What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 742

Well, this will set you up for the day. It'll make you glad it's not yours. It'll help you to appreciate your attitude to clearing up in between things. It'll relax you when you approach your stash, knowing you can actually find something. I've just realised, I'm doing a public service! You're welcome.
This taken at about six yesterday, isn't the sunshine lovely. I had decided to start tidying up but got totally distracted. Made an ATC that I've been mulling over for a long time. Frankenstein theme. In the end, I just sat down and did it, but it's amazing how many times I thought about how hard it would be! And...I didn't think to photograph it before I put it in the envelope and trotted it to the postbox. Doh! Ah well. Then, instead of tidying up, I got stamping again...and now it's all waiting for my return for a lot of fussy cutting! The only thing that isn't in the photo that was on the desk is the empty glass that I used to hold the brushes I was using to apply Distress Oxides to the ATC. I have actually taken them to the kitchen and washed them properly already. I know, I'm untidy but not neglectful. Here's a close up of my I inability to be tidy..
Don't fret, the brush you can see was unused. Good shot of the layers though, huh. So now gentle desker, it's up to you. I will take on board your tidy and organised spaces, but I cannot make any promises...

You’re early again! I think you could possibly do an archaeological dig of your desk, the stratigraphy and layers could be analysed to work out the eras of crafting! You’re not alone in sending things off before photographing, I’ve done that many times….

Hello Julia. It's so annoying when you forget to take a photograph, I guess we have all done it. I love an untidy craft desk, it means someone is working! I am having problems fitting in everything and I really didn't buy that much when away. Happy WOYWW, Angela #2

Yikes! Did not expect to find your post active, but now I don’t have to think about it in the AM! I am forever forgetting to take to one photo in a series that will tie it all together. Always! It the throes of creativity who can blame us? Not each other lol!
Happy Woyww a bit early! I’ll be hopping tomorrow …

Wow, didn’t expect you to have published already! I’m nice and early now. Yes, we’ve all forgotten to take photos before sending. I’m glad you’re as pernickety as me for cleaning brushes. The sunshine in your photo was lovely.
Take care and happy WOYWW

I thought I would be early and this is the latest I have been since FOREVER!! I have a question. There is something that actually looks like a clear stamp on the lower right side of the first photo, but also looks like eye glasses. I'm confused as to what it is. You have more layers on your desk, but I have a bigger mess. Nice public service, though.

You are not the first who has sent something without photographing it. The sad thing in my case is, the recipient often doesn't either!

I did see that you'd published just before I went to bed, but had already scheduled and decided to leave it... I am always sending off cards without photographing them....My space is unused rather than tidied afterwards.... Happy WOYWW

I'm chuckling at Jan's comment. I've always been fond of archaeology ;-) You cant be creative and tidy so please dont worry we would all love to come and dig our way through the layers.
Hugs,

You know, as I turned off my PC just gone midnight, I thought, "no she won't have posted so early again this week" How wrong I was! Honestly too hot to care these days, even fell out of the diamond league in Duolingo and can't wait to get into Asda this week as it will be lovely and cool in there. Then a layered desk, isn't that akin to cardmaking - layering? Sorry lost the plot in the heat. BJ to hot #12

Activity is better than a tidy desk for sure so I shouldn't worry. The heat hasn't helped to encourage tidiness either, well that's my excuse Lol! Wishing you a very happy and productive woyww, Angela x14x

Goood morning Julia 😊 I'm smiling as my desk is very much like yours this morning 😁 if a bit more ... messier 🤦‍♀️ forgive my tardiness ... my brushes are sat in a jam jar waiting to be cleaned 🤦‍♀️I do love having a close peak at what's on your desk 👁 always a treasure trove of goodness ⭐️ Maybe the person you gifted your ATC tooo will snap a photo 😘 I often forget to take photos 📸 Wishing you all good things in the days ahead with much love and hugs Tracy #15 xxx pssst ... I'm away hanging my head in shame to save my paintbrushes.

I too am guilty of posting without scanning cards. Yesterday I watched an old "Come Dine With Me" and one couple had a paper up in the kitchen "Don't forget to Season". Perhaps we should have notices all over saying "Don't Forget to Scan".
Your desk is looking good - busy and productive certainly not untidy.

I think the untidy desk is the common ground of all crafters. We get busy and get focused and nothing else matters but the project! When I really get into a project I have to be really careful or I will lose a die. I have been known to throw away a die that is still attached to the cardstock and have to go rummaging the trash can to find my die. Once or twice I never found the die and that always just hurts my feelings. Thanks for letting me visit!

I saw those glasses and the mustaches last week, but they sure look different inked up. Thanks for letting me know what I was looking at.

oh gosh, I am always sending things off without taking a photo. And working in layers - the frustration when they finally slide off the desk or when one layer is in fact still got drying glitter glue on it is immense. I am not good at washing brushes though, hence I only ever buy cheap ones. Glad I am not the only one who looks at something for ages thinking it will be too much faff then discovers it only takes a few minutes. Gotta be in the right head space I guess. Have a wonderful week, love n hugs Cindyxx #16

You inspired me last week so I am following this new trend and you see my desk in all its glory . . . no posing!!
That looks an interesting stamp you have there . . . and, to be honest, I see no point in tidying up until you have FINISHED! So I don't have a problem with you desk at all. . .
Create and enjoy

Happy WOYWW. Firstly, what is this heat that so many comments mention?! Relatively cool and unsettled here in West Wales (in other words, it can be raining one minute and sunny the next). Secondly, you know that I am very much a tidy crafter (I will tidy my room/tables before starting a project, as I can't be creative with clutter around me). I do appreciate those layers though - and enjoy looking at them (from afar). Ali x #20

Love it Julia! You make me feel so at home with your layers! I did manage to tidy up last week when I literally ran out of room to do anything creative. I am slowly building up the layers again, be assured! Have a great week, Lindart #21
