What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 691

Last Wednesday, I spent the day at a Stampin Up! a summer party. It was fun, made cards designed and kitted by other attendees, went to a pub for lunch, bought some retired stuff and saw some new stuff. The stack of cards on the left are all packs of Hero Arts blanks - some beautiful textures and colours. The teacups are resting on one such blank. Not sure if you can see the texture of the card, it’s so pretty. This card was going to be for a Ruby wedding anniversary, but I couldn’t make it go anywhere. So I made something else, on top of all this paraphernalia. So much for that. I needed it for last weekend so you can see why it’s still there, I need a fresh start with it but am not ready to part with the original idea. Can you imagine being so craft stubborn with YOURSELF? Argh. Above that, in navy and white is a folded/collapsed pyramid card which I didn’t finish the other day. I intend to, especially as those that have since finished theirs have posted them and they are really lovely. No pressure there then.
No pressure here, please report in, show us your Workdesk and what you’re doing. School re-starts here this week, I hope it’s not stressful or germ ridden for those of you that have to go in!

the teacups look great, I hope you can make the idea work even if not for the original purpose!! We were saying at work yesterday that next week the traffic will be busy again - makes a huge difference when it's holidays!
No inspiration on my desk this week I'm afraid! Happy WOYWW Helenxx

never been to a stamping up, tho I once went to a creative memories and the facilitator made us all feel guilty and at blame for keeping our photos in a shoebox, and I think it put me off scrapbooking for good! I did get a scissor I really like and somehow I still know where it is!

I am often stubborn with myself, so I get that. You head down a path, you are determined, so you plot ahead no matter what. Ha! Well good luck with both and share when you finish them.
Happy Woyww!

That is something I have always fancied doing - going to a Stampin Up Party. They seem to come up with some great and novel ideas.
Love the thoughts of that Pyramid card so I hope we get to see it some time in its completed stage, pretty please.
You've just reminded me I need to do a Ruby Wedding cad - but I cannot remember who it is for. That's a good start isn't it?
Have a lovely week ahead
Hugs, Neet 1 xx

Love the tea cups and hope your design can be adapted and used, must admit i dont tend to have a full design in my head as that means thinking it through and i am a bit rubbish like that (hence i used to have that large box of unfinished projects, lol!). The event sounds like a fabulous day though.

Early morning Hello, I too love that top on that little box. Sounds like pressure's on for that pyramid card. My neighbor sells stampin up, but it's pricey and I had fun at her party a few years back. We did fall cards. I'm hoping to update the house to the season this week ! I'll report on sons visit to Spain if it happens this week. ENJOY each day

This month always seems full of wedding aniversaries so there are always cards to make though I tend to stick with a similar idea and yes it's difficult to convince myself otherwise. The teacup is lovely, can't wait to see how that turns out. The craft club that I go to love fancy fold cards and though they are not something I used to make very often I have been getting into it. I've made them some samples for next month as I'm doing the project and they are going to be making a Tripple Diamond Pop Up card, I think that's what it's called anyway. Have a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x12x

My eye was immediately drawn to the navy and white card - please do finish and post so can see it!! Totally understand craft stubbornness. I have wasted a day trying to find the exact thing - only to find it still doesn't work lol. What fun to go to a craft event. Craft and chat. And someone else did the prep. Have a good week, love n hugs Cindy #16 xx

Hi Julia, my the year is flying how can it possibly be 31st Aug?
I love your tidy desk today with signs of productivity, awaiting attention inspiration etc. know all about that too. I craft same way often not set plan … a leaping off spot and end up wondering what next till it hits me again and off I go.
Then other cards I know exactly what to do!
A Wednesday crafting with like minded think last time I thus crafted and chat was at crop in 2018, they’re rare in my life. Oh no, I have been to friends Stamping up day, but she doesn’t do it anymore. Love the wee box next to the apple punch too.
Thanks for Sharing, God bless and keep you safe, and all those you love, hugs Shaz in Oz.x

Good morning, Julia. Happy to hear you enjoyed the Stampin' Up! event. I think we have something similar here in the US. We call them shoe box gatherings. Everyone puts together a kit for each participate and you move from station to station to see an original completed card as well as everything you need to make one. I haven't been to one in years... long before the dreaded word hit the world.

I hope we'll get to see what you finally come up with for that tea cup card.

Hugs & Creative Blessings! ~Kelly #18 (again)

When you said you bought some "retired" stuff, my first thought was stuff for retired people? How silly am I? LOL! And don't you just hate when something just doesn't go anywhere? I have that too of course - you just get stuck at a point - I have several journal pages like that. I just leave them until further inspiration strikes. Happy #691! I'm enjoying my catch-up day! xx zsuzsa #19

Sounds like you had a fun day! Always great to spend time with friends!
I won't be joining for a couple of weeks as I'll be having surgery soon. I'll join back in when I get a little recovery time.
Have a great Sept.!

Glad you enjoyed your Stamping party Julia. I loved your teacups.
Maybe the stubbornness is your subconscious telling you that there’s something still in the idea you had?
Take care

Sounds like you have been very busy! I've been to 1 or 2 Stampin' Up parties, they are fun, but I'm not crazy about their stamps so rarely buy anything! You'll have to show us your pyramid card when you get it done! Have a great week, Lindart #22
