WOYWW 2 - just under the wire!

Here's Becky's desk....there was an er, transmission error yesterday. Which is why there is a picture today....I didn't publish it yesterday, it wouldn'tbe the same without a picture, huh! And Becky also wants you to know that the basket she describes is not the one you can see..she was having a basket moment; this one contains Crackle Paint and shimmery SU! products. It's OK Becky, we all have basket moments. Well, for 'all', read 'I'.
So here is the glorious mess called my desk this week. We have... some cases filled with Distress Ink, a basket with glue dots and other sticky items, some coupons, yah!, an open box of stamps from where I just stamped a birthday card, and a pile of no longer working watches that are soon to be taken apart for the neat gears and cogs inside. Yeah, there are rather a lot of broken watches, fro some weird reason, once the original battery in a watch has run out, even with replacing it with a brand, spanking new battery... the watch will not work. My Grandmother had the same problem. Weird. But gives me a bunch of great gears and such!
Happy WOWW and I will get to desks this week, I will get to desks this week, I will.... :)

I don't wear watches they seem to go backwards on me, or maybe that's just wishful thinking!. Lovely tidy work space...oh I can dream!!

Pulling apart watches is a GREAT idea. I have a similar problem with watches - they just stop on me. I can remember being a child of about seven, and receiving my first ever watch as a Christmas present. I can still remember how upset I was on Christmas day when I put it on, and it promptly stopped. Took it off, and it started working again. And repeat all day long, while I became increasingly distressed! I get a lot of static electricity shocks, and when I first used a computer I remember it seemed to affect the machine as well. Strange!

Oh what a great idea about the watches! I have quite a few of non working too, I can't wear one for more than 10 minutes without them suddenly going backwards or stopping all together :) The only reason I can think of is because I have a lot of static charge (good for zapping people when you shake hands, but drastic for watches).
*hugs* Heather x

I really have a thing about "Time" - love anything to do with it so watch parts are "wonderful" to me. I am now going to do the charity shops for old clocks, alarm clocks and things - great for Steampunk.

Love your storage - what's the cross piece at the top left?

Ooh great desks this week - not one but two - and wow there are 150 links this week - WOW!

It is rather amazing how we all have so much stuff that every week those shots can look so different, isn't it?

Where HAVE I been? Seems I totally missed this one. Watch parts are so much fun to play with and taking them apart can be fun, too. I try to get the old ones with gears and springs because in a previous life, I actually had the knowledge and tools to repair them. Now, with nothing but circuit boards and batteries, it's not as much fun. Lovely desk, though, and pegboards are always a good idea.
