T today!

Being domestic is about as good as it gets in my book! I don't hang my laundry out to dry (to many birds about in my neck of the woods, if you get my drift) but I totally love the smell of the air in my tee shirts so I appreciate your efforts for sure.
A hand crocheted blanket for you bed! that is fantastic. My first one I made could have covered two! --I got carried away is an understatement.
Happy T to you today!!

Cute card. Yes that great big ocean can cause a lot of green monsters here in the States. LOL
I have two crocheted blankets/spreads that my Mom made. One with yarn and one with thread. I don't use them because the dog sleeps with us too. When we are once again down to the two of us I'll get them out and use them.

Hi Julia,

Now that is one really big task a blanket for you bed, you are ambitious. I am a coffee person and only drink tea when I am out and can't get decent coffee.

I have created a few postcards a week or so back and I am just getting around to posting them off, I would love to send one to you, just because, could you send me your snail mail address please.

elizabethanneharms@yahoo.com

I am posting my blog early due to the fact that I am at work and unable to do it at home tomorrow as I won't be home until early evening. I don't want to be late LOL

Nope, sorry still rather have some cooler weather. If it does rain will happily use the dryer. Though we only get a few drops then back to searing heat so drying washing is still fine.

Very clever your crocheting, I just cannot manage anything that involves wool it seems so in awe of your new blankie.

I am still crocheting my blanket, in Aran wool, and it is designed to get bigger as the weather changes and winter arrives. It is already quite heavy and there is a long way to go, so I reckon I will be able to turn the heating in the winter down by at least 2 degrees. I suspect your workshops are far too far away from me, otherwise I might turn up. I shall have to wait for the WOYWW get together next year. Have a good day and see you in the morning. xx Maggie

Sounds like you have been keeping busy busy! The card is just adorable and what a cozy blanket that will be once it's finished. My mom loves to crochet, she's tried to get me to several times but I found it a little boring. Glad to see you are enjoying it though! Have a great day :)

Still not taken with crochet, following my one dismal attempt! So good on you I say - and of course Mr D wouldn't dare say he didn't like it (or want it on the bed!) ... he knows his place..

Glad it seems you have your internet back, suppose this means I'll need to wake at silly o'clock to link up this week's desk!

Stopped by for a visit from T for Tuesday. I love to crochet, but since it is hot and summer here, I'll have to wait several months to start up again. Looks like you have a great start to your blanket!

girlfriend you have a lot on your plate so don't do like I do and forget to stop and smell the roses along the way! My class load has increased and I am thinking of dropping a few that seem to lack attendees and do some that I like to do! Maybe that will get rid of the whiners and get so folks in that like to do fun stuff!! Have fun creating today!
