What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 150

This photo was taken on Tuesday at about 5pm.  It looks much, much worse now. I've finished the card I was working on and without even attempting to tidy up, I started another, completely different, not even for the same workshop! You can see a little easel with WOYWW calligraphed on the canvas...a gift all the way from Shaz in Oz.  The Union flag scrapbook papers are for...something. I know not what.  Yet.  One sheet is in pieces after I made one card.  But I know myself well enough to buy two pieces at a time, so it's OK!  The pile of red boxes right in the centre front are refill tapes for my ATG gun.  I like the 6mm width and they are currently 3 for 2 at 3mselect.co.uk, which is a bargain.  Meanwhile you can see I was listening to BBC iPlayer - Henning, a German comedian who has a show on Radio 2 on Saturday evenings...love it.
And if you're still awake...here are my stamp shelves...built into the corner for reasons of space and badly in need of sorting.  The sheets of clear stamps on the bottom shelf are looking precarious because I was leafing through them when I suddenly had the thought to take the photo and there was nowhere and nothing to do but dump them!

We're six weeks away from the third anniversary of WOYWW. (It will be week 156).  Can you believe that?  Well, I wanna know if you'd like to mark the occasion; we did last year and overall it was a great success and some fun.  How about this year we trade WOYWW ATC's? On the day, send an ATC to the name below you on the list.  The last on the list sends to the first on the list so there's a good old loop, and if you don't wanna participate, but still wanna show off your desk, that will be easy too....if you like the idea, mention it in your comment and I'll do a proper 'how to do it' post nearer the time.  Meantime...

Show us this week's desk, work surface...upload a photo to your blog and link here. Please put WOYWW in your title and when you visit anyone, leave a quick comment that includes your link list number....makes it easier for your visitee to erm, visit thee.  I thank you.

  16. Morning Julia, Not knowing what time you'd post the link I slept like a log - thanks you for changing it. I was debating getting up and then remembered and jumped out of bed to post my link. I was #8 when I sent the link then refreshed and became #12. Hey but still way further up the list :)) I'd love to do the ATC thing (wondering what the PIF thing was from last year though??). I just bought little easels for my craft group UKPC as they are so cute and great for displaying stuff, we're going to do a SWAP with the canvases which came with them. Really must get sorted for DS and school.........Later BJ #12

  38. I missed out last ear but this year I will hope to join in! What a fun community we have built here - and I am SOOOOOOOOO happy to have a much improved computer and a solid connection for the first time in MONTHS, it seems. But grrrr to Blogger. It's doing yet another annoying thing (showing the blog briefly then going to a white screen with the loading bar just waiting waiting waiting, this IN ADDITION to the comment window disappearing on some) and there have been at least 3 blogs in the first 10 that had stuff I wanted to comment on or ask about. It's driving me MAD. Ah well. If it all worked properly it would be boring, no?

  53. Oh yes, you caught me out with the time this week. I had completely forgotten about the change of time for posting and just assumed it was Mr Linky playing up again. My fault! I have never done ATCs so that will be something new for me to try. You do have a lot of lovely stamps to play with, it makes my collection look a bit thin, but then I tend to the see through variety these days to make things easier when you want to create a scene with them. Thanks for sharing this week and for being such a good hostess. xx Maggie #59

  109. Hi Julia, thanks for your comment, I seem to be doing "catch-up" with replying to posts as I have been at badminton this morning, first time in 3 weeks! Do you actually know what geocaching is then? Not many do. My Leap page was geocaching too, I seem to be the only one left doing it in this family - BJ#12

  115. Creative looking work space this morning. Love that corner shelving. Haven't made an ATC in a few years, but count me in and I will see what I can come up with. No post from me today, still very busy with babysitting new ggrandhild and runing errands as they do not have a car right now. I know - excuses, excuses, LOL.

  119. I love the idea of WOYWW ATCs and hope that many can play and show them off in future WOYWW posts.

Great messy desk today! Clean desks are the sign of a serious psychosis. Thanks for the peek at your shelves too. You've got lots of great stamps there! I love the pile method for the clear stamps. I have a similar method.

  122. Hi Julia et al - better late than never! I was SO wet, cold and miserable when I got home from work at lunchtime that I got a hottie and a milky drink and went off to bed for a couple of hours! How depraved can you get?! My excuse is that the CH boiler is on the blink. Anyway, warmer and awake now, so will start my blogland tour - hope you are all perky. xx

  127. LOL ! Yeah desk is a lot messy this week :o I am actually quite embarrassed by the state of it.

The 'castle' is actually a wee wooden bird house and its adorable! I'm going to alter it for the print tray along with the wooden birds. Just need the time to make a start on it.

