Really? I Did that? How embarrasing.

Yesterday was workshop day at Kraft Crazy.  Which means I turn up loaded with card kits, materials and enthusiasm to conduct a workshop - this summer, I've tried to theme them.
Because I've been rather stupidly busy and had my head elsewhere, yesterday I had to get up super early to finish the kitting preparation.  The workshop had a lot of die cutting involved and I hate it when people have to wait or share, it holds everyone up.  You know.  
The not so wise Owl...Magenta, Hero Arts and a Cuttlebug folder.
Generally, I turn up and the samples that I've pre-delivered to the Shopkeeper Gal are ready for me to match up with appropriate kits and off we go.  Imagine my horror then, to spend 20 seconds staring at the samples laid before me to realise that they did not match the kits I'd been up since 5am preparing!  Argh and ahmaagard!
Yep, I'd kitted the wrong workshop.  I kept my manners and did not swear out loud.  

Cuttlebug folders, woodware stamps, Graphic 45....

It took less than five minutes to ascertain the level of interest in the workshop I had prepared.  So I went home and re-kitted, at speed.  The girls were marvellously forgiving and managed to complete the workshop by one o'clock, despite the hour-and-a-bit late start, and what's more, they seemed to enjoy it. The evening version went much more smoothly and started on time.  Funny, that. 
It'll be a while before I get over it though, I must say . Colour me a professional!

 I'm sharing this on Annie's Friday smile...because it's nothing if not ridiculous!  Have a lovely weekend.

    Oh, poor you - but at least it's a workshop they'll never forget heehee! Seriously, I'm glad it turned out well for everyone, and you had such a good time. I love the birdie card - especially the one on his back! Love, Chris x

    Hehehe It's good to see even you make mistakes ;-) I bet if that hole had opened up you would have happily crawled into it. Pleased to hear the outcome was a good one and everyone enjoyed their day....I'm sure you're worth waiting for.

    ah great two cards, Julia I really love them both ..
    it would bring a smile to prepare this at your class, even if took a bit longer to start (more time to look at shopgirl's shop :D)

    Oh my goodness, I can well imagine the horror of that moment. I've left pre-cut card at home on the kitchen table before now, but I always take a few spare sheets of the colours I'm using for a particular class and I was able to cut on the spot. I'm not organised enough to have samples for the next class ready to share, so my attendees never know what's coming until the day. I think that's a very good thing!

    Ah...human! Awesome! You know I think anyone who teaches classes like this has had an oh no! moment just like this. If they say they haven't I worry about them! Love the cards btw!

    Oh poor you, Julia. I know we have all been there a time or two before when we've forgotten something or brought the wrong ink or paper, so I sympathize. But, I'm glad to hear all the class particpants were so good natured about the mishap! TGIF!

    Thank goodness you live close enough to rush home and do this. I have been in a pickle before when I have left the sample of a double scrap page at the store while trying to kit off a photo...I ALWAYS forget something! I too live close enough to be able to rush home and get it though. Thanks for making us all feel human! and normal even!

    It's the sort of thing I had nightmares about doing when I ran training courses for teachers! Everyone makes mistakes and you put it right so don't beat yourself up. AND thanks for telling us - no doubt we all had a smile thanks to you! x Jo

    Thought of you again last night...1:20am to be exact as I was designing the 4 cards for the 9am class...You see my class was booked blind...no samples were created! At least I could not take the wrong kits...but this was leaving things a little on the late side. I too had my reasons, but my mojo was just a little slow to the party!

    You just made my heart sink 6 feet goodness knows what it did to you. Bet that was a slap yourself silly moment ahhh we all have them, just laugh it out, all worked out fine in the end. Just don't do it again. LOL

    OMG - I can only imagine your horror. Getting up at 5 am to do the wrong kit is just salt in the wound! But alas, we are all truly human and we each take a turn at wearing the crown of Space Queen. I think I wear my crown a little too often. If that happened to my workshop leader, I'd totally understand and just be patient as we all should. So good for you Julia! You kept your decorum and remained calm in a crisis!!
