What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 677

Last week’s  anniversary was lovely wasn’t it, thank you for all the back patting and virtual hugging, sure makes for some lovely connecting, huh. Just the excuse you need to want to continue it all, I hope! I have to say too that quite unexpectedly, I’ve had a few postal deliveries that were utterly a pleasure to receive. I usually do a mental air punch when I find there is no post because it’s less to be dealing with, but the past week has made me eager all over again!
Thank you, thank you if you sent me an ATC, you certainly didn’t have to and I really enjoyed your gift. I mean, given such a difficult theme, how well did everyone interpret it? Amazing! I know there are a couple coming from across the pond that may well take their time to arrive, but be in no doubt that opening this sort of mail never gets old and I will show and tell as they show themselves.
Meanwhile,
Sorry about the blue lIght - that’s early morning and a rubbish photographer for you! So my actual working area is empty and relatively clean which is remarkable, to be honest.that great big Stampin’ Up butterfly was used to stamp an ATC for my friend Karen, we swap on a chosen theme each month and this month was Wings. Well of course that stamp is so big I had to make two ATCs on a fold, otherwise it would have been only one wing. You can just see the yellow pearly background of my initial idea under the stamp box. The blue shrivelled pieces are gloves  that I use when using sparkle paints…it’s quite long lasting as a stain on your hands and not exactly easy to get off your face either. Ask me how I know. It’s all waiting to be tidied away of course, but I have to. I’ve had the go ahead on a design idea for the commissioned invitations and so everything needs to be clear and spotless before I start on those. Probably goes a long way to explaining why I don’t really take commissions!

So then, please keep calm and carry on, link absolutely as normal. I can’t guarantee the same response if you leave the asterisk * on your name this week, but if it doesn’t come off, don’t worry, we’ll admire its prettiness!

  1. Another year gone, another year begun. And so it goes! Lovely array and I hope mine gets there. The post lady warned the small envelopes are easily lost (!?) but we shall see. Blue light is not flattering to anyone, or any desk, but the crafty goodness shines through. An monthly sway you say? What fun. Thanks again for the ongoing inspiration!
    Great news about the crop….
    Hugs and happy Woyww

  4. It’s been such a lovely week filled with smiles every time the postman called. I’ve really enjoyed seeing how everyone used the theme...we must do the same next year...but of course a different theme. Thanks so much for keeping us going.

  6. Have to say I was absolutely delighted receiving my ATC from Kyla this week, haven't had happy mail in a while. The theme really brought out lots of interpretations, I'm well impressed and wonder why I didn't think of them myself!!!
Gosh those sparkle paints sound a bit of a nightmare on the fingers and face and anywhere else for that matter! Thanks so much for keeping us all connected especially those who go AWOL for months and are welcomed back with open arms. I know there is always a place here. Hugs BJ#13

  7. Brilliant collection of ATCs you've received and you deserve them all to have kept this running so long. I got so excited about the crop that I've booked somewhere to stay already so can't wait for more info. I know it's a bit previous but hubby said yes so I got on with it. Can you let us know exactly where it will be. I've gone on the Post code for booking but it's got to be closer than driving from Lincoln I'm sure! Happy woyww, Angela x14x

  8. Good morning Julia, we had a windy day yesterday and most of the May blossom has been blown away, so I am just admiring the buttercups in the field- no horses in view! Sarah said she was looking forward to the next 13 years- I have just worked how old I shall be - gulp! A lovely array of art on display, I shall have to wait until I see mine. Happy WOYWW. 9. I really loved your ATC, thought the little wire of communication between the houses was a genius idea! It’s been a lovely week with such happy mail. That butterfly stamp is really lovely and very big, good idea to stretch it across two ATCs, it would be a shame to only have part of it. Goo luck with the invitations, commissions make me stress more than anything else…..brrrrrrr.

  10. This ATC swap has been so much fun, thank you for making it happen! I'm at my desk now...thinking (That's always a danger sign!) perhaps I could take off the sticky tape from yours making it...'connections unwrapped!' and then your message came through! I've just been making 'sparkling paints'...not really sure if I've done it right, but I added different colours to the puzzle piece on the ATC...mica powders this time I've mixed it with gum arabic...I've tried other stuff...anyway, so far they've stayed shiney! Will try added glitter too! Thank you for putting me on your list of liked products/projects too! Have a great week...off to get Lola the little dog soon...she goes crazy when she sees me, luckily she's not a Great Dane!! Happy WOYWW ((Lyn)) #15

  11. What lovely ATC's and memories too. I went away last week so it was especially lovely to come home and find a host of beauty behind the door awaiting opening. Such joy - and love.
Wow, that is one big butterfly. What a good idea to do the monthly swap with a friend - keeps you on your toes.
Thanks for whatever portion of 13 years I have been with you all, some great memories of actually meeting American friends in the past at cha time and time again, and, of course, meeting the ones here at the Crops. So hoping I can get to the next one.
    Hugs, Neet xx4