  129. Your desk looks all disheveled like it enjoyed a lovely roll in the...tape gun. ;-)
Your wood stamp corner, on the other hand, looks like it received some sort of wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am treatment! lol
I wonder how you will sort that out?! I'm always interested in how other people get organized...I left a few more details on how I do on my WOYWW post for this week.
And I forgot to comment last week! Where was my head? Thanks for hostessing us and I think some celebration is absolutely in order. I would love to do an atc swap...I have never participated in one! So I hope you post some detailed directions, I mean if everyone decides its a good idea and you go ahead with it, of course. #146~Deeyll

  134. Ooops nearly forgot to leave you a comment! I love your corner shelving storage area - great way to display your stamps. When I'm crafting I usually listen to Radio 4 dramas or my favourite is Frank Skinner's podcast on Absolute Radio although that's only twice a week.

The ATC anniversary idea is fab - count me in!

  144. Would love to play in the anniversary ATC. Unfortunately I dont have a WOYWW this week to show, spent 2 days in hospital, one for hubby and one for me and too many followup MRI, etc etc to make anything on my desk look any different from last weeks. Didnt even take a photo.
    Happy Week to you

  145. Hi Julia, Just wondering how the ATC thing would work - how would we sort addresses (I don't have my e-mail on my blog so could be tricky) Also how would YOU get one too and when would be the deadline for the LAST person to submit be iyswim. I guess you did this all last year and these are simple queries to you but hope you'll explain all next week. Thanks BJ #12

Great idea for the ATC's...have to get my thinking cap on. I have never made one B4 but that is what google and Utube are for!

Hope to have hubby and life back on track for next week...hopefully will have a post by then!!!

  155. My sincere apologies for missing WOYWW this week. I had to stop by to see if there were plans for Anniversary # 3, and I like the idea of an ATC. That way, each person knows what will be offered, rather than some outlandishly large and well crafted PIFs and some that were small but well crafted. Wise plan to limit the size.

A tornado hit my town, very close in fact. I know Vickie (Okienurse) said it hit a few streets from where she lived. I hope her clean-up was not as extensive as mine. I've spent the past two days cleaning and have a few more things to clean up before I can call this task complete.

  162. OMG Julia what a total vegetable I am, am I suffering from senior moments already??? I don't know whether to laugh or cry?? have just realised I posted on an earlier WOYWW had my husband trying to figure out how someone could have put an earlier post on? Not only that but actually commented on lots on that post too!! Anyway, those stamps are a total disgrace but just how I like to see them used and loved is that a Dolly Mumma I see in the far top right? Is there one for my condition? anyway sorry about the war and peace post, great desk and yes lets celebrate, I really do need a stiff one!! oh er missus! Happy Crafting, Sue xx

  163. I'm back again Julia! Thanks for your visit to my desk - you asked about the hand held Xyron runner. I've not had it very long and only bought it because it was being sold off really cheaply on Create and Craft TV. I only have the basic cartridge - with happy birthday etc, but so far so good. I really like how it works and prints - just need to perfect my lining up so I get the wording in the right place. I'd ideally like to get the customised cartridge, where I could write my own words, but don't know if that's still available.

Must just say - wow - to the number of participants - over 170 WOYWWers - what are you doing to us all - LOL :)

  164. Thanks for the lovely comment, Julia! It's funny about my little stones - my hubby said they looked like Mint Imperials and I said he'd better not eat any or they'd do him a whole lot of no good! His mind tends to run on food... Hopefully they will no longer look like mints once they are on the project and painted lol!! Otherwise it'll be a case of eat your art out.

Glad you like the zentangle. It did turn out very well, and i'm afraid my next efforts may not be so good... Plenty of ideas though!

  165. Thanks for your visit this week, Julia. I have to say I have not yet been tempted to try one of the dogs' fishy treats, they do smell quite strong. As far as the rain is concerned, the idea that is is not good for the gardens because the ground is too dry for it to sink in, is a load of rubbish. Our ground is so wet that we cannot do any work on it again, and the dogs are coming back in covered with mud. Have a good week. xx Maggie #59

  169. OMG - how rude of me - in my haste I never left a message - I knew there was something weird - you know when something isn't quite right but you don't know why... well, now I do and its rectified! Hello - what would we do without you Julia? Your desk is now so familiar to me - and so is that baskey of dirty stamps. It's just not the same without it being the focus of your wednesday post. You see, I wouldn't say that I was too fussy about things but I do clean my stamps after use. Maybe thats why I do a lot of digital designing...

Oh, and I'd love to do what ever you choose to mark the 3rd anniversary. We need to consider postage costs - so whatever we can achieve without any or too many layers/height.

    Love and hugs

The bubble on my desk is actually a glitter bouncy ball but in our scrap group we call them Bubbles. We have all different sizes and colors mine is Turquoisey my fav color. CARS is actually a club it the Chicago Area Rubber Stampers they meet at our local store.

  175. Wow loving your stamp corner and even better it's a mess like mine lol, and liking your desk, lots too see, mind you not sure where you can work if it's worse after the project. Mind you I take that back, I can end up with such a small tiny place that even an ATC won't fit, but somehow while crafting we manage to do it lol. I'm chuffed that your doing something special again and an ATC sounds fab, I'm definitely in. I'm super late this week, happy woyww :-) Kezzy x
