What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 252

HERE is a 'how to' join in WOYWW, you're welcome.  Here is an explanation of the WOYWW madness.  And HERE is how we're going to mark the fifth anniversary of ourselves, the week after some of us get together for the WOYWW Crop.  Enough links already.
Week 252 for goodness' sake.  I've barely tidied up after 251. Actually I did tidy, but that was a couple days ago before the 'running out of time to do anything' panic set in.  And then of course, I tend to largely just make a mess.  View from the edge....

Oh my gawd.  There's space Captain, but not as we know it.  This is as I left it at 1030 on Tuesday morning.  The overhead shot is even worse..and I held the camera higher so as to get a wider shot to erm, spread the mess a little.  I never, ever stand on my chair or attempt feats of nimble danger when doing these photos...I just have the longest arms that a short fat woman could ever have.  That was intended to distract you...I can actually hear you, at your computer, taking a breath of shock...

And worse.  Now I've returned and looked at it again..that card has to come apart.  Hmmm.
So now gentle Desker, make your revelations.  We'd like to visit and your presence on the link list will act as our invitation.  Please put WOYWW in your post title so that we can find it, even if we're late, and please - make it desk relevant. Join here!

Happy Wednesday when it actually arrives here in The UK.

  4. Julia we seem to have done the same this week given a couple of views of our desks that both seem to be rather full as we have not tied up much !!!

  8. You caught me out posting early, was just scheduling my post and opening up your blog on a tab so I could link quickly when I wake in the middle of the night... and it is already here! Quick re-jig of the post and bingo!!
April Fool's Day used to be my wedding anniversary - yes, really!! (long story, maybe I'll tell you at the crop!) would have been 25 years this year... wow!!
and I love your desk, it's busy, not messy... not sure where you'll work though!

  9. Hahh! Good April's Fool joke! What the linky list disappear in an hour! I daren't show Andrew your desk this week, he freaked out last week when I left your blog up after linking my post up!! Yes it's messy but do we care? I mean really?!!!

  11. That seriously caught me on the hop. I just did a refresh, ready to link up later and you were there already. As you will find, I could not even show you my inside desk this week. I haven't even seen it this week as my garden has become my crafting area for the moment. I hope you will forgive me for that breach of rules. I am really looking forward to the Crop and meeting so many of you. Off to bed now, so I hope to visit as many as possible later on. Meanwhile night night and have a good week. xx Maggie #13

  13. Wow, you are early today, Julia! I hadn't even started my post when Patsy came to my house to tell me the WOYWW post was up! I don't mind your mess at all but I had a giggle at "will show knickers for chocolate"! Happy WOYWW!

  14. Well hello Tim Holtz idea-ology and crop-a-dile! Isn't it amazing that here I am in the middle of America with some of the same things on my desk? AND I too have long arms for a short fat woman!! Only I'm not a lovely English rose...but if I keep watching my British shows (Call the Midwife, Mr. Selfridge and my beloved Downton) maybe I'll turn into one!! Hugs! Sandy Leigh

  15. Hi Julia,

With everything on your desk the only thing that really jumped out at me is the coaster (?) that says Will show knickers for chocolate! Tee hee.

  16. I don't think that looks too bad, Julia! It's just busy and productive! A tidy desk may indicate an idle desk!

I have really short arms and can never reach anything! I have a little pair of steps that I use to get a better view of things, and to reach stuff from high shelves. I've got another in the kitchen and they are really useful!

Have a great week, and thanks again for hosting us unruly mob of deskers.

  21. Hahaha Julia I love your desk shots...if I took a wider shot of mine it would look exactly the same! Just means that we have been busy working and creating :-). 37. If you look at my post this week you'll feel so much better. Your desk is perfectly neat compared to mine! I still giggle every time I see the knickers for chocolate thing, that's so cool. I have to wobble on a chair as I'm a short armed, short fat woman and believe me it isn't a pretty sight with bum out and wobbling over a desk!!
Have a great week, looks like your spring has sprung outside.

  45. Since taking my photos for today's WOYWW you want to see the state of my desk.
I changed my mind that many times about what I'm going to be doing I've now got most of my craft stash on the prepared tables for my workshop. It's going to take me hours to put it all right and I still haven't got any finished samples ready

    ReplyDelete
  46. great crafty desk as usual, spotted a must-have - purple Stazon! Will have to look out for that, Donna

    ReplyDelete
  47. Happy WOYWW. Not sure what the other comments are about, as I have been absent from my pc since Saturday! Wish my desk was messier, as that would mean I actually have time to sit down and do some crafting. Next week will mean a whole week to myself - and hubby is away for 4 days too - so I can really get on with my sewing/cards/scrapbooking/journaling then!! Ali x #61

  48. Very busy desk Julia. Glad to hear that you don't balance on chairs or swing from lampshades to get your interesting shots.

  56. What a fun filled desk there Julia! I am chuckling as I don't climb up either, I would fall for sure, and my short arms get in some of my desk in one shot. Really love how you look out when you are creating!!

  58. I'm chuckling at the cheeky coaster. :D Loving the creative mess too, as always. I always seem to have to tidy up before I can get anything done - probably my form of procrastination really.

That's my kind of desk you have there Julia! Although I wish I could decide whether or not I needed one of those Cropodiles. A vexing crafty dilemna!

  69. LOL! You had me choking on my coffee as I read how you don't attempt feats of nimble danger. Wise words....as my only concession to the stupidness of me getting on my swirly desk chair is to take off my slippers.'cause that is sooo much safer!
    Have a great week.

  80. You might be interested to know that you can run your soda cans through your die cutter. It doesn't hurt the die or the machine, but if your die is old, there might be a slight burr on the edges of the cut can, so be careful when you remove them from the machine.

    ReplyDelete
  81. That is certainly a busy looking desk...do you do the trick of shoving everything to the sides and back to find that little bit of space for actual crafting?! Thanks for sharing! Happy WOYWW. Caro x (#102)

  92. Julia, Thanks for your visit, very late in returning it. Unfortunately it is always my turn to do the locks, there is only me and himself on the boat and as I am not keen on driving in the locks, operating them seems to be my job. However they are all narrow locks, not like the big ones on the K&A down there near you. We plan to do those next year.
That card with the big bloom, which is coloured in with pro makers is one that has been around a long time whilst I try to find out what do to finish it. Will post when i eventually do it.
