What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 543

How much faster can it go?!

My lovely Jan came to visit with her gorgeous G. They were valiant in living with the upheaval. It was great to have them here, lots of light relief! I’ve had to have a tidy round and clear my desk for some re-jigging of card ideas. You can see one at left...still not right, but I have an idea. At last. There’s the usual detritus but not so much of it. The bright pink tissue paper indicates the presence of gifts and the nuvo drops are in the the basket to make moving them a little easier...I’m off on scrapbooking retreat this weekend. Also in this horrid temporary light, note the floor in the extension has been tiled. So now, that hole behind my desk which was a door will magically become a stud wall.  And finally..I have no idea why the packing tape is on the desk. How odd. Amazing what you notice in a photo!  Please chime in and show and tell, as usual, put WOYWW in your post title, it makes finding it so much easier. Link here. I thank you.

  1. Morning Julia. Yup - like the proverbial bad penny, I'm back again from travelling around Britain! That floor looks great - we won't recognise anything next week if that gap is to become a wall!!! Great stuff going on there. Hope you manage to get your card ideas sorted. Have a good weekend away.
    Take care. God bless.

Loving look of card on left, and tape, it’s a mysterious thing and grows legs... I must get back to packing after water the garden!
    Happy WOYWW.

  3. Morning Julia, brrrr so chilly today. It's like your creative area has grown up over night it matures each visit. I'm intrigued to see it's transformation. That wooden backed script stamp will make a great background.. How uplifting for Jan & G to visit after the scrap retreat I hope you feel fully revitalised. Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey #3?
P.S After inspection I appear to have a random tape measure appear on my work desk.. :/

  11. I'm loving that autumn leaf card, especially in those gorgeouus red tones - reminds me of an Acer tree. Glad you had a lovely time with Jan and G, I bet lots of laughter was on the menu!
Have a great scrap booking retreat,

  12. Hello Julia! Your new floor looks wonderful! I just don't think I could go through that much renovation at this point in my life! You guys must be made of patience. It is going to be lovely when finished but I just hate the process myself! Thanks for letting me snoop this morning!

  13. Hi Lulia, you'll see when you visit mine that you're not the only one with some upheaval! But I know it will be worth it in the end. I had to smile at the packaging tape. I have several roles of that but it always seems to have disappeared when I need it, maybe it's with my crafting stuff in which case it may never be seen again. Have a lovely woyww, Angela x17x

  14. Looks like the building works are really coming along nicely. Now that leaf stamp looks very useful and I like the effects you got on the paper you sit your glasses on.

  17. I really can't up with the way time speeds by! I guess I'm just taking a bit longer about everything, jeez my blood pressure needs me to that's for sure!! Your desk looks busy and organised - am envious of a crafting retreat!! The tiles are great, do love a tiled floor. Certainly sounds like you are getting there..... Happy WOYWW Cindy

  18. Hello! I see great progress happening in your photo. How lovely to have Jan over for a crafty time. It's the best and did I hear you say that you are going to a scrapbooking retreat. Sounds like so much fun. I love our annual one but it is in limbo right now because the Inn we have it in is up for sale. So fingers crossed no buyers until we go or the buyers keep our dates. Have a lovely time connecting and crafting with friends!
    Hugs,
    Belinda

  21. Enjoy your weekend away - and with a bit of luck the renovations will have moved on when you get back.
It must have been lovely to have Jan and Gordon with you for the weekend, that's what good about old friends - you know they will fit in as what state your house is in.
Love the tiles on the floor, they will be so easy to keep clean and things will show up when you drop them - I don't mean beads either - I wouldn't wish those on anyone.
    Hugs, Neet 10 xx
