What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 888

 That’s a good roundy number isn’t it.

If my ‘desk’ looks familiar it’s because it’s a continuation on a theme!

I’m still making the poppies. I am such a one-job-at-a-time person that I’ve been making myself unhappy with the number of UFOs and materials lying about waiting for me to start on. So I’ve drawn a line and am going to clear them all, one job at a time! The poppy manufacture is quite amazing.i had 3 balls of red yarn and one ball of black. I said that I’d use all the black and that would be the number of poppies I’d make, and pass on any left over red for another maker to finish. Well, I’m on the third ball of red and the black isn’t half used, so it may well be the other way around!  At the last count there were over a hundred poppies so that’s a good amount and it means I won’t be in a panic in November when the deadline rushes into view. I wonder if I’ll be able to say the same about December and Christmas cards….

There’s more crafting and the loveliest people to meet up with via Sarah’s blog where we meet to link for WOYWW.

Oh well done on the poppies- it does become addictive so beware! You might find balls of red wool tumbling into your shopping basket🤣x x Jo 🌈 888 - what an achievement!

Happy Knitting Day WOYWW
Crikey - over 100 is a pretty good amount, but I really hate having bits of yarn leftover. I would just keep making them till I ran out - and if it got close? I'd make one MASSIVE Poppy to finish it all off, with a huge centre black blob if need be :) But well done you. Bet they will appreciate such a huge contribution

That’s an amazing stock of poppies, Julia, well done you! I’m too much of a craft dilettante and like to have several WIPs on the go at once.
Happy WOYWW

They’re just so quick and easy to make aren’t they? Also nice and small so you feel like you’re achieving lots….the WI will be appreciative of your work. I’m a one WiP gal too, like to get things done and dusted rather than trying to do too much.

Goodness, Julia, over 100! What an impressive number and I'm sure they will be much appreciated come November. I was gifted one many years ago and I still treasure it, wear it, and still donate to a cause that is very dear to my heart. I do wish I was single minded enough to just finish one project at a time too. I hope you and your hubby are keeping well. Hugs, Elizabeth x #12

Well done, so many poppies and they are lovely. I am finding it difficult to concentrate on the job in hand at the moment, too much sorting out to do when I would sooner be making. Wishing you a very happy woyww, hugs Angela x10x
