What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 352

There are instructions on pages linked at the top of this blog if you want to join us. Any probs, email me. Or comment here. Don't comment on the pages (even though you can) because I forget to look!
Hey ho. Here's my mess today:
My word that's a clear picture isn't it...the camera has shown way more than I expected! It's nothing I'm ashamed of though, so I'll explain a bit and see if it's even vaguely interesting. Inevitable there's my glasses. And an ice cream pot full of refills and re-inkers which I recently found in my old workroom. Aka the Room of Shame. Aka The Wrapping Room. etc. Despite their lengthy hide out, they are all OK, so I shall assimilate them into my stash soon-ish. You can just see too on the near right, the shelves that hold my stamps and other stuff. There's a tin of what was playing cards but are actually now ATCs. Mine to send to others...the received ones are much better treated! Just on the floor, but supposed to be under the desk, is my tote for scrapbooking. You know you have more stuff than you need when such things don't need to be unpacked in between crops! It all looks clear and ready to roll huh. Well it is. I finished prepping for a Workshop on Thursday evening (stuff now cluttering a seat in the lounge) so the table itself is momentarily clear. But not for long. Or so I intend. Share with us your work surface, and what you're up to - it's inspiring. Put WOYWW in your post title and link here; we'll visit.

  1. I can picture you standing just inside the doorway taking this photo. Great angle, you get lots in... love the clear space on your desk; hope you get some play time soon, and that the workshop tomorrow goes well.

Have a great week my friend.

  4. That's not much of a mess, Julia! You can do better than that! Ha ha! My ATCs are in a clearbook for baseball cards. And also in a scrapbook. Once when I was making my trip to Europe scrapbook, I asked for travel ATCs in exchange for mine, and now I loooove my Europe scrapbook! So art-filled!!! Happy WOYWW, Julia! patsy

  8. I remember when ATC's were all the rage and Jo bought me a little book to keep mine in. Was great to carry around with you to do swaps at shows etc. Folks don't seem to do that swapping nowadays though. I must remember and do a blog about my various ATC thingies.
Great desk show Julia, not sure I could keep my bag packed from one crop to another - you must have lots of stuff.
    Hugs, Neet 1 xx

  16. I had to make sure I had come to the right blog, as I have never seen your desk so bare. Maybe we should take bets on how quickly it will be back to normal:)

  17. Hi Julia. Love the shot of your desk today great viewing angle. It's so light too. Your desk looks so empty in comparison to how it usually is so I expect something exciting is about to happen! Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 22

  18. It's a picture of organisation, but if you're anything like me it's all too brief.

  19. oooooh I love that feeling of a clear desk just begging to be trashed! I also still haven't unpacked my bag from the last crafty gathering - no point now, it's nearly time for the next one! :o) Happy WOYWW!! Annie C #25

  25. It's been an age since I visited, but lovely to see your desk again Julia. Like you, I never unpack my tote either, it is permanently ready to go. I am looking forward to popping round to say Hi to some old faces, Judith xx

  26. Great desk pic - very tidy. Love how everything is ready to go. Your huge pink tape gun always fascinates me, not sure I could lift it to use it!! Lol Take care Zo xx

  27. Don't you just love finding long forgotten art supplies you never knew existed? Of course, it helps if they still work! Would love to take closer look at your Room of Shame! I'm sure it's not as bad as you make it sound! I mentioned you on my blog today, Julia - you might want to take a peek (otherwise it's like talking behind your back, LOL!) :))

  28. You have a good space to work, so you have a great desk. Finding stash is always a plus, especially if it all is still in working order. Your term "room of shame" gave me a chuckle. Glad to know I'm not the only one who has such a place. I make no headway trying to declutter in there. Have a wonderful week. Thanks for hosting.

    ReplyDelete
  29. So I 'officially' don't have enough stash/tools as I have to unpack after each time I take my craft bag out!!

2nd week on the trot so I am doing well!

  30. This is an interesting perspective. I can see that I'm not the only one that uses the bottom of my drafting table for storage boxes too. Good luck with your workshops and blessings!

