What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 717

My desk looks unchanged, I swear it’s not the same photo!
I spent Saturday afternoon at my desk. Not because I was feeling the need to, or because Mr Dunnit was watching the Rugby, or because I had a head full of ideas after being deprived of access to it whilst we were away. No. In honesty, I was driven to it by the presence of the electric heater. No better excuse; we were freezing all weekend. Serves us right for having a week in warm sunny Tenerife, huh! I didn’t sit and do nothing though, I started on the alphabet thing. My word, it’s going to take a lot longer than I anticipated, and I’m definitely going to have to come up with a few proper ideas!
I’ve done a few random sheets as you can see, and this is just from the black alphabet file! I’m surprised frankly, by the amount of letters that become unusable and will definitely be going back to dies and smart cutting. I’m going to a crop with The Coven this weekend, so it will be a good test of whether I can make up a LO and leave the title until I get home rather than have the shot of satisfaction from finishing it there and then! So, that’s me. What about you? Please show and tell, as usual. I’ll be late to visit because of another early start that involves logistical tactics with one vehicle where two would be the ideal! See you later!

  1. Good to see you back and at your desk, even if you were cold - it must have been a sharp contrast getting home!

  4. Sorry my lovely but I fear you will N E V E R use them all up. They breed at night while we dream of empty backing sheets…. I keep hearing about the Beast from the East, so you will be sat at that desk with your heater and stickers for a long time…
    Happy Woyww!

  6. I wouldn't worry about the sunny break causing the coldness, even I of the hot flashes demeanor was cold at times. Even had to turn the radiator in my room back up as it had been unseasonably mild of late. Have to admit seeing your dilemma with all the alphabet stickers does make me feel good about the outlay with all the die alphabets I have accumulated (16). Still love the Quickutz one I got from you - Zelda, which was my last alphabet purchase. Really must get back to my scrapping, it was on my mind this week, June's photos are still languishing on my desk! Hope the logistics work out OK. Hugs BJ#8

  7. You might be cold now but bet it was worth it to get away for a while. Good luck with the LO I know you'll come up with something great and it's good to use up stuff that is sitting around unused too. Have a nice weekend with your friends. Happy woyww, Angela x9x

  9. At least you weren’t in Majorca where’s there’s loads of snow at the moment. What are you going to do with all those letters, I can’t quite make out what you’re doing, looks fun though.

  10. I’m glad I’m not the only one overwhelmed with dies, I don’t think anyone has yet produced a really effective and accessible storage system for dies or stamps and any attempt to rationalise them just throws up ones I have forgotten, and “Oooh, I could use that for ….s card” and the storage system gets the left shove while a card is made, and other stuff is pulled out and added to the pile, and the desk is once more in chaos, and the dies are still not sorted.
    Bless you for sharing,
    Chris

  13. Sorry to say but the news last night warned that next week is going to be colder. Any chance of going back to Tenerife?
When buying dies for letter cutting make sure you get one with additional certain letters. Just cutting 'Happy Birthday' takes too many cuts for some letters repeat quite often
Wrap up, stay indoors, and keep warm.

  14. Good morning Julia, hope you are back home now - next to the heater! Have you had any thoughts on the theme for the ATC swap? Might I suggest a Japanese/Chinese theme? I have loads of stickers to use up :) Happy WOYWW x Angela #14

  16. Good morning, Miss Julia
Good to see you back home safe and sound. I have alphabets I seldom use. Maybe when I start scrapbooking again. Or like you, getting out the dies LOL. I can't wait to get back to actual crafting again! Hugs & Creative Blessings! ~Kelly

  17. I donated a full A4 box of peeloffs via our local FB page at the weekend-it went in 5 minutes! I am donating loads of crafty stuff that I will never use and may start on the rubber stamps next! Have a great time at the crop. Catriona

  18. Hi Julia! Electric heaters do have their uses! It looks like quite a job with those letters. I have all of mine sorted in to binders so they are easy to get to, but I still don't use them often enough! Glad you enjoyed your trip, and have fun with the Coven! Lindart #17
