What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Good grief, is it Wednesday already? (tempting this one - GGIIWA?). Of course, I know it is. Mr Dunnit left ridiculously early this morning, and by six o,clock instead of lying in my warm comfortable sanctuary of a bed thinking about the things that I need to do, I decided to get up and actually do some of them. Go me. So by the time Miss Dunnit and I set off for College, I'd washed the kitchen floor, dealt with the washing and tidied up the lounge after last night. I was making pom-poms with ribbon and tinsel and the mess - it looked as though someone had shredded a 2 metre length of tinsel into a perfect arc around my chair. Which to be honest, is what had happened. Plan B then, I think. Anyway, while Miss Dunnit was snoozing, I took a photo of my desk, because I thought today I would do a before and after. Last night I had to tidy up - it was monstrous; so early this morning it shows signs of the normality that belies the mess I know is coming!

But you can still see some things of vague interest - at the back leaning against the wooden card holder is a bunch of cards - for tomorrow's workshop and the week after. Actually using the card holder is obviously not what I had in mind when I whinged at Mr Dunnit to make it for me. There's the inevitable but new, larger basket of stamps to be cleaned. A load of peelings from the double sided tape - I don't know why. And even more inevitably, there are 3 pairs of scissors. Can you see my new Christmas Tree die by Quickutz? I've been coveting it for ages, and gave in yesterday. Well, a commission for 80 cards won't be as much fun if I'm not on the moral high ground using up scraps and making them christmassy in one fell swoop, huh! There's my dotty notebook too - a gift from Lyn. It's my oh so technical bookings book, to record Crop and 2 Scrap Ladies bookings, deposits and blah. Much easier to haul around than a PC and so much quicker to make a note in when someone thrusts an amount of cash at me to pay off or toward this or that. My excuse for being a Luddite. Works for me! So at the risk of shameless self promotion, I'll post a photo later, when the light's better and creativity has visited my workdesk. Ha!

Well here it is at cup of tea time..about 3.15 - I dunno about creativity, but I've done a few bits - according to the picture, I've used more tape! The wooden card holder is in use too, guilt and a tidy desk got the better of me! Am enjoying having a rummage through your WOYWWs - keep 'em coming!

Hi Julia, I use UHU for most things - though not felt. You could get a large tube for £1 at Poundland now you just get 60mls for £1, how stingy is that LOL It doesn't buckle paper, but is a bit 'stringy' IYKWIM

A very tidy desk there, Julia! Well done, you. I see your scrap box is still as overflowing as ever - better get that Quickutz tree in action, pronto! Would love to see it in it's full glory, though. I would've photo'd mine today but, alas, my camera battery has passed away and I can't find the charger - it's a thorough disgrace, anyway. So much so, that I'm going to clean it right now! :)

Hmmm - I have a horrible feeling that I have just left a comment on the wrong post about WOYWW - is this blog the official WOYWW place? If so - oops - my photos are over here!

Looks like you've been keeping busy. I promise mine is a bit more interesting than last week (only Just) and I did finally wash up my wine glass!! Hugs Pam x

Hi Julia,
You can take 'the moral high ground' twice today - once for intending to use up your scraps on cardmaking (but we've yet to see the evidence!) and secondly, for being up and about before everyone else!
That die looks very interesting actually - but no! I can't buy more Christmas craft stuff!!
My WOYWW is here http://cupboardcrafter.blogspot.com/2009/11/woyww_11.html
Thanks for dropping by already.

Glad you like my ribbon organiser my husband was a bit peeved when I stole the kitchen roll holder but he prefers that to the other house hold item I use for the ribbon that isn't on rolls I'll take my picture from the other angle next week and then you can have a good laugh! The rubber is one I acquired from my son (say no more!) and the chinese bowl is full of bits and bob the cars are craft paper cut using nesties which I haven't used yet!!!

Lol........Julia! OK, Ok.....Promarkers are in the colour labelled drawers! They were annoying me being all together in one big pot, having to delve in about 12 times before I found the colour I wanted! Seems to be a better system now!

I have a moan ...why cant I 'click to enlarge' this week ...and have a good nose around lol. How the H*** do you get so much done so early in the morning ....it takes me half an hour to get my eyes open. Like the new title for the Wednesday meeting.
I finally did my WOYWW ...tried three times but got interupted. Off to make a coffee and have a nose around. xx

Love the before and after shots Julia!

My before would be a mess and my after would be more of a mess.
I'm late this week - I did take my photo yesterday morning, but I was busy all day and didn't get to blog it - it's there now though.

Pretty darn good I think Julia, hardly any more mess at all!
I can only be this encouraging because I haven't got the technical skill to use a camera, so can't show you my workspace (thank heaven!) and DH gets enough hassle photographing my cards, couldn't possibly ask him to snap the table too.
Actually he probably would, but I don't think I've got the courage to explain to him why I would want him to!
