I’ve been poorly for the last couple of weeks, I’ve had some surgery and really surprised myself by not bouncing back and getting on with stuff. Having said that, not one person alluded to the fact that a couple of spoons full of painkiller and a few good sleeps would do the trick, I just assumed. We’re always 18 in our heads, huh. Anyway, I’ve turned the corner, Mr Dunnit is happy to go back to work without starting hours late and coming home hours early, so I’ve headed into the workroom. Todays session will finish yesterday’s…some multiple gernomies were stamped and embossed in a very sparkly gold, then I spent a happy half hour painting them with a radiant pearls. Now they all need to be cut out before I decide where exactly I’m going with them! There’s a small pile of teal stamped greetings, originally part of a design for the card marathon. They are Hero Arts solid stamps. The pile is my cast offs, not perfect stamping….but I decided I’d use them somehow, so that’s another few cards to think on. So, I feel as if I’ve gone and got it underway, join me do in the slightly smug tone as you show and tell of your week. OK, thanks.

Whatks On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 650. 650!!
Good grief. 650 weeks. Thanks for sticking with me. Especially over the last couple of weeks whilst my desk and I have been through a lacklustre hiatus. I’ve taken it back; despite the DIY of my favourite person, and despite that it’s all to be for my benefit, I really need to be driving that desk, time is running out!

Oh Julia, so sorry to hear you’ve been struggling. But glad to now hear you’ve turned a corner. I know how you feel . In my head I think I’m in my 20s lol! Then I pass a mirror and reality crashes down on me. Glad you can get back to it. This cards won’t make themselves, right?
Have a great Woyww day! I’m of to breakfast and get the family sorted for the day then right to desk hopping. I failed miserably last week and that can’t happen again!

I am so sorry to hear you've been poorly and glad you are recovering and back in the craft room working hard! You're right about feeling younger than we are.... think that's the same for all of us! I am also finally cracking on with Christmas cards. Happy WoyWW and keep fighting fit! Helen
I’m glad you’re feeling better enough to want to craft, that’s a good sign! Hope you’ve been having fun with the gernomies 😁
Keep on improving xx
Hugs LLJ 5 xx
Glad to hear you are feeling well enough to craft-take care. I love the genomies and somehow my liking for stamping has returned-yeah!
Sorry to hear you've needed surgery but am thrilled to hear you're on the mend...really hope your recovery continues well.
Biggest hugs,
Annie x
I’m sending a massive hug your way Mrs D, you are our hero. Anyone who can stick at running a challenge for 650 weeks through good and bad times deserves a blogscar (blog-Oscar). See what I did there ?

Morning Julia, I'm so glad to hear you are on the mend and doing some crafting. Keep up the good recovery - gentle crafting is the best medicine!
Sending hugs,

So sorry to hear you’ve not been well. Glad you’re picking up now.
650 weeks, though, it’s a real achievement to have steered this community for so long. Er, what’s a ‘gernomy’??
Take care and happy WOYWW

Good to know you are feeling better. I'm sure you'll get lots done - I'm certainly intending to try today but best laid plans and all. Rather like the portrait by the way, and indeed the original photograph. Was Morti's wedding really 12 years ago? I will have to go and lie down to digest that piece of information. Have a wonderful day and an even better week. Love and hugs, Cindy xx
Hi Julia, you kept that quiet! I even read over the last few weeks to see if you mentioned anything about going into hospital. Glad you are starting to feel better. By the way we are not all 18 in our heads you know, I am only 17! 🤣. There are 650 testimonies to your tenacity to keep going. Big hug from me x I do like those word stamps, you could give them a little plinth like a snow globe x Angela # 7
Good Morning to You Ms D, glad to see you are on the mend. Little by Little, yes I've been dealing with a young thinking mind in an old body for quite awhile now and it is an awakening. The last class photo (Oct) I'd say we all looked over our age! Now the Senior generation. For quite awhile I've not been able to enlarge your photo, but from what I can see your little Gnome's are cute in those Christmas colors. Glad to see your desk progressing and I hope you find enjoyment in getting back to creating, one day at a time.
Thank you for sticking by 650 posts and giving us the entertainment we all so much need. I've enjoyed so many different things because of all the fun gals posts. May you get that energy and enjoyment back to normal. Wishing you a HAPPY WOYWW kind of week. Hugs
Hi Julia, sorry to hear you've not been yourself and you're right about the age thing even my mum at 93 still things she's 18 and so is everyone though of course most people are younger than her so she expects even more of them Lol! Sometimes putting new and cast offs together can come up with something great and not at all what you thought which can also lead to even more new ideas so I should just go with the flow. Have a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x15x
Tell me about not bouncing back after surgery, I hit rock bottom in weeks 3 and 4 after mine and only starting to feel more normal now in week 8! So glad you are feeling better now. You lost me with the gernomies to start with but I clicked in the end. BJ#17
If you need any more gnomes I have a few stamped out ready! Love gnomes, been waiting on 'Creative Stamping' and there was only two left on the shelf when a spotted it. I',m spying a frence outside your window, has it always been there or has you house grown towads it!? Can't wait to see what happens to those gnomes, Stay safe, be well, Happy WOYWW!? ((Lyn)) #19
Now off to say hi to every one, before I'm locked out again!
Well, you kept that quiet Miss Julia. I do hope you start to turn the corner soon and feel ready to do battle with all that is Christmas. My mum always said 'Sleep is a good healer' so sleep when your body wants to, to heck with the dusting etc. It will still be there waiting when you are better.
Glad the gemomies are multiplying, colouring is the perfect way to relax, feel as if you are getting there (the end of "C" cards) and not tax yourself too much when under the weather.
Could have sworn you were only 16 last time I saw you irl.
Hugs, Neet 4 xx
I hope that the bouncing begins soon Julia, maybe on tiny tags or something? (to use up the little bits) but, I have been a tag making fool lately so, that was what instantly came to mind. (( HUGS )) ~Stacy #22
Sorry to hear you've been visiting with the NHS, marvellous bunch they are but I think we all prefer to travel without the visit, glad you're feeling well enough to craft.
Enjoy yourself now but take it steady . . . . advice from a 37year old . . .

Thanks for your comment on my scar, it is beginning to feel a bit normal but it is all hampered by the wrist and thumb not extending where they ought. Plus the unusual Ulna-side pain which my hand therapist thought might be tendonitis but my consultant said not. Hopefully the hand therapist tomorrow will be able to show I'm moving in the right direction with the extensions all be it "painfully!" slow. BJ#17
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
Looks like you got quite a bit accomplished!
Have a great week!

I was saddened to read you have not been well, Julia. I hope you are now on the mend. at least yiy are well enough to sit at your craft table. Sleep helps, but so does rest and hot soup. OK, the soup may not help, but it always soothes. 650 is not just a number, it's a legacy!
Sorry to hear that you haven't been well Julia, but glad that you have turned the corner and now want to spend time at your craft table. Have fun with the gernomies! Happy belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx
Hi Julia, so sorry to hear you've had a tough time recovering from your surgery. Got to agree that it takes longer to get over surgery, or any illness if it comes to that, as we get older. Good to know your feeling better and able to craft again. The gnomes are delightful. Take it easy now. Hugs, Elizabeth x #24
Hi Julia, it's a snowman mug! Especially made for hot chocolate. The lid/hat, is a shaker! You put cocoa power in there and then shake it over your froffy topped hot chocolate as seen in the T for Tuesday post. Hope you're feeling a lot better today!
(Lyn)
I spotted those little gnomies before I read you words! Love a gnome!
650 - another auspicious number!