  31. Ooh I love this angle! Your workdesk looks every inch an artist's desk. No shame here...just creativity. Although now I'm sure we're all wanting a peek at the room of the shame! That could be a great metaphor. Anyhoo, are playing cards ATC size? I never thought of that. Brilliant! Happy Wednesday. Sandy Leigh

  36. Hi Julia,

I can relate to having too much stuff! Funny how the camera sometimes shows more than what is intended! tee hee

I don't know if I'd feel that way if I had a dedicated craft room though. It seems that over the years I've bought duplicates because I NEED IT NOW and couldn't lay my hands on it!

    Happy WOYWW
    Hugs,
    Kay

  37. I thought the purpose of a traveling bag was to have all the tools and such you mind need in it and not have to pack and repack it all the time? You mean we're not supposed to have duplicates of everything (three times over)?! Huh? Who knew! PJ #47

  38. Your desk from a different angle. Great that you are doing workshops. I wish i could come...
    Have a good week,

  39. Ohhh a new angle peek! Isn't it amazing to find things that you think are really truly dead, but they turn out to be most sincerely not! I've discovered a few such items in my recent cleaning and reorginzing spree. It's like finding an old friend lol! Have a wonderful Wednesday my far away friend..

  40. What a tidy area. My husband and I have dubbed my studio... The Clown Car. Just when I think I've got everything in place, something else materializes... much like your ice cream tub of stuff from the other room. LOL. Have fun at your workshop tomorrow! Creative Blessings! Kelly #49ish

  41. Hi Julia, must say your desk looks quite clear today, all ready for you to start. Pleased to see I'm not the only one to save old plastic tubs, whatever the size for storage

  42. I have some atcs on noticeboards near my desk and others in tins like yours in a drawer.
I also have lots of tupper ware repurposed into crafting storage!

  43. Glad your stash from the other room is still ok and now out on your desk. Have a great week of crafting Linda #51

  44. I have exactly the same playing card tin. I bought it with grand plans of decorating to house ATCs. It never happened. You're not surprised are you? Hope the workshop goes well tomorrow. That's me done for two weeks now.

  45. Great shot, Julia - sort of puts the desktop into perspective... Well done on the prep - enjoy Thursday evening. I'm late to the party today - actually had 24hrs away!

  46. I found TONS of old, forgotten and neglected stash when I moved into my new craft room. It was like 20 Christmas's came all at once!
You desk looks brilliant, everything to hand, a real working environment. Hmmm...must work on that look myself.....but just can't seem to mess my room up for long at the moment.

  47. Julia, I love this long view perspective shot of your desk. ( it really makes it look more like you do have more room than the normal 12" that so many of us have haha. also, what is in the clear box under the atg gun?
    ( it doesn't matter just nosy) ;)

  52. I'm so glad you don't intend for it to stay that way for long! And I find not needed to unpack between crops a sign of efficiency; not a surplus of stash! So good for you!

  53. Empty desk at my place too... Ok, not empty.
But I mean nothing going on today... ;)

    Have a nice week!

  54. Thanks for your return visit, Julia, and you are right - with the guitar playing, the only way through is through, and no pain, no gain lol! It's a pretty painful experience but that's what happens when you neglect it for several years! The callouses will come eventually but I have to keep at it and it's not very pleasant! I am definitely feeling a lot better these days and feeling very encouraged to be getting my life back, and taking up things again that I thought were gone for good. The biscuits went down very well on the chemo unit this p.m. with chemo-ites and staff alike, and I had some lovely conversations with several people.

  56. Lots of nice clear space to get busy on - and I have spotted a well used adhesive remover there - glad to see I'm not the only one who needs one! Thanks for calling earlier - no worries about my fainting fit - I have very low BP but a rare blood group so like to donate when I can - so sometimes if I rush about too soon afterwards I tend to collapse unexpectedly - but thankfully never in a shop before!!

  57. I certainly like the view from this angle. It's fun to see the other sides of your desk as well as your back yard.

Hope all is well. I'm so far behind in my life right now, I can't join in, but hope to soon. Still, I'll wish you a lovely week and weekend, too.
