I’ve been doing the five minutes here and there thing which is frustrating but also ultimately, more productive than not bothering at all! I’ve just declared this layout finished. I don’t know why but I had ordered 2 copies of the print and so layered them as you can see. It’s not the most significant photograph without the story, so I’ve taken some time to wander around it before writing the bones of it. The rubber stamps you can see scattered vaguely are leftover from an ATC I’ve made for a swap, now in an envelope and ready to fly to Lincolnshire. That LO uses some of my precious lovely Basic Grey papers and alphas. I’m happy to use them because I keep my scrapbooks, but my Basic Grey stash is dwindling now and I shall miss having it within my choice!
We are just days away from the WOYWW Crop which is very exciting. I have totally dropped the ball on the challenge…I should posted about it a while back of course. No idea why I didn’t and by the time I received some gentle reminders, it was too late. But, maybe it’s not too late to ask you to make a name badge, please? It would be jolly helpful…although a lot of us know each other, new to Crop people will appreciate not having to try to remember!
So while I’m rummaging to find a clear alphabet with which to stamp my name, please show us your spaces, what are you up to?
that's a great layout! I did love Basic Grey and was often tempted even though I'm not a scrapper! Should have time to make a name badge yes. Looking forward to the crop (especially now trains are booked lol!) but no idea what to bring...
ReplyDeleteSigh. So sad to be missing the crop. Good call tho’ as I managed to re-injure my back and am flat out once again. I sorted out all my papers in my last tidy and found a box full of BG papers and more sheets of alphas than I will ever use. Why can I not get rid? I just love them best of the papers brands and know it could have a grandchild one day…
ReplyDeleteHave a marvellous crop day. See you at the next one!

ReplyDeleteHi Julia, not having heard anything else from you about Saturday I went ahead and made ATCS but if we don't need them I can save them for another time. I still don't understand why they call it a Crop? I've heard the term used so many times, maybe someone will tell me. Anyway see you Saturday, just have to decide what to bring. Happy woyww, Angela x10x
ReplyDeleteHi, just thought I don't know the times for Saturday. What time shoulkd we arrive and what time does it finish, Angela x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful layout Julia, I love those colours and the photo looks great double layered like that - very effective. I hope the crop goes well and you all have a fabulous day, I'll be thinking of you!

I kept wondering where to find what we had to bring (like and atc) and now the mystery is solved. Easy to wear a name badge as I have lots from various courses I have been on and CHA always gave one out. It's just a case of finding one!
ReplyDeleteI knew straight away that was Basic Grey - there is something about them that is so distinctive and like you, muy stash is almost at an end. Lucky you in having them all in your own LO's to look back on - I haven't a clue where mine ended up.
See you Saturday

Badge making and ATC creating in progress!!!
ReplyDeleteGetting excited now about meeting up on Saturday . . . .
never been into Scrapbooking but can appreciate the photos and papers!
xx
Morning Julia!! Can't believe it's 11.30 already and I have only just sat down for some desk hopping. Still, chores are done and dinner in the slow cooker so my time is my own now until 6 tonight. Yay!! I sometimes think that just doing things for 5 or 10 minutes is better than a big session, I just go off on tangents if I have lots of time. Thought: Maybe that doesn't bode well for today.......xx
ReplyDeleteOooh, that's a great layout and I love your idea with the photo that way! I'm a huge Basic Grey fan too - why on earth did they go out of business? My other favourites are Stamperia and Tim Holtz papers but BG had something special about it - perhaps I'm just nostalgic about it. Then again, you don't want those papers to be too pretty, otherwise you'll never cut them up! Have a wonderful time at the crop - I can't be there, but I'm so looking forward to seeing all your photos! xx zsuzsa #16
ReplyDeleteHellooo Julia,I'm running behind today as my wee one 🐶 is at home. Loving the look of your scrapbook layout ⭐ I too am a fan of BG,they had such beautiful papers, rich in quality ... I may have a dwindling stash in a big box, they were my go to for mini albums. ⭐Wishing yoooou all much JOY at the crop, how quickly it has came around ... looking forward to hearing all about it 😘Be safe and the care with love and hugs Tracy #13 xxxx

Good to see your desk back in situ and the scissors and the glasses etc. I hope you all have a great time on Saturday and so wish I could be with you. How about a zoom meeting next year. Ani #17

Hope everyone enjoys the Crop today. I am not blogging about crafting now, as I am not crafting! I use my craft room for business stuff, but my decluttered stash just sits not being used. Perhaps my crafty mojo will come back this winter? I have offered to make some cards for charity, so that will get me going. I had Covid for 3 weeks and still got symptoms. Off to have my flu jab today. I will pop into some blogs occasionally to see how everyone is. I can be found on Facebook and Instagram. Ali x
