Our little balcony is in the shade in the late afternoon and we’d had a hot day out so were enjoying a quiet, shady cuppa. I did a bit of stitching whilst we decided what to do with our evening.
Regulars will appreciate knowing that there has been some progress on this ‘zenbroidery’. I take it with me on holidays and twice a month to a two hour, afternoon craft bee. Sometimes I do five stitches in between tea making and gassing, sometimes I do a little more. I’m completely over how long it’s going to take, and am just happy to enjoy a craft that is so much more portable than card making or scrapbooking!
So, show us your works, do. Have a little brag if you’ve got something new. We call it ‘enabling’, show off in a helpful manner in case your fellow Deskers may need what you’ve got. Is a sisterhood, see. I’ll visit once the Sangria jug is empty....can’t quite say when..

The emboidery made me smile Julia. It reminds me of my colouring page that I have been working on for three years on and off lol. Maybe I'll finish it at this year's crop. Have a great last day and safe travels. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
Your embroidery looks fabulous! Definitely much more portable, and so easy to pick up and put down. Enjoy your final day in the sun!
What a beautiful piece and such a good idea. Simple and easy to pack up. Looks like a great time away. Good for the 2 of you. ENJOY Safe travels
Hi Julia, that embroidery looks beautiful and a great portable project. I actually posted yesterday and only realised my mistake after reading your lovely holiday post :) I reverted it to draft, but it still says Tuesday! Enjoy your holiday x Angela #8
Morning Julia, what a fabulous piece to take around the world with you and on crafty adventures, it will be beautiful when finished like a life's work and hold many happy memories even if you never finish it's fantastic.
Enjoy the rest of your hols & the Sangria of course.. Hugs Tracey #7

Enjoy the zenbroidery and the sunshine! It's a gorgeous piece and it really doesn't matter how long it takes to finish - it will be worth it. xx Jo
Time taken to finish something like this is always a good sign of a brilliant holiday but I have to say it is gorgeous and I so love the deign. Hope you have a lovely woyww last day and a pleasant journey home. Hugs, Angela x15x
Hi Julia, wow that is so beautiful! Gorgeous colours. Have a fab last day, I'm sure you will.Love & Hugs to you both, Shaz #3 XxXxXx
Thanks for the nudge about copyright with the rabbits. They aren't Tilda rabbits and are widely sold on the internet as Luna Lapin rabbits so I'd not given it a thought but I've just checked the back of the book and yes it does have copyright so of course I wont be selling them.
Big hugs,
Annie x
Ooh, I love it! You are so clever. I had no idea you did embroidery, have I missed some posts about it or is it just my age?
I love what you are doing, the lovely bright colours are fabulous and it is going to look gorgeous when finished.
Please pop along to my blog I have something to show you and LLJ.
Hugs, Neet 5 xx
ps enjoy the sunshine
Love the stitching and envy the warmth. We had snow here on Monday in Scotland.
Ah embroidery, now I’m partial to embroidery too, Julia but haven’t done it for decades, sewing yes, embroidery no. I’ve a project started in 198s still going about two squares to go f crotcheted cloth, must attack it again, do it annually for few weeks then it goes away again!
Am glad you’re enjoying your hols see post below too will scroll down for quick squiz afterwards. It is nearly 10pm here so won’t waffle as it’s nit supposed to be this late already. I’ve been enabling today .. enjoy
Happy WOYWW. Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too.

Your zenbroidery is wonderful Julia and it's great that you can take it with you everywhere you go. It's like a good book that you never want to end, so it doesn't matter how long it takes - the longer the better, actually - and believe me you're stitching all those memories into it! Enjoy the last days of your holiday - it sounds marvellous! xx zsuzsa #18
Hi Julia, I so enjoyed reading about your holiday in Lanzarote - a totally vicarious pleasure, but a pleasure nonetheless. Lovely pic of the two of you. Your 'zenbroidery' is coming along beautifully - an heirloom in the making. Enjoy this, your last day in the sun. Hugs, Elizabeth x #19

Lovely stitching! Glad to hear you are having fun! Have a great week, Lindart #23
Julia! Wow!! I love it! I want one! It's so pretty. I'm sorry to gush but I love the photo and how the beautiful embroidery is in the front and in the back some loveliness is going on! You must be on holiday. I have to catch up on your posts to find out. I love it. I have to find an embroidery project like that one. It's absolutely wonderful on the eyes. I like your approach - no rush, just enjoying the process. It's funny how much we all tend to put on ourselves when it comes to our crafts when they are meant to be fun and relaxing! Have a blessed day my far away friend!

Absolutely loveing the zenbroidery! So pretty and in the sun as well. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. Happy WOYWW. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#9)
HI Again! Your interpretation of what Mittsy was thinking is pretty right on - I woke up 1/2 an hour early today, which means she missed out on all that snooze time, so she probably was not all that happy! - Lindart
Hope you've had a lovely holiday, Julia. Your Zenbroidery is absolutely stunning - right up my street! I adore the bright bold colours. You made me smile, the idea of doing 5 stitches between the tea and gassing lol lol lol!!! To quote your words, "that speaks to me" haha!! Thanks for visiting, and I'm glad you enjoyed my annotated desk with all the "stuff I use." The picture wasn't big enough to get that many labels in!! I thought that if I didn't get on with the Valentine card while I was doing the other shutter cards, it wouldn't get done. Also, my hubby was intrigued by the first shutter card I made for my friend's birthday on New Year's Day, so I decided to make him one of his own.
I hope you will show us a picture of your finished Zenbroidery (in 10 years' time? lol!) - or failing that, some more close-ups of the WIP.
Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi #16
What a beautiful piece of stitching! There is something to be said for a reliable portable project : D. #28 (again lol)
I have never seen zenbroidery before! Love the bright colors and designs! Enjoy your time out!

oh WOW Julia, that has such gorgeous colors, I can totally see you being able to add a few stitches here and there while you are out and about :) ~Stacy #29
I always carry embroidery with me- it is the most portable craft- some get done, some don't! the joy is in the journey! thanks as ever. Robyn
Hi Julia, belatedly stopping by to say thank you for your kind words of encouragement. That zenbroidery is just beautiful. It will be full of wonderful memories when it's completed! Have a great week.

Love that embroidery and your colours, now I know what I can do with some similar material I have. Hope you have enjoyed your holiday and the weather was a little warmer than mainland Spain. Ani#27
