What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 761

Well I very much hope that 2024 will be kind to you all. Things will go on much the same as before for me. And that makes me happy!
Two of several work surfaces to show you today, I've been multitasking!
I'm de-decorating and at the same time, doing a bit of de-cluttering. In a bid to avoid 8 kerjillion unnecessary steps, I corral everything onto the dining table. This really helps avoid that moment in a March when I notice notice a stray decoration hanging from a door handle or on a window cill!  We have two Christmas trees up and there is a plastic toy box standing next to each one, waiting to receive the baubles and doodads. It's not a brilliant system, but it gets everything back into storage as quickly as I like. The decluttering at back right of the table is cupboard emptying of stuff we haven't used in the last two years, so it's not staying. Man I'm tough. And then, there's the desk....
I have had desk time over the holiday which has been lovely, I made some thank you cards and did some scrapbooking. No longer evident now because regretfully, I'm now in the process of making sympathy cards. There's evidence of a Christmas gift from my gal and the current squeeze..a little tower of Washi tape. And you may just be able to see my bargains from Hobbycraft at far right - two pads of card inserts for a pound each and a packet of gobbly eyes because you never know when the need will arise!
So that's me, gentle desker. How about you?

  1. I have taken the cards down, and meant to photograph them for today's desk.. but forgot! Your retrospective atc post inspired me to create though before I went back to work. I bet you need the gobbly eyes before you know it! Happy WOYWW Helen

  2. Hi, Julia!

I am returning to WOYWW after a long absence! I really enjoyed playing here, but illness took me away from crafting for a while. I promised myself that I would return in 2024.

You have been busy and I can see it all on your desk! I love your wreath, and is that a quilt? It is gorgeous!

    Good luck with your de-cluttering!

  3. Oh Julia you’re way more organised than I. I’ve deposited the tree and decoration in the chair next to where it, it’s a small tree so easily all fits there, but the cupboard in which containers are is a perilous climb s I’m waiting till someone is here tomorrow to help me bring it down and back up, as it requires me climbing a ladder.

    I’d really rather not!

Will gather up other items around the house as now reading your post that strikes me as a grand idea. I’m about to go to the beach for a swim, the first in 2024 as it’s not after 5pm and sun burning stage is passed, but won’t leave it much longer.
Am a tad chuffed at being numero uno on the first post in 2024!

Wow, it’s my twelfth anniversary on WOYWW TOO,
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless you and keep you and all whom you love safe and well.
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz. X

  7. Happy New Year Julia! Our Christmas is still up - but we need to start packing away before the weekend when we are going away for a few days. Our bolw up koala sitting on the kangaroo unfortunately hit the dust - we had really bad weather - lots or rain and wind leading up to Christmas and it didn't survive. One less thing to store!

  9. Hi Julia sounds like we have similar thoughts and just hope I can be as strong as you to get sorting. I made sympathy cards yesterday as we are on our way soon to a funneral but it's of someone who has had a long happy life so not so hard to see him go but we want to be there to support the family. Better go as we have some travelling to do this morning. Wishing you a very happy woyww new year. Hugs, Angela x11x

  11. Oh gosh, not thought of de-decorating yet other than looking up when 12th night is and trying to set Friday in my mind to do it. Will leave the real tree up in the conservatory until Candlemas on 2nd Feb although not too sure it will survive that long this year, we'll see. I do however, do the big box thing, used to be the washing basket but we have loads of plastic storage boxes now which is great. Love the decluttering at the same time, think I need to do likewise although with continuing back pain not sure how much I can stand. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who hopes for much of the same in the year to come. that certainly stops me stressing that I ought to be thinking otherwise. Hugs BJ#12

  12. HNY Julia! 2024! Can't believe we have almost nailed the first quarter of this century. Good luck with the de-cluttering - it is on our list for this year but I am trying to turn it into a mindset. I have told hubby to stop asking if I want to keep things. There will probably be rows when he throws away something important but I could say without fear of contradiction that 80% of the stuff in this house is not used or necessary. But who doesn't need googly eyes in their life? Love n hugs, Cindy xx

  13. We never really had much up decoration wise this year Julia. Sorry to hear you have a reason to make sympathy cards. A quick visit this week due to new windows being installed (and of course it has started raining). Stay safe and Happy WOWYW. Sarah #14

  14. Good morning Julia, my table looks very similar to yours and was used for the same purpose. I left some artificial poinsettia flowers out because I like them them, everything else has gone. I am hoping to post this morning although my husband has decided we are going shopping because it is raining and he can’t walk the dogs! I had better get on with it x. Angela. Happy New Year and happy WOYWW.
