What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 173
Well I never, the counting and cutting has stopped for a day, and I had a couple cards in progress when I took this pic at about 9pm Tuesday night. You can see, I'm fiddling about with the Snowman card...since the picture,it has undergone another radical change and I promise, at some stage, to show it. A Pearl-Ex palette of Stargazers...mica based watercolour paints...lovely. Very retro really, but I note that one of the top demo products at Ally Pally last week was puff paint, so I guess in a way I'm in the right 'trend' area! It's a fine mess...rolls of glue dots that were stacked have been knocked over by a pot of embossing powder, used, inky stamps cast aside, the button jar open for no good reason and I've broken out the chewing gum. That's a sign of monotony...I like to chew whilst I count and cut lots of card...it stops me wanting to wander off in boredom - to the kitchen! I must add that amongst this week's non planned stuff is a journey up to North London in the big old van tomorrow. Collecting a dust filtration system for the joinery. It's all glamour. And it's stopping me doing a lot of other planned stuff, I can tell you. This was not on my list!
More interesting is YOUR work surface, share it with us, please! Photo, post on your blog, upload with a WOYWW in the title and link here. Easy. Visits will occur. Reciprocal visits are polite. Advertising is not.

Ooh Christmas!! I'm seriously impressed I can tell you! Have fun in North London, pity it couldn't have been arranged in conjunction with Ally Pally, but I suppose that's way too logical!
Hugs

Christmas is upon us before we know it, Is your ipad lost? teehee havent seen it for awhile now
Bridget #3
OH YESSSS! We ALL live a glamorous life! I don't chew gum, I watch TV while I work! Nice to put buttons in a jar so you can see it! Mine is in a box and sometimes I forget all about them! Next week, I will have them in a bottle and post it on WOYWW!!! Patsy from
HeARTworks and
papemelroti
NOOOOOOOooooooo! I seriously can't contemplate Christmas just yet Julia...although your card does look seriously festive.
We're only had about 4 days of spring here...so can I catch up later please? ;D
Have a great WOYWW and thanks again for hosting...you're brill :D
I can relate to things not on your list. I have a few unplanned and basically unwelcome things that will take me away from the internet all the rest of the week. So I have to make the most of tonight.
I was telling Helen (H) that I have some puffy paint from the late 80s. What goes around comes around. Mine was for fabric, so I'm right on track. I suspect the Pearl ex are similar to H2Os, but I've used pearl ex and it didn't have a binder, as I recall.
have a great week, dear friend and don't "work" too hard. Happy WOYWW from #4.
Ooh, I can believe that I am #10. Julia, love the Christmas papers and can't wait to see the finised snowman. Tell me about it. I should be working on my planned projects instead of sitting here typing on the computer. But, I had to come by and now I have to go and be really nosey.
Oh how I love a chubby snowman! Going to be a very cute card. I hope you have a nice trip in London tomorrow! Crafty hugs! --Sandy Leigh
Look's Like Christmas is EVERYWHERE love it :) fabby desk Julia lot's going on hugs Nikki C #15
Wow, Christmas is just around the corner...

some nice festive goings on there this week! Hope you get everything done that you had planned after your unplanned trip!

