What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 692

Well, you see a shambles. I see creativity. No seriously, it IS a shambles but it’s a genuinely-in-the-middle-of-making-something shambles. I’m a bit hooked on this set of penguin stamps at the mo, and am having a bit of a retrospective in that I’m doing stacks of lovely bright shiny heat embossing and I’m loving it! The big magnifying glass thing clipped to my desk was in use yesterday for the removal of a big old splinter. Honestly, there’s so much in this craft room that can cross into real life, I mean a couple of weeks ago I had to rescue my scissor sharpener from his workshop and how often do my scissors cross the border into real life? Admittedly, less now that Miss Dunnit lives elsewhere, but really, this household would be lost without this workroom stuffed full of stuff. I consider this logic and justification for my crafty space a non copyrighted piece of writing…if you need to use it, please repeat as loud and often as you like! See the state of the darker pink ink pad wedge? The foaminess has disappeared. It’s the second wedge in the erm, cheese that this has happened to. I think it must be just bad luck, I’ve got much much older pigment ink pads that have stamped kerjillions of images and they’re fine. Strange though. See I’ve got two pairs of scissors in use again…despite having had a sharpening session, I’m finding the orange handled ones a bit fuzzy edged…probably need to be a little more patient in the sharpening!
Show and tell then please, it won’t be as messy as on this page, so you’re safe to do a desk expose!

I do like the penguins! especially with the heat embossing. I seem to recall the last time I took out one of those "cheese" inks the foam backing had disintegrated. I have lots of them and can't recall the last time I used any..... happy WOYWW

Oh yes Julia my shed is quite often a source of stuff that my husband needs to use for jobs round the house. Hope the splinter wasn't too painful. Loving the penguins too. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2 (you can tell the holidays are over lol).

Oh I love heat embossing and I should use it more. It was part of the 'magic' that got me into crating. I did a whole day once at hobbycraft on the joys of embossing lol. Spent the whole day directing people round the store. Think I used to spend too much time there. Only two pairs of scissor in use? I salute you. And everyone in this house knows where to come for most things. Happy WOYWW, Cindy xx

Oh that's a shame about the cheese, obviously much used. Love the bright pink with the cute penguin though. I think it's great when a crafty tool is required elsewhere, just like them returned. Had a bit of a week but did manage a couple of pages. Happy WOYWW BJ#5

I am very fond of penguins - especially the little ones we see on the Australian South coast. So any stamps with 🐧🐧 quickly become favourites! Managed to join in today!

Goood morning Julia πŸ€— wow that week fairly whizzed on by! I am in love with your wee penguin, such a beautiful wee Soul 🐧 who will most definitely bring joy to people's day ❤️ Sadly I've not had much luck with the ... cheeses (love that) over the years. Ouch with the splinter, hoping you got it all out ... for something so small they really cause pain. ✂️πŸ’•✂️πŸ’•✂️πŸ’• gotta love all the scissors, Smiling as I read your words ... mine often go on holiday and have to beeee hunted down πŸ€ΈπŸ˜‰πŸ˜ Sending lots of love, light and joy for the week ahead. I have some of those inks too. I have been sorting out old inks and trying to use them or lose them as I really need the space but some of them have had to be binned as they were all dried up sadly. Hope the splinter didn't cause too much pain for you. I thought crafting was real life and everything else is just stuff Lol! Wishing you a very happy penguin productive woyww, Angela x10x

Morning Julia. Aaahhh! Cute penguins - love 'em! There might only be me in my house - but that doesn't stop things mysteriously moving to different parts of it!! Scissors, crochet hooks, pencils, paper... all go walk-about. Odd, isn't it???
take care young lady.
God bless.

Cute penguin cards! I love, too, your dive into masterboards. The cards below are quite stunning. Very sad to say my crop attendance is in jeopardy. I will hope to have more info and make a decision by the end of the week. It is quite fraught around here, I fear, between the windows, my son, and my health, so I will have to carefully consider before making plans. This really blows. I was so looking forward to it.

You know what? I don't think I have a penguin stamp in my possession. Is that really bad? I love them and they are so cute at Christmas but I cannot think of any - must check.
As for the lap over - yes, my craft stuff is occasionally used by others - for housey things. But then I guess we use housey things in our craft room at times, do we? Or in that case are they duplicates?

Hi Julia, are you telepathic or what? I was wondering whether my Fiskar scissors could be sharpened only yesterday!
I try only to use them for wool and himself ‘knows’ not to use them but they’re not so sharp now. I wonder where I might get a sharpener? (That sounds wrong - at work they’d call a quick drink after work ‘a sharpener’)😏
I hope your splinter wasn’t too painful.
Your penguins are simply the best and look very cute.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Your desk isn't a shambles, just works in progress. My late husband was the same coming in pinching scissors, tape, needles etc. I used to shoutabout the scissors saying they were for crafts only but....
Will join you later but just come in from knitting group and am feeling drained. Ani

Hi Julia! I have the same problem with those petal stamps. Mind you, mine are at least 20 years old if not older, so I guess they don't last forever! I think it has something to do with pigment ink, because I don't remember this happening with any of my dye ink pads. Also, I rarely use pigment inks anymore. I used to use them all the time, and so have quite a few of those petal collections, many of them unusable now. Funny, I was doing a lot of embossing last week for a birthday card, but now I use Claire inks for that. Have a wonderful week with your penguins! Lindart #18

The penguins are so cute! I don't think I have any orange handled scissors in the house. But I like your desk's busyness!
Have a great week!

I'm late,,,,what a week. But love these little penguins. Glad you are having sometime to create. My area is such a mess, he'd never try searching. He comes to update me on this or that and just shakes his head. I've way too many types of creative things going at once. ENJOY
