What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 654

Well Deskers, if there are words to describe the hurtling feeling, I’d like to know them. It’s been a lovely week, but oh boy, don’t we all have to fit in a lot! I have discovered that putting up Christmas trees and decorating my house makes a mess. Moving bits of furniture, putting stuff away to make temporary homes for seasonal stuff. So today and tomorrow, the big clean up starts. It’s all about the floors! Surfaces don’t need attention because…..ta na….
Stamps and supplies cleared cleaned and put away, desk top cleaned. Still a pile of cards waiting to be written, but I’m still in time, I’ve done them in tranches. This angle shows the need for a redecoration in here, but also shows you a small glimpse of my lovely cheery coloured lights. A gift from my sis some years ago that I’m really happy to have warming and colouring my workroom. So how goes it for you on these inky black Christmas days? I hope you’re all fairing well and ticking things off. I am beyond impressed by those of you that have a desk covered in arty crafty stuff that you’re doing for the fun of it, I’m not there yet, but I intend to be, but that’s not a promise for this week!
Share and show please, all as per usual, it all seems to have added sparkle now!

  1. Good luck with the rest of the prep Julia. Thanks for the lovely card - I am donating to charity this year instead. Looks like you still have a few to write but at least your desk is really tidy. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

  2. well done on your tidy desk - I look around at the clutter everywhere and think - i need to move some of that soon, not that there will be visitors but it will make me feel better! I did put up some window sill decorations (all I can do) but not as many as usual. I need to think about buying some presents soon....... Happy WOYWW !

  3. Time is rocketing by for sure. But it will eventually slow down, a bit, and we can all look back and think how all the crazy busyness was worth it for the lovely few days of Christmas. We spread cheer and joy and love with cards and comments and friendship and it is all worth it, in spades. Have a great Woyww day!

  4. Hi Julia, it all looks very cheery and purposeful. I hope your cleaning goes ok and you get to make time for enjoying yourself. I can’t think of a word for the hurtling feeling; it’s more than stressed if you’re anticipating as well. Pre-Xmas-hurtly? Anyway, take care, stay safe and happy WOYWW!

  5. Think we can all be found hurtling towards the big day now so don’t feel alone 😀 We will get there and what doesn’t get done really doesn’t matter in the whole scheme of things....just don’t overdo it.
    Hugs,

  6. It’s the time of year when we all think we will start Christmas cards earlier next year. It is for mr anyway. No desk showing for me 6his week as I am at my husband’s parents. We had a meal out last night - Chinese- and what with heartburn and complaining tummy I didn’t sleep very well, so I am going back to bed! Angela #11 happy WOYWW x

  7. How neat, tidy and lovely it all looks Julia, it sounds like you are on the last leg of the preparations and then the relaxing bit can really kick in!

  8. Happy WOYWW. I am definitely looking forward to getting my craft room back again - there are far too many cardboard boxes waiting to go to the tip on Friday, furniture going to my stepdaughter today hopefully and general piles of Christmas-related stuff. I definitely get less festive each year! Ali xx #13

  9. I'm sure you'll soon be sorted and then you can sit back and relax...well for an hour or two before it it all gets going again. Can't say as I feel very festive yet but trying to make it feel like Christmas for mum's sake. Have a lovely woyww. Hugs, Angela x14x

  11. Let’s hope the cleaning takes as little time as possible so you can sit and do something crafty instead, much better for the soul! Your desk is looking very organised, thought I’d come to the wrong place at first… ;-)

  12. Cheers, it's to late there for my early morning hello ! Time change messes me up, Son in Germany about the same as you and I've not adjusted well. Want so bad to travel there and your way within the next 2 years. Covid/Restrictions/ who would have thought retirement would be so hellish. You cards are all so pretty at least you've created some, I just got the basement ready so I have the cat carrier there/shoes/phone charges/keys/flashlights just in case we have to head that way. Plans for whatever are on hold today. No travel/schools out (foggy a.m.) (storms p.m) Crazy how the weeks fly by ENJOY, I'm ready for next week !!!

  13. Oh what a delightfully tidy desk! Oh and lights a plenty cheers up the shorter days no end and gives a sparkle to the heart in the process. Hubby finished work for the hols yesterday, son finishes tomorrow until he starts his new one the 2nd week of the New Year. We've got son's birthday next week which is one reason I started doing the decs early. All sorted there abouts. BJ#20

  14. What a lovely, cheery, positive post Julia. So glad you have sparkle now.
I'm sat surrounded by not a shred of Christmas cheer despite what you see on my blog - have ventured up to the 'van and didn't bring anything because we'd have to take it back and we already plan on a big shop whilst here.
I got 4 Tracy workshops for Christmas so looking forward to doing them after the big Day itself. Still have some that I haven't done as well so you never know what next week will bring.
Off to the beach (only kidding, it's getting dark - tomorrow though)
Hugs, Neet (around 6 I think) xxx

  15. Hi Julia, your desk looks so clear! There's not much on my desk today too and I'm also writing cards a few at a time. I agree, there is so much to do and the timing is so important. Alan assures me that if it doesn't get done nothing terrible will happen. Have a good week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #18

  17. Hi Julia! My desk is busy, but not just for the fun of it, still working on Christmas cards! You're desk looks nice and tidy, just waiting for the moment when you can jump in just for the fun of it! The lights do make your room look nice and cheery! Have a great week, Lindart #22

  18. Very neat and tidy desk this week and so organised with your cards. I find these short days difficult for crafting even with my daylight lamp. Happy stamping! ( of your envelopes)

  19. We've been so busy or so tired that I finally just put out 3 12" trees out and called it good instead of putting up the 4' tree. I do have some decorations here and there. I think this is the tidiest I've seen your desk.
Thanks for popping by and hope you get done what needs to be done!