Lovely card. Why shouldn't buttons be open, who knows when you might need one. Good luck with your van trip
Famfa 13
well Julia smiled a few times again as read throguh your post - and yes hate unplanned things but really are such a part o life it cannot be helped you might pass and interesting shop :D on your way to the pick up!! and yes chew gum for the same reason too, but also is tis good for stopping nausea i have found..
Will be interested to see what you do with the card, Shaz in Oz.x
PS Just in here doing computer generated greeting for third time - first had the wrong name on it ! PHW!!! did not post it!) then second time cut it in die crookedly so hopefully this is ht last go as no more colour of that card now! happy WOYWW and #21 for the mo!
Xams cards I can hardly get my head around the thought. Love your starglazer palette. Always surprised to see something or in this case old but very in trend. Enjoy your week.
Sandra @ 23
Your snowman card looks cute -- will be interested to see the radical direction he has taken since. The Christmas paper in the lower left is lovely. My brain isn't quite there yet . . . I just ordered a few Halloween papers today. :) Sorry I am "cheating" by posting a few hours before it's truly Wednesday here!
I like the snowman card! I can't wait to see how it turns out :) It can't really be time for Christmas cards can it? I'm not ready for that yet!
Katie (22)
No, I refuse to contemplate Christmas yet and you can't tempt me with your cute card. Nothing old fashioned about Pearl Ex, it's right at the top of my "best" stuff. I love it and you have reminded me to get it out and use it. Happy WOYWW, RosA # 27
Well aren't you just miss efficient already working on Christmas cards. I am itching to get started on mine but I still need to do some Thanksgiving cards..I like the snowman on your card.
Gum huh? I always like to see what other's snack (or in my case over indulge) on when they craft. You saw mine last week - Jelly Beans. Maybe I should try gum and maybe I will eat less jelly beans. Ok that is highly unlikely but it sounded good to write.
Hope your day provides you some time to craft.
Belinda (#30)
Hey everyone! I am #33 thi$ week a lucky number? Hugs
Kay
Oh your desk looks so busy this week...The snowman card looks like fun...can't wait to see the finished result.
Not sure if I will get a picture and post in for WOYWW this week...might just have to wait a bit...
Surgery is on Monday and I'm rushing about like a mad hen trying to get buckets of things done first.
I have that Christmas words paper too! Your picture reminded me of it...I had forgotton!!!
Wow! Good for you. I'm loving that Christmas paper on your desk. Can't wait to see your finish work of art with the snowman card.
I like your card and i really like the paper to the left.
I need to start my cards.
So many are already making Christmas cards and such. I just can't do it, haven't made Halloween or Thanksgiving yet!! LOL your desk looks very creative this week Julia.
Krisha #40
Puff paint sounds interesting, must look into it. Have a great week, Julia.
xx
Morning Julia, Busyness abounds I see. Never even heard of Stargazers let alone puff paint! Where have I been? BJ#42
Pretty colors for you snowman card. My puff paint found a new home, somewhere in a crate. And your IPAD? it's been missing, the little holder always reminds me of an old fashioned lawn chair my grandmother had on a bigger scale. Enjoy the week, Happy WOYWW..
Hi Julia. I know it may not seem glamorous but being productive has it's own nobility. You are a hero of mine, leading a life of crafty adventure. Have a wonderful week. Frances #45
Hello Julia, great looking desk, it looks very productive and I am glad that I'm not the only one who has several projects going at one time. Love your little snowman.
Oh, love that paper. Snowman is too cute as well. I really need to get some powdered gum Arabic to add to my pearl ex so I can make more use of them. I refuse to replace the 40 or so pots with perfect pearls
Happy WOYWW!
MA
I hear you girls go to ALLY PALLY all the time...I want to go too! Sounds like a grand time! I bet I would run in to more than one cyber friend there!
Like the paper a lot! Christmas is approaching a tad too fast for my liking though.....
hi julia, well it seems another wednesday is upon us and you are buried at your desk, hope you have a good trip to london :)
thanks for hosting as always, this is one of the highlights of my week
kay #56
Hi Julia...just like me you're in Christmas mode and working on a postage stamp...what's that stripey thing...reminds me of a mini deckchair...happy WOYWW...kath xxx
Puff Paint - a new rapper from da Block, perchance??

I don't do Christmas till late October, then it is a mad panic, I never learn!
Soggy Greetings All.

