What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 772

This 'ere is a scheduled post...I'm going to be up and at it in the morning, hopefully to give me some afternoon at home! So, on Tuesday evening, the mess looks like this...
Last week I stamped a few sleeping ducks (I really did, no euphemism here!). They sat untouched until the weekend, and on Sunday I turned them into cards. Cute - it's an old image but I do like it. The card you can see is one of four the same, the other two are new baby cards.
I don't know if you can see well enough but the card has little cups stamped all over as a background, and that, in a roundabout way explains the presence of the two SU! Stamp set cases. They often have little and very useful stamps in them, and I use them a lot. Probably more often than the main image that originally sold me the set! The beautiful hard back journal with the teapot pouring me a cup of love was a gift from my Kathy #1. I'm not journaling, but recording my 2024 projects, card making, scrapbooking, gift making and embroidery. I've never done it before, but my Coven friend Lolly did it last year and I really enjoyed looking through hers and seeing all her achievements. It'll be interesting to compare year on year too. If I get that far!
The best part of my rubbish photography is that at 5.30pm, it's still light outside. We're getting there, Deskers. I hope that longer, brighter days will add some happy to your days.

I really enjoy getting home from work when it is still light , I agree.
Your desk shows great signs of activity (although without my glasses which are in my bag ready to go to work, a bit blurry!!) Happy WOYWW Helen #1

Cannot see the card with the cup background, well I can see the card but not clearly what is on it. I can see the cuppa on the journal though, what a lovely journal it is. Good idea to record your achievements over time and compare year to year. Wonder if you will slow down as time goes on?
Take care, especially as you got up early this morning.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

The cards turned out quite cute and love the journal. Project tracking sounds like fun but I guess adding on more thing to my full journal schedule would be crazy! And oh yes please to brighter days!
Happy Woyww!

I'm really loving the lighter days Julia. We noticed how much lighter it was yesterday morning at silly o'clock when we had to get up for our Nanny Annie day....and what a lovely day it was too :-)

Hi Julia, it was a lovely day here yesterday so maybe Spring is here at last. Recording what you do is a great idea so that you can look back at what you've done and to be honest that's why I've carried on blogging as I can look back at the projects and techniques when I get stuck for ideas which you can't do so easily with Facebook. Hope you have a good day what ever you're up to. Happy woyww, Angela x5x

Yes Yes Yes to longer brighter days, I started to notice it a few weeks ago, love it. Journaling your projects sounds great, for me I'd be journaling my journaling amongst other things LOL. Hugs BJ#9

Morning!! Yes the extra light is certainly making life a bit better but where are the blue skies? Haven't even done a day in my garden yet, it's just too wet. Oh well, more time in the craft room. In response to last week's query we had a wonderful break. 3 weeks was fine, I could have done a few more days but the key thing is the weather which was glorious. However, it is not always glorious in February, even in the Canaries. The trick, I think, is to have a property that you can live in rather than stay in. When we did our 4 week stint in Nerja just before Covid, we had a 3 bedroom house (no garden) with a roof terrace. Weather was 50% just a bit nicer than at home, 50% glorious. But we took puzzles, and crafting, we had Netflix - we cooked, cleaned and lazed about like home, not going out every day/night. The place we had this year was much smaller and I think if we had been on occasion stuck inside it would not have been so pleasant. I am negotiatijng with hubby for a split break - I love Playa but it's more Blackpool than Bath. We'll still go to Tenerife but go somewhere a bit less touristy for the second half. Go for it, I loved it, Have a good week, Love n hugs Cindy xx

I think it’s a nice idea to be able to look back on previous projects. Quite a few years ago I did digital scrapbooking and I always meant to print them out but never did. One challenge was to do two Valentine layouts, one for your husband and one for a celebrity. If I did the same challenge again I would still choose the same celebrity 😍. Happy WOYWW. Angela #8

Such a great idea to use those tiny stamps to create a background, I have lots of 'm that I hardly ever use - I might try this too! And yes, Spring is coming. Birds wake me - even before the alarmclock goes off - around 6 in the morning and I don't have to walk in the dark going and coming back from work. I also love your journal-that's-not-a-journal, good luck keeping it going and happy woyww! Marit #11

Well, congratulations for doing something in your craftroom!!! I have just arrived at the same conclusion about small stamps (are they called worker stamps?) for backgrounds, yours look good.
Enjoy your afternoon

Thanks for your visit, I totally understand about time getting away and making later rounds. I sometimes have to review 2 wks at a time As Wednesdays seem to fly by. I really cannot enlarge your photo, today's is big enough but I cannot make out your card nor the journal top. I can see the box top of your stamps I even tried 2 other sets of glasses !!! At some point I'd like to see a page or two in that journal ENJOY a GREAT week.

Isn't it nice to have sunshine in the evenings again! I can't wait to be able to sip wine on the porch again, but that won't be for another month or so. Your card is very cute! I don't make Easter cards, but it's fun to see all the cute ideas people come up with! Have a great week Lindart #19

Hello..... (peeks round the door).... may I pull up a chair? Can someone tell me where the last 3 years went, please?

I took am happy about the longer days, but definitely think that stamping a sleeping duck should be a euphemism.... :D

Hi, Julia!

I am so late! The Hubster let me sleep until noon! Shame on him! We have been dealing with some family emergencies, so I guess he felt I needed the rest.

I can't see your card well, but I am sure it is adorable. The ducks were so cute!

I love the longer days!
