Now, brace yourselves. In between holiday washing, tearful moments on my sofa and some work in the garden this week, I’ve cleared my desk. I just got a need to do some scrapbooking, which I haven’t done for months.
Would you look at that. This was about 11am yesterday. Chores done. Mr Dunnit had just rung to say he’d be delayed for lunch, so I just went for it, knowing I could have at least a couple of hours. Well, gentle reader, here’s this morning:
Floor and second stool employed for balancing boxes. The set of drawers that are usually at left have been wheeled out of reach to prevent me piling stuff on it to the point of collapse. It all looks rather tame doesn’t it! It is. It won’t last, I’ll soon get in the swing and carried away and lazy again, be assured!
Im at home and surrounded by broadband this week, missing the heat of Mallorca but looking forward to catching up with your desks, so please do me the favour…show and tell!

I so enjoyed the beautiful and touching day of watching the Queen's tribute. What a beautiful Lady she had been.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your crafty space, I only hope I can return to mine for a few hours each day, I am just tired of very late "Spring" cleaning the rest of this small house. I have no idea how it got this bad.
Enjoy the coming of fall, daylight is already shorter here.
What really blew me away was how quiet it was, all day. To be fair, the average age in my town is about 60 so literally no cars out on the street, no kids skateboarding down to the playground, just very very quiet, respectful and somber. Like you, I cleaned, then did my back in, so it’s all two finger typing from my iPad today, Bah! Also like you, I missed desks for a bit, but not this week, slowly but steadily is the plan. Oh and I emailed you about the update to Serial. Amazing her was probably innocent all along…

I find your desk very unsettling when it’s too tidy so I’m pleased to see normal service is returning 😀 Jo and I got together last night to do some last minute planning on who will be cooking/baking what for the crop and I remembered that you have the crop banner so thought I would remind you to bring it with you please....can’t wait now.

Hi Julia, a tidy desk always worries me a bit so I'm pleased to see it full of stuff again. Also pleased for the family that the funeral is over now and they have time to grieve properly. Yes, a funny old week and I've had some more bad news - lost another friend. This year is not my year and I will be glad when it is over. The funeral was a snotty affair for me, a complete mix of emotions as you say.
Anyway, things to do and places to go.

Hi Julia, Hubby got up at 5am to watch the Queen's funeral. Unfortunately, I like my sleep, but I caught glimpses of it throughout the day, and watched some very beautiful and moving scenes. You are just like me in your art space, piling things on top of things until we have the tipsy topsy piles that we have to weave through to get to our seats! But you seem to have more room than I do to do that! Maybe next week I will show my piles on the floor. Have fun with your scrapbooking1 Lindart #21
ReplyDeleteI think we watched it most of the day (though I did have my laptop on my lap as I printed off as much as I could to use up my HP instant ink pages before I go down to the cheaper one). I almost fell over in shock at the first picture but gained my composure at the 2nd, although I do like a tidy desk between projects.

At the moment my youngest daughter has arrived from Seattle where her own home is in danger of wild fires, but she has been a great help on 'Spring cleaning' the whole house...although, the craft room at the moment is off limits, she says 'Even I'm not brave enough to go in there!'
