What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 593

I took this picture at about 630 yesterday evening. I very much hope that by lunchtime today, it will look a little different. Note that I didn’t say tidy. It is packed with GKW. It’s not that I don't really Know What, the problem is that in this mess, I don't Know Where!
A lot of you have started, and I was feeling the pressure, so I stamped a few Christmas images for colouring. The I got carried away and wanted to use glitter, pearly rub on stuff, foils, all sorts. So every time I had an idea, I had to trail back into my real work room to find whatever it was. Hence the mess..I never manage to trail the stuff back into the workroom. There’s a waiting to be stuck down fox on top of the silver foil flakes on top of the little pot of badges on top of the clear drawers. There’s 4 of the same, finished at right next to the fallen-over bin. (Empty, fortunately.) Now I’m colouring angels. You can only see one because I’ve dumped a small book and notebook on top of the second. Honestly, they’re taking me ages. I rather suspect that if I was actually in the groove for making them, I could do better! So I’m thinking that you’ll enjoy showing me up today....show your neatness, do.

  1. I can't show you neatness; it doesn't happen. I can show you new goodies though! Definitely not joining the Christmas gang yet although I suppose I should start thinking about starting them.... have a good week

  3. Morning Julia. Can't show you neatness, I'm afraid - just a great big pile of stuff. However, I can show you "happy" pictures... Hope the angels don't cause too much hassle and bother.
    Take care. God bless.

  5. Mm think being in groove really helps Julia and also having your store of goodies in your real workroom yet working in another location is a distinct disadvantage.
l am sure it will all come together in order in good time. Meanwhile I’m going back to craft my current baking batch after made a couple more comments did a few of early birds already.
    Happy WOYWW.
Thanks for sharing, and God bless, Shaz in Oz.x #6

  7. Morning Julia, The only time my desk is tidy is when I am not crafting and need it tidy, hope you find lots of things you need when you get to tidy the desk

    Take care and stay safe

  8. Happy WOYWW. Yes, my crafty table is looking fairly neat right now - apart from leaving my latest project out to finish later. Who knew that sticking small diamonds onto a card design could be so satisfying?! I haven't started anything Christmas yet, but do need to do a card for a swap event, so will get going with that later (been in my calendar since Monday). Hoping there are some Christmas designs on my new Sheena Douglass USB, as cannot be bothered to get any other stash out. Ali x #9

  9. It looks a busy space today over at yours. Sadly I’ve not got a lot to show you this week but at least I’m home and joining in. Will try to do better by next week.
    Hugs,

  10. Neatness can be a dirty word for us crafter's but your sweetly coloured angel shines through Julia. Idea;s always take the blame for messiness from me. I know too well about toggling between rooms, hoping one day all those crafty goodies will come together in harmony.
Take care & stay safe WoywW Hugs Tracey xx

  11. I'm a neat freak and wouldn't consider mine neat at the moment as I've been leaving everything out all week while I'm playing with paint, but I guess you'd call it neat!! I hope you get your angels finished, they look lovely from what I can see, and you are certainly streets ahead of me with Christmas card making.
    Have a great week,

  13. I don't think my little grey cells are working at the moment as I haven't a clue what my 'real' desk looks like at home - is it tidy or not? Actually my 'temporary' desk has taken a turn for the worse as I have had to vacate the work top and dump it all on the table. Where it will go next when we need it for lunch I do not know. Breakfast will be taken on knees today!
As for your desk I cannot make things out, my eyes have not become accustomed to the light as yet, I sleep so much better up here - hence the late number I have become. Ah well, some good things and some not.
    Hugs, Neet 14 xx

  17. Neatness!!! not much chance of that my friend. I guess when things get relly bad we'll have to sort it....what am I saying! it rarely happens. I should be all sorted in the cabin by now but life keeps getting in the way so still working mostly on the old desk. Hope we get to see more of your lovely C. Cards, Happy woyww, Angela x19x

  18. I'm actually itching to make Christmas cards but also relishing the extra space when it's packed away!! I'm sure you will have that space ship shape in no time (just trying to make you feel better!) Cindy #20