Busy , busy, I love those Stargazer paints and look forward to seeing finished snowman.Have a 'fun' safe journey toni x #63
Morning, Julia. My plan to be higher up the list this week has sort of worked, but I got up at 7 am (later than planned) and so many people have rushed in ahead of me. Loving your festive work area. Smug me - I started on Xmas cards back in June or July, and now have a good stash of them (Hazel's fault!). I would never get enough made otherwise. Ali x #62
Hmmm..a dust filtration system? Now I think I could use one of those :-) I have a house full of dust it could deal with.
Hugs,
A x
I thought that paint palette was a box of jelly sweets for a minute - luscious colours. x Jo
Oooo did I hear you mention puff paint, it is pretty cool stuff, a great busy desk full of xmas inspired projects (eek christmas). Have a great week. Happy WoyWW.
It amazes me that you can fit so much on your desk and still craft LOL
Have a safe journey.
Toni xx
So impressed by your ability to juggle so many things and still create such amazing projects Julia. The circus has nothing on you! Hugs, Buttons #70
Wow you are busy! Christmas too, I have dabbled in that area but no where enough to match what I'll need! Am feeling quite pleased I've joined in and am in the top 80! Something I've not achieved of late if at all. Right my friend, take care, look forward to seeing you in person very soon. Zo xx 73
Good morning Wednesday Peeps. Love your card and well done for being so organised for Christmas. Thanks for keeping us all in touch.
Sue x (Miniowner #71)
Oh heck! Xmas cards. I'm still fighting with Halloween. Just goes to show if you keep something long enough ie puff paint, it comes in vogue again - or in my case - just dries up!
Hugs Joanne xx #77
Hope your unplanned visit to my neck of the woods doesn't impact on your crafting time too much :) Sharon #79
Sounds like you're one busy bee, Julia. Christmas cards and filtration systems, it doesn't get more obscure than that. Hope you have a safe unplanned journey and get back to those pearly paints in time to carry on playing.
Happy WOYWW

