What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 149

Considering I've been working at my desk, it's pretty tidy!  You can see any number of different glues and mediums for paper crafting - the small bottle with the pink tip is a notepad cement that I er, liberated from stores when I worked in print.  That of course, was back in the day, before Post Its were invented and people used nicely glued together notepads! I've been working on my altered book (courtesy of Elizabeth and Bleubeard's free course). Which is why the bookchair/deckchair thing is empty..I didn't want Elizabeth to be caused concern about me sloshing glue and gesso about in the proximity of the old computer thingy.  The book is away drying in the conservatory which was the warmest place today.  And the noisiest; hail storms of the variety that makes a polycarbonate roof sound like the ride of the Valkyries! Not a great view really - the white paper pad is actually an Insurance policy that's expired.  It's only printed one side of each sheet - shocking huh.  The lid is not yet on the gesso on purpose, Elizabeth gave me such a good tip for thin gesso that I'm trying it out.  At back of the shot you can see my Stampa Rosa (remember them!) stamp repositioner, a pile of mounted clear stamps on the bottom shelf of my stamp unit that Mr Dunnit made for me, when he built the room. Yep, really.  Can you see my new packaging tape behind the glues?  What is it with all the moustaches!
So, there's no shame, bare all for us and share your desk..no doubt the fascination is seeing what everyone's making, and where you do the making. Join us do - photo your desk, upload to your blog and link here. We'll visit. Slowly probably, but hey, it's what the days between Wednesdays are for! Oh and just to shake things up a bit, this will be the last 1230am BST  post..., I'll make 'em later, gives the overseas cohort an advantage- but just for a while!

  4. Moustaches... am clueless, I think I must have missed that one cos everyone seems to want them... mind you, I am sporting a rather special freckles moustache at the moment, I spend half the year wearing Factor 30 on my top lip to stop the freckles merging together, and then get caught out in March lol Looks like a nice busy desk there hun... please do check out my blog cos I has candy for my Sunday Stamper :)

  5. Hmmm... I'm not sure whether I like the luxury of a later post (more time to get things done) - or the luxury of an early post (I can link and get it out of the way and enjoy the evening with my hubby!)

No matter how you slice it - Tues (which is really when your Wed is for me - is one heck of a crazy day!

Enjoy your rounds and thanks for the peek at your desk!

  6. That is a seriously tidy desk, Julia, considering the project you are workin on. I salute you with serious admiration for that. One little card and my desk looks like the Battle of the Somme has taken place there. Hope your hormonity is not getting you down. We are all (well, lots of us, anyway) are with you on that slide. Have a good Wednesday and the rest of the week. xx Maggie #Not sure yet what number I am, but it is still very early. Night night, sleep tight.

  7. I'm a night owl, but later?? Oh dear. :) How about a trade? Send mr Dunnit my way and he can build me shelves and the next time you iPad acts up you can borrow dh. Seems fair, no?

  8. I am liking that very tidy tidyness this week... that pad is really imposing. I want to know how all those peeps were already on the link when I was popping in all the time to get higher up the list!!! Beats me... oh well... off to bed now

  9. I have the slowest internet connection around. So now I will have to wait even longer to visit on Wednesday. Could we get a hint as to the time you will be posting?

Glad to read you are working on your AB. I can't wait to see which glues you feel work the best (and not AGT tape, either). Must also see how you like gesso. I learned that this new gesso I got is a lot thicker than my last thin stuff. Not sure I like it as well, since it seems to crack when dry if I put it on too thick.

Have a super WOYWW from # 9 this week!

  10. Sounds like so much is going on there or has already gone on, yet it all looks so tidy and neat. At first I thought that was a mousetrap at the front until a second look makes me think it is a large peg clip thingy!!

  11. Pretty tidy desk, Julia! That huge pot of glue is awesome... What is the tip about thin gesso?? I'm up to my elbows in the stuff at the moment.

I really appreciate the 12.30 a.m. start because it means I get in near the top of the list! I get up so late that I miss the boat sometimes!

Hop over and see my new blog background - work in progress but what d'ya think?

Happy WOYWW and thanks for all you do for us.

  12. I'm concerned - that desk is verging on OCD for a WOYWW flaunt. Crikey, that was some policy, did you once own Buckingham Palace... Quite like this view - get to see some stamp laden shelves...!

  13. Busy, busy Julia...there's something about a blank white crisp sheet of paper that makes me hyperventilate!
Maybe that's a little too much information.

  14. Bit too tidy for my liking Julia - them hormone-ities affecting you today?

Glad you're going to change the time of WOYWW - I'd cottoned on to the 12:30 thing and was becoming a bit of a saddo sitting here with fingers poised! Now I can toddle off to bed at a decent hour and stop trying to beat my own record!

    Have a great WOYWW!

  28. Morning Julia, Sad though it is, I made myself go to bed BEFORE midnight but awoke at 2am and just HAD to turn on the laptop to post my link. Made it to #43 this week :) Nice to see you are going to change the posting time though. I have only just noticed where the time we post is shown - doh!

Let us know if your experiment with the Gesso worked, I have the same one, and it could do with being a tad thicker, not sure I could stand the smell though as I craft in my bedroom!

    Thanks - BJ

  123. haha - I don't quite understand the moustache craze either, but I sure love your packing tape! Your outgoing mail/packages must look super fun! I like your cherry "paper scrap catcher?" too!

  124. Loving your busy looking desk - all that glue looks like you're having/gonna have fun!
We've had the hail over here in N. Ireland too - I had to almost stop the car yesterday when I was out driving for fear that they would damage my beloved mini!

    Happy WOYWW!

  129. Your desk looks soooooo creative. I've never seen a bottle of Perfect Paper Adhesive that large. I'm going to have to take a photo of my stamp positioner... Not a Stampa Rosa, but it looks like they could be related. It's one of my favorite tools. That makes it favorite tool number 1000, I guess I just love them all! Have a wonderful week...

  139. Not sure I had an advantage I forgot it was Wednesday as OH went to work, I had it in my brain it was Tuesday and posted woyww on Thursday, I'm really messed up this week lol. Love the deck chair thingy weird I never noticed it before, and a fab idea using the insurance booklet, might check out mine. As I work from home I tend to have A4 mistakes so I put them on the side of the craft desk and use them as well as my mats for catching glue paint etc. Happy woyww Kerry x