  19. I have the same problem, Julia! I can't find anything on my desk! When the situation becomes unbearable, and only then, will I tidy stuff away. I often find myself saying out loud, where is it, where is it, where is it? And sometimes it's right there in front of my eyes, I just can't see it - seems like my brain is unable to process the chaos LOL! Well, we'll learn eventually, won't we? Happy tidying - I'll be doing the same - or not, I'll see how it goes! xx zsuzsa #20

  20. Hi Julia, reckon the glitter spray will work well, hopefully the can's not all gunked up, can't recall when I last used it!I do like that angel stamp, very cool. Getting carried away with using stuff is me too, and it's all piled on the desk. Putting it away is nowhere near as interesting as getting it all out, lol. Whenever you get the time, no worries, I'm always here- well pretty much. Allow myself one walk over town a week, usually Fridays.Stay safe, Love & hugs to you both, Shaz #7XxXxXx

  21. Hi Julia ~ Your angel is beautiful and should be sent to only those who save their cards and reuse them when that much coloring is involved! Blessings to you ~ Karen

  22. Julia, I always get so tickled when I read your blog! Look, my desk looks so much like that (not that I'm judging...hee hee) MORE than I care to admit!! Sometimes I get so disgusted at the mess, that I just turn around and walk back out until another day!! LOL That's what you call "lazy," in case you were interested! LOL I TOTALLY get you on the "feeling the pressure!" I was seeing others' as well get on with their Christmas creating and I felt the very same thing!! I finally got on my Christmas crafts and hope I just make it! LOL Have a great rest of the week and blessings to you! Felicia #22

  23. Oh, how I love a messy desk! So much going on! Messy desks mean that you have been so busy being creative you just don't have time to put things away, the ideas come so fast and furiously! Now mine is very neat today, not at all normal, just a little messier than last week, give me another week or two and it will be totally covered as well. Have a great week! Lindart #28

  24. I never worry about untidy desks, unless I am looking for something of course, then it is just pure frustration! I do like the angel, I zoomed in so I could see it better. I think it was a Woodware stamp of an angel I quite fancied and ended up thinking it was too tall. Have a great week x Angela# 29

  25. Howdy!

By this time in life, just to make it easier for myself, I don't even TRY to be neat. But if neatness is a by product of a project, I'm happy.

Somewhere I found a quote that resonates with me so much that I made it my mantra. 'Done. Not perfect.'

Love your desk - as always!
    Peace,

  26. Hi, Julia!

Curious...do you have a trail of glitter back to your workroom? I have trails up the stairs....and I work all in the same place. The worst offender for me is the backing strips from the double stick tape! I clogged up my vacuum with it. Mike had to take it all apart when it quit working. Works fine now since he got all of the tape backing out!

    Stay safe!

    Happy Wednesday!

  27. I can't actually remember what a tidy desk/studio looks like! My place is an absolute tip, as it always is when it's not being used. It just turns into a dumping ground. It's getting so bad that it will soon be too much for me to cope with and I shall descend into the horrors of those hoarding shows you see on TV!!! Thank you for visiting, and I'm glad you like the completed needle books. Seeing the delight on the recipient's face made my day! The whole project is proving most enjoyable though.

    Happy WOYWW,

  28. My desk is always tidy at the end of each day ready to work the following morning! I love that you have started on Christmas - I haven't even thought about it yet. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#12)

  29. Hi Julia! What is that on that Ipad stand? I am so curious. I get that way when there is a lot to see on desks. I am doing a little laundry while I visit a few desks. I've decided rather than try to kill myself visiting a load of desks on Wednesday, I am going to visit 5 or so over the course of a few days. Less stress and I can enjoy the process more. No sense in adding any more stress to my life. I am a bundle of nerves as we approach our next election. So visiting desks is a nice break. I hope you are well my friend and have a lovely rest of your week.

  30. I have been papercrafting this week so have been using one end of the dining room table. I also have stuff on the breakfast bar and my workroom is once again the room of shame. I even drive myself crazy Sometimes not just my DH.

  31. You have been busy!! And me posting before it's pitch dark outside is a change : D. You are making me want to get on the Christmas card bandwagon though lol.

  32. Hi there. Better late than never. I guess you will think my photo is tidy but if you saw the whole room you would think differently. I'm not getting very far with Christmas crafting. Hope to find some enthusiasm soon. Take care. Anne x 33