Good luck coming to London today, (it's not raining at the moment!) Love that snowman - you can't beat a snowman, even in September! You're right the puff paint is big at the moment, I can now chuck out my dried up liquid applique tubes and use puff paint instead!!! helen, 35
Forget Christmas I'm on holiday in St. Ives, so this weeks desk is a look back at the tags I've made over the year for Carolyn Saxby's Tag Tuesday Challenge. I've added some links too.
Have a great week Julia
Lynn #82
Hi Julia. I'm a counter too. If I am prepping packs for a class I count as I cut and I count as I put into packs! I count if I am doodling stitches and try to see how accurate I am with my spacing by monitoring how many stitches I draw on each side! So glad to see I am not alone - or nuts!.....Or should that be the only nut! Love that stamped image Julia. WOYWW Hugs to you from Helen 83
Glad to see your desk is similar to mine lol.
Happy WOYWW and have a creative end to the week.
hugs {brenda} xox #83
Yay, another desk with Christmassy things on! I started yesterday as I want to be well prepared.
I was at Ally Pally on Sunday though it was a bit strange being in the bigger hall. More space, less smelly but utterly confusing!
Take care
Jakixx #85
Ooh dust filtration system.....the red carpet of filters! Lol! I would be tempted to go via craft shops on the way back!
Kyla #86
great looking desk! I see you have been very busy indeed. I hate all the unplanned interruptions to my day and week. Looks like the London trip could be a fun thing if you made a few stops to shop along the way.
Have a great week. Vickie #87
Oh gosh if you hold onto something long enough it comes back round again. Somewhere in here I have puff paint...I've had it for years...back in fashion eh...better dust off the cobwebs and get it out.
Have a super Wednesday Julia.
Hugs Erika. #89
Sweet snowman! Busy desk! Christmas is coming!! I do hope you were at AP on Saturday or I would be seriously cross. The next thing to look forward to on my crafty calender is the 'crop' in a couple of weeks - it will soon be here! Cindyx
Doing Christmas cards??? Oh I just can't get up to it but I know I should at some point! Love all the stuff on your desk! Will email today!
Hugs,
Cardarian
hi Julie..you are on the ball gal!! Christmas cards already I am impressed..I am still trying to capyere more summer...as it is slipping away very fast now!
Christmas cards!!! well of I have done a few but I still need to get my heard round the fact the we "DID NOT HAVE A SUMMER" she wails. Love your desk! it looks so productive:)
Christmas is creeping up and I'm on a mad catch up too!!! Hospitals huh!!! Your Christmas paper looks lovely - and the snowman is so cute too! Have a great WOYWW!
With only 90 days to go, and, for the monthly paid, just three pay days, it's not too early to be starting the Christmas preparations :) Like your snowman and is that a stamp of snowfalling that I see there.
Hope your trip to collect the dust filtration thingy - sounds absolutely essential for elf and safety - goes well. I'm off to the dreaded supermarket now - oh joy!
Happy WOYWW, Elizabeth x #77
eeek Christmas cards... not a thing I relish much...just not a card maker :( and pearlex..yes I remmeber them! LOL
Have a good day
x
How serious is that? You've broken out the chewing gum! That's a right fine happy cluttery mess you have there. It looks creatively happy though, so all is well with the world. Well, I see a 3:30 am nature call is what it takes to get in the double digits. Back to bed with this desert dweller. See y'all in the morning...um, the real, decent person's morning.
Oooh this is exciting! My first time here, Thanks for a chance to join in! Eeek! though, Christmas cards - not even given them a thought!
I love your desk, so many goodies to search out and study. Hope you have a good trip with the big van, and get all your counting done accurately and on time. xx Maggie #100
Fun snowman cards! You are so on the ball. I am still thinking about card options for this year. Decisions, decisions. You gave me a push to figure it out! Happy Wednesday!
Looking very Christmasy here!! That reminds me that I really should start thinking about my Christmas cards. Snowman card - cute!
Oh! Lovely mess indeed, inspiring too. Went to a stamp convention earlier this month. Thought I'd see some new mind blowing stuff, not so much everything 'old' was new again lol! Happy WOYWW!
Snowman looking very cute - I'm wondering how long I can hold out against the festive card fever... Looking forward to some more good hopping time!
Alison x
Its funny but those paints always remind me of the make-up sets that used to come with the old Girls World head models, do you remember them? All the counting and cutting (I very nearly got that the wrong way around...) will be worth it.
Too funny as I have gum on my post too! I couldn't locate yours.
Love your full and happy desk! The jar of buttons - wonderful! I've never made a Christmas card ever!
I can't wait to see your snowman card when you post! I miss the snows of Wyoming USA. We used to go downhill skiing though I rarely got to midway of the mountain. And I also have the Stargazers Pearl-Ex! Plumb forgot about them! Your desk is definitely in a creative state!
Carol N #113
You've just reminded me that I need to get on with my Christmas cards too. I love your snowman card.
Have a happy Wednesday.
Can't wait to see your snowman card. I used to make the pearl ex paint with pearl ex power and gum arabic. It was lovely. LisaDV#115
Oh no I have trouble leaving Halloween behind to get to Christmas! My first post here and looking forward to seeing what everyone is doing. What a great fun idea!
Happy to see someone is getting a jump on the holidays. You are making some very cute snowman creations! Thanks for sharing and thanks for hosting us! dix---
I admire all of the crafter's who are already starting Christmas projects. I need to get with it. Your card is lovely. I like the colors and the snowman is just adorable. dani 123
I'm sorry you're having an unexpected "sheet" day away from crafting and cutting. Thanks for hosting, as ever, as busy as you are!
I love puffy paint on cards it looks awesome, last years card for me had heaps of puffy paint on it. I nearly forgot to link my blog silly me, posted ages ago and forgot, ah that is what happens when I am in the middle of a big job somethings just take the back burner. Hope you have a great time in .... London.
Eliza
I like to get in early for Christmas but this year I really behind - love the paper with the words on your desk and the retro feel - Have a good week and enjoy your trip maybe there might be a craft shop on the way :)
I've never seen stargazers before... lovely colours! love that snowman.. Have a happy week, you might find some goodies in LONDON!! Hugs May x x x
Great to see that my lovely friend Antonia has made the top 3 again. Sandy Dallas
Hi there Julia I must be behind the times as not sure what puffy paints are :-( sure I will find out soon!!! I love the snowman sadly I've not found time to start my christmas cards yet. A few late nights in store for me methinks. Anne x #134
Whew, I made it, running late today. Good for you to start those Christmas cards early. I have to plan a few classes. Barb #134
Didn't sign in this week as I've been away and my desk remained static. Seeing your's from a different angle it's still full of business even though you escaped on dust filtration duties.

