I am totally on your side dear Deskers. I am as fed up with the horror of my desk as you are, and this particular week, I'm in the middle of so much that instead of the shameful shambles and frankly, the difficulty involved in actually seeing anything, I'm taking you through the door to glance at the dining table. Here lies treasure:
I am enormously grateful and happy to have received so many and such fabulous ATCs to celebrate the W8YWW. I know the photo is affected by solar flare, bad placement, shadows and wonky preparation, but it took me an age to get this picture. I got carried away by techniques and colours and ideas. Each time I leaf through these, something else strikes me. They are wonderful. What strikes me most, gazing at this picture, is how only one person made an ATC in the landscape format. Obviously, it's not against the rules, but if it makes your teeth itch to see the row format broken, blame LLJ the maker, not me!
Another message from the dining table. Small word, big meaning. Thanks.
You know that flexibility I'm always on about when it comes to commenting? I crave more of your indulgence. Last week was terribly busy and I did very little visiting. This week I will have some time, but it probably wont be before the weekend, so please, be patient with me. And while you wait, please, join us by showing what's on your Workdesk this Wednesday. Put WOYWW in your post title, link here. Enjoy inspiration and feel admiration. And make a friend or two. You know you want to.
what a beautiful bunch of atcs.. but did mine not arrive? I don't see it there. I hope it wasn't lost in the post. Anyway, you have a gorgeous selection.. even if the landscape format one upsets the symmetry! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI really have to get into making ATCs. It is such a pleasure to exchange and collect!patsy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful selection of ATC's you have there Julia. The landscape one just draws your eye to it but they are all fab hugs Nikki 2
ReplyDeleteI love the ATCs you shared and was glad to see mine had arrived. These give me ideas for W9YWW now!
ReplyDeleteYou are our leader, so you deserve them. WE need to be thanking you. And please don't worry about visiting. I for one, understand that real life often gets in the way of virtual life.
What a beautiful selection of ATCs and well deserved. Don't worry about not visiting, you've earned the privilege occasionally. I'm hoping to have the same timetable next year as this and not have to work on Wednesdays. It's the only way I manage to visit so many desks. Sarah #8
ReplyDeleteNo rules I am afraid, in the making of atc's, so Jan could have not been the only one - looks a bit as if she was. Know what you mean about lining up for a photo though.
ReplyDeleteIt's us that are saying "thanks" to you for bringing about so many hands of friendship throughout the years. Even those no longer participating are numbered amongst friends. Thanks Julia.
Hugs, Neet 10 xx
I aim to please 😊 Have you packed yet??!
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ 11 xx
Love the ATCs Julia....there has to be one doesn't there?....and who better? No one is more deserving of all that love coming your way. You are the glue that holds us all together 😀 Super glue!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
Annie x
Gorgeous selection of ATC's Julia .. such precious keepsakes Love them all thank you for sharing and for all the lovely years of visiting crafty desks and you still continue to bring us together each week x x Have a happy week ahead...May#12
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bunch of ATC and hope you have a fabulous week.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, love them all and you too, well everybody really! Maybe next year we should see if we can really mix it up by not using portrait. Now that's got my little brain going Lol! Have a great woyww, Angela x14x
ReplyDeleteLove Annie's comment - if you have any super glue to spare - my face could do with a quick squirt - lol.(See my today's post) Lovely ATCs - they are such a talented bunch aren't they. Thanks for your Julia - I love it and will post them all next week as Annie still has a couple of mine. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteWhat super ATCs, that's about all I have to show on my desk today too. I have added my page from last week with the painting/background. Not what I envisaged - typical me though! Bit behind today as it is my son't first A-level exam today so had to sort him first, 20 days to go to finish them. BJ#17
ReplyDeleteOh you lucky Julia, you! And I thought I was spoiled :D Thank you for hosting such a wonderful swap - I so enjoyed it!
ReplyDeletexx
Lovely ATC selection. Had I joined then there would probably have been a second landscape ATC as I make a lot of mine that way ... the one on my blog today for instance!
ReplyDeleteSorry to have been AWOL lately - vacationing in Florida is my pathetic excuse!
Happy WOYWW everyone

