WOYWW 804

I had to double check the number, four weeks since I last posted. Good grief, my life is so chaotic. No Workdesk from me, it's actually looking its usual mess but there's no craft working going on. Instead, I offer you the dining table and the hall floor.

Im clearing out my sweet, late Mother In Law's house and obviously trying really hard to re-home stuff before having to give in and dump it. It's a chore, to be honest. Yesterday I ended up refereeing a fight over an item I'd put up for sale on FB and I start today wondering if anyone of the three scheduled to collect what they wanted will actually turn up. If you've ever done similar, you'll know that it's not about making money, it's about getting rid of whatever! So that's me, in amongst the day to day I have this little voice in the back of my head talking about the things I want to make for Christmas and I'm trying to keep it quiet and low, if it's just another job, there will be no pleasure in it, and at this point, anything I don't have to do isn't being done! I think that makes me a housework rebel! I also know that trotting around your desks will fill me awe and longing so I need to get on with this clearing lark!

  1. It’s lovely to see you on the list xx I really hope that the clearing isn’t all being left to you? Good luck with trying to recycle it rather than dumping, it’s hard. Hope you managed to get some R and R on holiday, don’t let that feeling slip away.

  2. Oh I know your pain. We had to clear my Aunt's house, then my Grandparents, and I still came across stuff I took to keep it from being trashed. My parents left everything they did not want in their house when they sold it as it was being demolished and the guy who bought it said he would just trash it all after sending what he could to GoodWill. I still wonder what might have been trashed wrongly. Ugh. Chill as best you can, and I will join as a "housework rebel!" - life's too short.
Lunch cancelled due to illness so I'm here
    Happy WOYWW.

  4. Good to see you here Julia - I think you are allowed a few weeks not joining in after all these years. Good luck with the sorting - hope all the FB buyers turn up. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah

  5. It was lovely to see you are here this week but sorry you are up to your eyeballs in clearing out your dear `MIL's bungalow. I remember how excited you were doing it up for her. It's not a nice task to have to undertake and getting rid of treasured belongings is hard. I often think of advertising something to be picked up and then hesitate for the same doubts you are having. Hope your people turn up for you.
I'm definitely a household rebel at the moment, just hope dh doesn't turn into one as I need him to keep things tip top (ish).
    Hugs and love

  6. I hope you are keeping the rocking horse! It is a lot of work sorting out another’s home. Facebook recycle sites are brilliant, but only if people turn up! Otherwise it gets frustrating. I have seen a couple of posts where they have put a load of stuff outside their house and said first come gets it, it will be taken to the tip at the end of the week! Happy WOYWW. Angela #13

  7. I feel for you as I know what it was like clearing my mum's house but we were lucky as there are a couple of charity shops in the village where she lived and they were willing to take just about anything. Hope you get it all sorted soon. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww. Hugs Angela x11x

  8. Oh well done on trying to re home and recycle - it's tricky and not least because folks often don't turn up or even expect you to deliver! Very annoying and doesn't help with what is a long process. It will come to an end and then you can get back to a few fun things that you want to do. Happy WOYWW. x x Jo 🌈

  9. I hope the buyers did show and collect... I don't envy you one jot! it is great to see you joining in this week, and thanks for stopping by already. I need to go through lots of other ink pads (I chuckled at your comment on MaryAnne's desk) Happy WOYWW Helen #2

  10. What a big job for you! And marketplace is such a cesspit, I always get anxious when I have to think about selling anything on FB. I hope you get through it all and find some time for making. Happy WOYWW, Rachel #9

  11. Good to see you on here Julia, and I hope your clearing out is finished soon. It’s a hard job; good for you trying to pass things on rather than them being thrown out.
I hope you get chance to do some crafting soon.

  13. I've just been through the same for months, although MIL is in a care home. Someone rang the other day about the wheelchair and asked if it had small wheels, no it doesn't. Well, can we fit small wheels for her?!!! Good luck and hope you craft soon. L x
