What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 490

My desk surface looks as normal really....
There's my pot of Sharpies...I love 'em! There's some Quick Kutz dies that I've sold on eBay waiting to be packaged. And the small pile of LOs is the results of a Chinese Whispers thing that I took part in. So it doesn't look too bad huh. That's because the real damage is  on the floor!
These dies are a part of Mary's legacy and I've been sorting and listing them on eBAy. Honestly, there have been hundreds. Those that aren't part of sets were neatly labelled in a yellow basket. Which I dropped as I lifted it out of the bag. Argh, I was so cross. What a waste of careful research, sorting and filing in labelled order. I'm over it now, because there's no time for crying over spilt milk. I'm off to my Coven's annual retreat this weekend and there is still a lot of preparation to do for that!

Oh, I wanted to explain the glorious flare from the windows...I used a flash and an arc light from the building side to illuminate, and the light bounced of the silver paper that lines the insulation of the extension. Wonderful reflector!

You could be forgiven for thinking I'd dropped off the face of the earth this week, I do apologise. Sometimes it just won't all fit in. It's OK, no different for many of us, so I'll just promise to do better. See you at your place in a bit then? Great.

I feel for your pain in dropping your carefully organised dies. Enjoy the retreat, I know you always have such fun. Your reflector flare is a fun shot and your desk has more activity than mine.

Ugh! Dropping that on the floor must have been a real cussing moment.
Your desk is far busier than mine - which has very little activity on it because of a bad back and swollen legs. Am hoping things will be better this coming week and I can join in properly with some crafting to show - about time!
Enjoy your weekend!
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Surely 'the floor' is simply an extension of 'the desk'? It is in our house :D
I'm late today - you'll see why... and I apologise for my photo-heavy post - I wanted to ho my progress...
Happy WOYWW :)

Morning Julia. How frustrating after you had sorted out all the dies! These things are sent to try us. Enjoy your retreat with your Coven, and you can tackle the dies when you return, fully refreshed! Have a lovely week Heather x #8

That reminds me of when I dropped all my beads on the floor. I bet you said ‘oh dear!’ I’m still finding stray seeding beads. Have fun at the weekend.

Maybe you should follow Helen’s example, Julia, and be a floor-based crafter! Nowhere for anything to fall... What a pain, though. Don’t worry about not visiting - I often wonder how very active people manage to fit so much into their weeks! I hope this one is a good one for you.

Happy WOYWW,

Hi Julia, here I am thinking that was the sun Lol! I must follow your idea and get rid of some stuff on Ebay, I'm such a hoarder. I believe this is a type of behavioural disorder:
Compulsive hoarding, also known as hoarding disorder, is a behavioural pattern characterized by excessive acquisition of and an inability or unwillingness to discard large quantities of objects that cover the living areas of the home and cause significant distress or impairment.
Bet I'm not the only one Lol! Happy woyww, Angela x11x

You will soon be settling into that warm, cosy extension! Flippin annoying to drop stuff but worse still - I hate not being able to find stuff - wastes so much time just looking for things you know you have hidden away somewhere!! xx Jo

What you call 'tit's up' then?!?! lol
If you pick the dies up a few at a time, you could count that as your daily exercise..... full of good ideas this week aren't I?
Have a good rushing around week, see you back here soon.

Hi Julia, my language would have been quite spectacular at dropping them! Did it once with a whole tray full of pots of brads- not a pretty sight. What a collection of dies- I have a couple of Alphas, and some other shapes too. I think I still have the Squeeze tool somewhere too. Have a lovely week, love & Hugs, Shaz XxX

Hi Julia, A lovely atmospheric shot this morning. Good for you getting on with Ebaying, it's such a ghastly task - I have piles of 'stuff' to list and really need a huge kick up the backside to get on with it!
Have a great week and I hope you enjoy your retreat.

Hi Julia. I feel for you after all that hard work and then everything back in one heap. Dratted predictive text struck again this morning while I was linking in an changed my name. Hence the double entry while I was trying to change or delete the original. Not a good start to my first post after so long. Have a lovely time with your friends. Maggie. xxx

Thank you for your visit, Julia. I don't mind how long most projects take because it's the pleasure of making them rather than the completing of them, mostly! I have access to loads of sourdough sites but thanks for the advice about Paul Hollywood. If I eventually get it right, maybe I'll earn a famous Hollywood handshake lol!! As for the rollator, you grab the handles and walk along with it and it helps with balance and weakness. When you get tired, you lock the brakes, turn round and sit on it!! Useful when shopping etc. When not in use, you can fold it and it's very lightweight too.

Some days are just like that.. you do a lot of work and then throw it over, or a carefully written comment disappears, or a red sock is in the white laundry... I know, I know, I have those days sometimes - hope your today goes fine Jullia! Happy woyww and a big hug from rather chilly and grey Holland. Marit #19

You are totally normal...dropping, spilling, hectic, cussing, seems everything takes too much time. But ebay/etsy listing is a lot of time and detail. I hate to think what will happen to my huge stash of what men think of as junk. 2 sons have said one big truck will take care of it. DH has no idea unless he looks around when I am gone !!! No doubt there. But I've peeped about his shop and recycle place and can always defend. Hope things settle a bit, have a fun week.

Oh no! I hate when I drop things I've just made tidy. Happens to all of us, Miss Julia. I bet you gave Mary a good chuckle as she watched from above. LOL Enjoy your retreat this weekend. I'll just be puttering here at home. Creative Blessings! Kelly #27

Your floor looks a lot like my floor! Someday I might share my floor pics! Your desk looks nice and ready-to-go! Its a lot of work to sell things on e-bay, it all looks so easy. Good luck with your sales! Have a great week, Lindart #28

Oh dear me for the mess on the floor, Julia ... so infuriating for you! I've seen a few people on YouTube bragging about the die sets they've won on eBay and now I'm wondering if they are now the proud owners of Mary's legacy. Love the glorious flare - so much nicer than the grey day I can see from mine. Have fun at the retreat this weekend. Hugs, Elizabeth x - a disgraceful #26!

Julia, I am laughing so hard because whenever I "clean" my desk, I just throw everything on the floor. So you walk in the room and the desk looks great and then all the crap is spread all around the floor near my desk!!! However today I am in rare form, I have a hot mess on both the desk and the floor! I spared viewers the floor since I had a healthy dose of clutter on my desk. Have a blessed day my friend!