They are indeed a thing of beauty. It's such a joy to receive lovely bits of art in the post isn't it and makes up for all the rubbish we get for the rest of the year.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week
Hugs Lisax #23
What a fabulous collection of ATC's. I've had a close look at them and it always amazing me how peoples imagination and skills manage to come up with such beauties. I've kept the ones I've received over the years and they are on display and often commented on. Thanks Julia for making such a great group

Diana x #26
Happy WOYWW. A fab selection of ATCs. It is brilliant to look back at over the years. I only visited a few last week - I blame life! Ali x #29
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collection of ATCs! Love how LLJ broke the mould and thought outside the box! I've missed it this year, but the great thing about WOYWW is that it is so constant (no doubt due to your dedication, Julia!) so I have no reason to fear that there won't be another opportunity to join next year! Happy 8th anniversary - that's longer than some marriages LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour lovely ATC arrived today. Thanks Julia for bringing us all together. Gives me so much pleasure to see my collection of woyww atc's.

ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteMy workdesk too is in total disarray - the room is being reorganised as we speak.
Lovely to see your latest ATC's. My Embroiderer's Guild have an ATC swap. You're inspiring me to have a go.

That's a great collection of ATCs, Julia! Nicely laid out, too. I like the landscape one which gives an unexpected twist to an otherwise ordered layout lol!! Good for LLJ!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,
Shoshi #34
Can't kinky today ( sorry that autocorrect is better than linky so it will remain thus... ) I have had a deluge of Atcs so I am La poste bound to return the love just need Neets full Addie ( or I can risk house number and postcode?) and I will be back in give take equilibrium... I always thought LLJ is a bit special.....
ReplyDeleteI'm here.
ReplyDeleteI'm slowly coming out of craft hibernation - but how long it will last remains to be seen as I'm about to crack on with CIPD, and that's a min 8 hours study per week on top of working full time. And gardening on Sundays (paid gig). And knitting for a baby. And supporting Lil Miss B on her round of Uni visits.
Sigh
Would you like an ATC?
Pleased you receive my ATC safely Julia .isn't it fabulous the wonderful artistic skills people have.A very BIG thank you as we wouldn't all here without you. WOYWW 9 will be here before we know it.Big crafty hugs and have a great week ahead Andrea #27 xx

Hi Julia, your collection of ATCs are lovely and I'm glad to see mine arrived safely - eventually! I appreciate ATCs for their variety. Your comment on the formats had me checking out my collection from previous years and you'll not be surprised to learn that only one of those is in landscape format too. Perhaps LLJ has set a trend for W9OYWW. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #37
ReplyDeleteSmashing collection there.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for hosting such a great time, loved it all.
have a great week

WOW! Awesome post and awesome ATC! I am still in the process of finishing the ones I started for the few I am swapping with. They should be posted in the next couple days. Hope you have a great week and thanks for hosting this group the past 8 years! Vickie #43
ReplyDeleteI am grinning because, when I used to do atc's I did most of mine landscape lol... they all look super Julia :) don't worry about the commenting, I think everyone gets busy when they have more sunshine to go out and about in too
ReplyDelete~Stacy #40
Lovely ATC collection, Julia, it was great fun. I am half tempted to put a 'this way up' on my next one, tho, as a few people showed input upside down despite the writing! 😏 Not that it matters.
ReplyDeletehave a good week, hugs, Lynne xxx
What lovely ATCs. Thanks for sharing them. Thanks once again for leading us in sharing. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteFabulous ATCs!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit, Julia, and yes, "Go with the flow!" sounds like pretty good advice to me! The UFOs can go hang... at least for now! I think they're an occupational hazard for us all.
ReplyDeleteShoshi
Love the thanks. What company is that. I do believe that would look lovely on my cards.
