What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 438

Gentle desker, you will understand why I am smug. I have had three lovely days at a large farmhouse on a scrapbook 'retreat' with my Coven. I sorted, packed and my word, I scrapped. I came home, photographed, filed and unpacked and put away! And it gets better...my desk shows signs of doing other stuff! I can hardly get over myself!
I took this on Tuesday, about 5pm. Lights are on. That's a clue as to why I haven't posted this morning's photo. It's dark and dull. Apart from that it's identical! There's an upturned wood mounted stamp - Magenta's poinsettia. I don't know if you can make out the card in a shiny cello bag..it's for the Marython. I've been counting and cutting cardstock in preparation. There's a wedge of winter/Christmas papers at far right. Allegedly to remind me to use them. We'll see. A new and lovely sticky, luscious gold pigment ink pad. I know, I'm old fashioned about such things, but embossing gold ink with gold powder gives me a rich gold colour finish that I like! There's a couple of other cards for the Marython; one ready, another at a nascent stage. I might finish it today. But first, off to visit my lovely Mama, so look for me later rather than this morning!
Show us your desk please, your workspaces are sent to inspire us. Put WOYWW in your post title and link your blog here. It's easy, free and fun. (Is that phrase from an advert?).

wow, go Julia!! I hope you will share some of the pages you scrapped at your getaway. It does sound good, 3 days of scrapping and no doubt much chatting! I got a Christmas stencil out at the weekend... then put it away again so you're doing better than me. Helen xx

Ah, good to see the deck chair in all its glory.
I too like the lush colour of gold ink with embossing powder over the top, I like black ink with gold embossing powder over as well. Different or daft, that's me.
Does it sound as if you are getting ready for something beginning with "C"?
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

So how many LOs did you do at the retreat? Was really hoping to see them today. I've only done 2 more LOs (a double actually) but I am all set up for lots more over the coming weeks. BJ#5

Wow that’s impressive. What happened to the real Julia at the crop? Hypnotherapy maybe?....I must try it. My room is such a dumping ground at the mo that I didn’t dare share it lol
Have a great week who ever you are.

Jolly good for you Julia, you are fully entitled to feel smug! I love gold ink pads and can never resist one when I see it, and like you I like the ink to match the emossing powder, although not just with gold - I think the results are better - but I bet no-one else would notice!!
Have a great week,

Hi Julia, well I'm mobiling this comment, my ipad for reasons known only to Apple wouldn't give mr option of adding a comment, blogger really truly does not like Apple and vica versa. Love your desk, I'm a tad green on number of counts, first the luscious gold pad, mine is sadly suffering, looking find another Golden Glitz down under that won't break bank. Been bad this month so going to have to wait. :-) well done on getting Christmas cards done too... my aim in next week is to make some headway, all things being equal. Happy WOYWW!

It sounds like you've been incredibly productive, so you have every right to feel smug about it. Wish I could say the same thing!

Djeeez, you got organized Julia? Well, it's never too late for that ;) GLad you had a nice time at the crop but how could you not... it's always a feast to be creative with kindred minds. And golden ink? Hmmm.. I'm not good with stamping and stamping inks but I love my golden paint (especially when I put my heat gun on it... it gets all bubbly then and I love that look!) Happy woyww dear, have a great week! Hug from Holland, Marit #17

Happy WOYWW. Lots going on in your crafty world. I am not sure that I am going to make any Christmas cards this year. I might do some for the younger children in our family - and hubby. Otherwise, I have lots of charity cards left over from previous years and already bought some more. Ali x #20

Help Julia, for some insane reason I linked to your blog under my name instead of to my own (not sure what happened). Can you delete the link in place 19 please. i have re linked correctly under 24. Thanks, Sarah.

Good Job Girl, nice to have that energy after being gone. I too like the richness of gold, sparkle and kind of broke a little on traditional. I like that gold flower on the box. Our sun disappeared, dark and gloomy forecast for Fri/Sat a dreaded 4 letter word. But with temps in 40's it will melt. Wishing you Sunshine and a great week ahead.

You should be smug...sounds like you rocked the weekend! I agree, I always try to match the ink color with the embossing powder for a richer look; it was easy when I had a gazillion pigment pads. Not sure when I converted to dye-oh wait, yes, I blame Tim!

Have a great week.

*Fist Bump*
( I may just be a little bit smug myself this morning) I love to stamp with the same ink color as the embossing powder it really does give it depth. :) ooh, I have not had a shiny gold pad in a long time.

but, I am going to focus and keep my head down and not instantly go shopping. ( yay, me! ) snicker.
Hope its a really good day for your too Julia. ~Stacy # 25

Hi Julia, I have to agree, gold powder on gold ink gives a lovely rich colour you don't get when one or other is a clear version. Magenta do such beautifully detailed stamps, don't they? Hope the visit went well, Love & Hugs, Shaz #3 XxXx

I am so glad you got to go to a scrap retreat. I went to my first one in August, and absolutely loved it. Got so much done, and sounds like you did too. Sorry I have been missing. I have a good excuse for last week, but don't know why the rest of the time. I know what you mean about leaving stuff out to remind you to use it, other wise unseen, forgotten! Happy WOYWW! # 28
