Now, brace yourselves. In between holiday washing, tearful moments on my sofa and some work in the garden this week, I’ve cleared my desk. I just got a need to do some scrapbooking, which I haven’t done for months.
Would you look at that. This was about 11am yesterday. Chores done. Mr Dunnit had just rung to say he’d be delayed for lunch, so I just went for it, knowing I could have at least a couple of hours. Well, gentle reader, here’s this morning:
Floor and second stool employed for balancing boxes. The set of drawers that are usually at left have been wheeled out of reach to prevent me piling stuff on it to the point of collapse. It all looks rather tame doesn’t it! It is. It won’t last, I’ll soon get in the swing and carried away and lazy again, be assured!
Im at home and surrounded by broadband this week, missing the heat of Mallorca but looking forward to catching up with your desks, so please do me the favour…show and tell!
A very moving and respectful event indeed Julia. Glad you have been able to scrapbook - I don't think I have ever seen your desk so clear. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #1
ReplyDeleteI hope you forgive my post today then Julia as I had nothing to share but my reflection on Monday.... Your desk in the sun looks good and shows more sign of action than mine for sure! Happy WOYWW Helen xx
ReplyDeleteI have also linked Neet who is away, internet-less!
I so enjoyed the beautiful and touching day of watching the Queen's tribute. What a beautiful Lady she had been.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your crafty space, I only hope I can return to mine for a few hours each day, I am just tired of very late "Spring" cleaning the rest of this small house. I have no idea how it got this bad.
Enjoy the coming of fall, daylight is already shorter here.
What really blew me away was how quiet it was, all day. To be fair, the average age in my town is about 60 so literally no cars out on the street, no kids skateboarding down to the playground, just very very quiet, respectful and somber. Like you, I cleaned, then did my back in, so it’s all two finger typing from my iPad today, Bah! Also like you, I missed desks for a bit, but not this week, slowly but steadily is the plan. Oh and I emailed you about the update to Serial. Amazing her was probably innocent all along…
ReplyDeleteHappy Woyww!

I find your desk very unsettling when it’s too tidy so I’m pleased to see normal service is returning π Jo and I got together last night to do some last minute planning on who will be cooking/baking what for the crop and I remembered that you have the crop banner so thought I would remind you to bring it with you please....can’t wait now.

Hi Julia, a tidy desk always worries me a bit so I'm pleased to see it full of stuff again. Also pleased for the family that the funeral is over now and they have time to grieve properly. It must have been difficult for them and you could see the sadness on Charles's face. Wishing you a very happy and productive woyww, Angela x9x
ReplyDeleteHorrah for a tidy desk and the thought of scrapbooking on the horizon too. I need to order photos for my next 6 months worth of scrapping....Yes it was a sad day on Monday indeed, but glad to be out of wearing black now. BJ#10
ReplyDeleteGood morning Julia π€ it was a beautifully done tribute to the Queen ❤ all was very quiet here. Here's to the family having some much needed time out of the public eye to grieve.
ReplyDeleteOh my just look at your desk ... stick and span then after you created ... a joy to see it is ... sending yooou hugs for those tearful moments π€ you've been so busy! Wishing you much love and joy in your day (wrap up warm) Tracy #15 xxx
P.S
I think I may have wittered away on mine so apologies in advance π xxxx
Laughing here as good old predictive text changed my spick and span πππ words in my last comment. Xxxx
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia. An amazingly beautiful service to our late queen, focusing in on her devotion to God, her country and the commonwealth. But that lone piper... oh my - a very soggy bit of the day!!! What is it about the sound of bagpipes?!
ReplyDeleteA tidy desk there this morning - enjoy your scrapbooking.
Take care. God bless.

We watched the ceremony and procession here in Aus on Monday evening.
ReplyDeleteWe've swapped places - I am struggling with no broadband this week. Ah well, thankful for local libraries.
ReplyDeleteLove the transformation of the desk from the bare necessities (in life) to the joy of having everything needed out!
Yes, a funny old week and I've had some more bad news - lost another friend. This year is not my year and I will be glad when it is over. The funeral was a snotty affair for me, a complete mix of emotions as you say.
Anyway, things to do and places to go.
Hugs, Neet 3 xx (in the library but not with Professor Plum or Colonel Mustard)
Hi Julia, Hubby got up at 5am to watch the Queen's funeral. Unfortunately, I like my sleep, but I caught glimpses of it throughout the day, and watched some very beautiful and moving scenes. You are just like me in your art space, piling things on top of things until we have the tipsy topsy piles that we have to weave through to get to our seats! But you seem to have more room than I do to do that! Maybe next week I will show my piles on the floor. Have fun with your scrapbooking1 Lindart #21
ReplyDeleteI think we watched it most of the day (though I did have my laptop on my lap as I printed off as much as I could to use up my HP instant ink pages before I go down to the cheaper one). The whole day seemed very somber , which of course was appropriate. The end of an era. Happy WOYWW. Angela #18
ReplyDeleteHello Julia. I am very late joining in. Apologies for content and lot of photos.
ReplyDeleteMy space looks very tidy at moment. Had to clear it for last Saturday. My granddaughter did comment lol

I almost fell over in shock at the first picture but gained my composure at the 2nd, although I do like a tidy desk between projects.
ReplyDeleteHope all the scrapping gets done that you need!
Have a wonderful week!

Like the second photo better, Julia-makes me feel better about my room of doom! Catriona
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks lovely in the sun, but far too tidy ;) I hope you have a lovely week and I look forward to seeing you in Shrewsbury. Take care, with love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#11)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment, re my journal and self-care, really appreciate your words. BJ#10
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words Julia. At the moment my youngest daughter has arrived from Seattle where her own home is in danger of wild fires, but she has been a great help on 'Spring cleaning' the whole house...although, the craft room at the moment is off limits, she says 'Even I'm not brave enough to go in there!' Make every second count hugs ((Lyn))
