What's on your Workdesk? Wednesday 820

My desk and mojo have benefitted from a recent holiday. I've tidied up a bit and set to making.  First of all an ATC for my monthly swap with Karen. How's this for seriously worrying....I made an ATC based on the theme of 'sunshine' and was pretty pleased with myself..done and dusted and ready to post before the end of the month. Hurrah! Well, it would be a hurrah, except when I checked through my 'to do' list this morning, it says...ATC Chicken....a theme that I chose for February because before I went on holiday I had a great idea. Obviously that's gone. As for making up an entirely different theme - absolutely no defence! This was taken last evening, am ashamed that I don't have a mug of anything with a biscuit on my lovely board, and depressed that the box of creme eggs at the back there is actually a container for receipts - my aunt and I have been collaborating on selling some of her fabulous clothes on Vinted and the receipts for the postage/delivery companies live in there till I receive confirmation of delivery. It's a system, and it works for me, which is more than I can say for my memory!
Join us for a glimpse of other desks and really fascinating works in progress, meet at Sarah's . That will be grand.

Ah, I think we all need systems as we get older to aid memory, I certainly do. Defo an electronic calendar gal with reminders galore then walk into a room for something and totally forget, oh my word. chicks and sunshine are both yellow btw. Hugs bj#6

Couldn’t you have found a chicken to put on top? Cadbury’s CrΓ¨me eggs mmm! I have managed to avoid them so far. I keep meaning to say “No thank you” when my husband offers me chocolate in the evening. But I haven’t managed it yet! Great idea with the clothes. Happy WOYWW. Angela #15

I think the biggest lie we can tell ourselves these days is “Oh, I’ll remember that”…..I have to write everything down but it did make me laugh that you forgot the aide memoire as well! Maybe the chicken can be for the next ATC swap.
Sorry to hear you’ve got a bad cold, it’s travelling on planes, they’re germ factories! Hope it doesn’t hang around too much longer. And well done for getting your auntie to start parting with some of her stuff, that was a mighty task xx
Hugs LLJ 5 xx

Hi Julia, yes I'm late been watching the felt club. Pleased to see you. Lucky you, hope you had a good time though coming back might have been a bit of a let down but the weather should improve soon. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x14x

LOL! That is such a ME thing to do. Good luck with the chicken. Maybe you can use one of LLJs knit chickens, in photo, as a design element? I can't get away from them, as knitting emotional support chickens seems to be a thing at the moment... Errands then knitting yesterday so late but still Happy WOYWW!

Oh your post made me smile....so much the same things going on with daily life ! Great ideas but no follow thru/remembering and quickly on to something else. I quit the ATC exchange with friends/groups etc...MAIL service is terrible and 1/2 never arrive.
I had planned on partaking this week but weather, no computer working (3 towns but they get it reconnected0 then yesterday I FORGOT. Have a wonderful week. Miss our weekly chats but ..time gets away.

Well done on the completed ATC anyway! I do a swap of 4 ATCs each month with a friend - I am behind already this year - I still have to do January! Good to 'see' you again! Happy WOYWW! Susan #10

Thanks for all your lovely comments Julia. I did chuckle at your slight forgetfulness you mention here.wait till you are my age!! The number of times I go to my sewing room and can't remember why I m there .... Ah well, I always find something to interest me there and eventually it all comes back to me.🀣 Have a good weekend.x x Jo 🌈

I agree Julia a holiday does you good, certainly benefit for me with my few days with my sister. Love your cheery ATC even if was meant to be a chicken πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ that’s the sort of thing I’d do IF I did ATC swaps which I don’t. Only made arcs for WOYWW! Happy belated WOYWW, Shaz in Oz. X
