..the story of this week. if not my life.

I'm still visiting WOYWWers.  I relish the sights and ideas.
I'm still picking paint and primer off my skin after some weekend Joinery work.
I've done the bookwork.
I've even done real cleaning type housework.
I didn't get into the garden with the electric trimmer...a tool I really enjoy!
There is a pile of ironing waiting for me.  I'm still ignoring it.
I've only got to make one more card for the 'Cards for Men' workshop in a fortnight.
I've only got one more card to make to meet my quota for the Card Marathon.
I ought to unpack and tidy away the contents of the baskets after last night's workshop. But I probably won't.
My desk looks even worse than it did on Wednesday.
This is the third re-make - the tag has stayed the same throughout.  I think I've finished with it now.
But my kitchen is clean.
I've got to get ready for Crop - and you know how I need natural light and oodles of time.
I need to get fuel.  I didn't tell my passenger but last night we came home on vapours.
I need to finish the written instructions for the Card Marathon, but I can't because I haven't finished the cards.
My car needs a wash.  I've had it three months and it's not showroom clean any more.
Grocery shopping may well become a priority after Mr Dunnit has cooked his own supper tonight.  I predict beans on toast.
I'm still living and breathing.
The change to British Summer Time has done wonders to the feeling of spring.
The things I can control are all on my 'To Do' list.
The things I can't...well, I've learned to let them go.
At lunch time I'm going to Chichester.  Miss Dunnit's sweet boyfriend is at University there. He's a classically trained trumpet player.  A Music student.  The Performance Dissertation is today. I wanna be in the audience.  To show that card making, grocery shopping, ironing...whatever it is...nothing matters like the support of someone who loves you.
It's not a lesson, but it's worth knowing.

  1. It may not be a lesson, but it's really important to the person giving the dissertation. Ask me, I know!!

Yep, the laundry will wait, so will the clean car. But the fuel is necessary, I fear!

  4. Wow, lady, it's a wonder you have time to draw breath! You've def got your priorities right - family and friends come first, with ironing w-aaay down the list! Hope the recital goes well. Have a great week, and take time to enjoy! Love for now x

  5. Hi Julia,

I'll be visiting the majority of desks today, finally. I knew this would happen this week.

Your list looks similar to mine, if I'd write it down! Last night I had popcorn for dinner; not bad but it's time to go to the grocery store, which I HATE.

My dad is coming to visit tomorrow so I MUST at least pick up the downstairs, give everything a good dusting and some craft supplies hidden away.

    Now onto the desks...

    Hugs,
    Kay

  6. Yep, still visiting too. As for ironing- my system is fold it up, stack it with stuff that needs 'pressing' on the bottom, rofl! Unless its fusible fibres, its probably never going to meet the iron, lol. And yes, friends and family are what is important- nobody will remember you ironed their t-shirt, they will remember you supported them. Hugs, Shaz xx

  7. Giving your support and what I am sure will be enjoyment to your daughters boyfriend will be far nicer than anything else on your list.

  8. That's. Very supportive of you!
I am sure he will be really pleased by your support
Much more important than ironing etc

  10. Love the colours you have used on the card Julia. Hope you enjoyed the music event as that is way more important than ironing or tidying up.

    Have a great weekend.

  12. Idle hands are the devil's tool. So good to see you got the old bugger running around chasing his tail!!! So much to do and so little time, I think that is a mantra for all of us. I think you're priorities are in the right place though and that's what counts. Lovely card too! Don't forget to pencil in a potty break!

  14. Life is forever getting in the way of crafting but we have to support our loved ones.
I was forced this week to do the ironing as it sarted to fall out of the basket, anyway it's done now for a while but noticed today that the linen basket is also full so it looks like the whole process is about ot start again lol!
    Love the card Julia x

  16. phew, I am exhausted just reading that!

I agree, ironing and car washing (but not refuel) can wait....making the effort to go to to the dissertation is SO much more important....after all the ironing will still be there (unless you get an ironing fairy...or pay someone...I must admit I have taken mine to a place that does ironing on 2 occasions when it was all getting too much-worth every penny to remove the stress I can tell you!

Kyla ps remember to breath hun!!

  17. Ironing....never buy clothes that need ironing
family members who buy need to be ironed do it themselves. This led DH to go to 99c cleaners. Now retired he never wants shirts or the trappings of Iron siders!

  22. You are right, it's not a lesson..but we all need to be reminded every now and again to show some love. Hope it went well and that you managed to get all the paint and primer off before you went. Cx

  23. While you are cleaning your car, Julia, can you do mine as well, please. It has been with me for about 8 months and is so far from clean. In fact, it is just filthy, and Sahara sand and sea spray have not improved the situation. xx Maggie