It's quite a productive looking desk - which is always a good thing!
I just managed to get squeezed in before Wednesday was out!

Bernice #69
It's still Wednesday in California and I am still lurking about. Love what you have on you work desk.
AND just a quick Thank You for getting WOYWW up and growing.
Krisha #40
I always enjoy seeing your desk Julia. I've been in a complete bluster of activity with the end of Summer and the start of the school year, home schooling for me and my 13 year old has decided he wants to graduate in 2 years so I'm almost dizzy setting up the curriculum to make it happen! Anyway, I was missing you all and jumped in at the tail end today.
Live long and chew more gum!
I am really really late this week but I still wanted to join in! jenx
I was so busy yesterday playing. I went to bed then remembered I hadn't uploaded my photos. So I am a day late. Better late than never.
You have a very productive desk.
Carol #144
Looks like I'm not the only one who's late this week! lol
Happy WOYWW!
Massive improvement on the desk front from last week Julia - even if it does have a Christmas card on that is staring at me and saying 'Yes - you haven't made any yet - even Julia can make time to do one'!!!
What a guilt trip Julia - are you trying to finish me off or something...!
Thanks for comment about the Grand Calibur and whether I'll be able to do it... well, the cuttlebug really is getting difficult for me - I suppose the fact that the B plates are shaped like bananas may not help - but I have to hold it down which needs muscle and sinue and nerves - all of which are damaged on that side and turning with fibro arms doesn't help the righthand side either. However, when ever I've seen someone on C&C use the GC - it looks smooth and easy. I suppose the only way for me to find out is to get it out of the box and try!!!!! lol
big hugs and thank you for caring.
Paula x x x
Julia - no, it is not a loo seat LOL. That certainly made me smile. What on earth did your mind do and what did you think when you thought it was? So funny.
It's foam - pads - to make the seat higher - long story, worktop put in too high seat won't go any higher - foam pads needed.Cannot believe someone is on the ball like you with the "C"cards.
Thanks for WOYWW bringing us all together. Shame I cannot make the meet.
Hugs, Neet #5 xx
Go Christmas...Go Christmas (the closest I'll get to being a cheerleader!) I love that paper! and the stargazer paints look interesting...though I might have something similar, but haven't really used...hmmm, where are they? They looked funny over pencils, but now with the DI markers...ideas, you have given me ideas....
I was 33 the night I added my link somehow got bumped to #34?
Hmmm chewing gum while amidst the motonony...I like that idea!
Loving the little snowman card! Can't wait to see the finished product. Love that christmas paper on the left too!
Happy WOYWW a day late!

Hi all,
This is my first time to participate, but I've loved looking at many of your work spaces and thought it was time to make an appearance.
Great spaces,

Sounds like you're one busy girl. I look forward to seeing the Autumn cards, my favorite time of the year, seems I just spend too much time makig Christmas cards and Autumn seems to just quietly slip by....Have a most wonderful week....thanks for being here for all of us crazy crafters.
I have dared to share my messy work desk!
I really should be on Christmas now, got Halloween to do too and running out of time!
