So I've started to waste my time by working smart. One or two of the machines are safe enough for me to be allowed to set up on my own, and after some initial consultation and instruction on settings, I rummaged through the bags of offcuts that are destined to be firewood and started drilling!
I made a few of these...two went as WOYWW Crop prizes and others to friends at Kraft Crazy. They are specifically for the glitter glues - too shallow and fat for pens. Am working on one that will take gel pens, lid down....but just as I get the ideas going...I'm summoned back to real life apprentice works!

Oh, I am impressed!! I hadn't appreciated that the one you gave Zoe you'd drilled yourself!! And you can't beat a lovely chunk of wood, either!!
Fab idea.
Hope you have a lovely day. Sue
Oh you clever wotsit! There is something about a chunk of wood that always has appeal and this is so useful too!
Pat yourself on the back Julia as that is a fabulous make.
What a beautiful piece of wood too.

That's impressive.....I know it's only a simple design but it's done by your own fair hands specifically for it's purpose.....and it's wood :-) I love it and can smell the new worked wood from here :-)

What a clever tart then. I hadn't realised YOU had made the one you gave to Zoe. I NEED one now. Do you take commissions?

wow they are really cool, fab idea and as for the age thingy i think it creeps up on us all, looking forward to joining woyww tomorrow for my first time :)
I can't possibly believe that gorgeous wood was destined for firewood. I read that you had made and given Zoe one of these, although Jan wasn't sure what it was for. I'm glad you finally showed one, because my curiosity was piqued. And it is beautiful, too.
Like Hettie, I was going to ask if you take commissions for these fabulous bits of kit. Could become a whole new line of business for you. xx Maggie
So many talents. great idea. I think I deed one of those for me as there are days when head feels it needs a sort out.
