What’s On Your a Workdesk? Wednesday 589

First of course, apologies for last week’s missing link. Well, disappearing link. Because I think the missing link is something else entirely isn’t it? And then reappearing link which threw every thing.  It was not Mr Linky’s fault. It was mine. There was a cocked up link so I went to the Link dashboard to delete it and managed to delete the lot. Easy. Got Mr Linky out of bed at 5am and was unable to make his fix work. Not so easy. So I gave in and put a fresh link list up. And that was just the start....!

Oh it’s been a week. Photo taken yesterday afternoon after I’d finished a scrapbook layout and had a little, effortless go at tidying.
That sheet of paper is destined to be cut up, you might just be able to see the pencil circles around the erm, circles. My guide for cutting. I’m taking things a bit slow and easy, see. I’ve had a hideous ear infection that whilst controlled, just won’t go away, and then yesterday, 15 days after I sought emergency dental treatment, my appointment led to the offending tooth being taken out and it’s made me feel battered and sore and a bit low. So, some good weather means fussy cutting whilst sitting on a deckchair. Not planned, but oh such a great opportunity to make the most! The small pile of papers under my ephemera folios are new ones; the one you can see is covered in Christmas text. I bought it for card making, because of the pattern on the other side. Let’s see if I remember I’ve got it when it comes to actually making some cards!
Now, please, run the risk and join the only link list of the day, promise......!

  3. Morning Julia. Deckchair seems just right today - gives you time to recover from the week you have had. Boy, do I know the feeling.. Hope you soon start to feel much more like yourself!! Tidy up??? But it isn't a muddle?! Like the yellow paper - hope you manage to use it.
    Take care. God bless.

  5. Oh mate, it's been a rubbish few weeks for you. I'm glad the tooth has gone but extractions knock you for six. Sitting quietly in the sun sounds the perfect thing to do.

  10. Ouch, Julia, so sorry to hear of all that. Seems perfectly necessary to be doing some deckchair sitting to recover.
    Hope this week is better

  11. Hi Julia, commiserations on the tooth extraction, and the ear infection! I hope the weather stays nice for you to recuperate in the sunshine! I love the faces, and can see the pencil circles fine. I thought last week, when I couldnt link up, that Mr Linky had technologically advanced beyond my IT skills, but I persevered. Glad it's working now. Have a lovekyvweek, Heather xx #11

  13. Oh, ooh and aah to the ear infection. Luckily I have never had an ear infection but I imagine what it would be like and I sympathise with the visit to the dentist. I am putting off a visit blaming the pandemic more than being honest in saying I dread going.
You are my kinda girl, I think relaxing with fussy cutting and some sunshine is the only way to go. Would a G&T help at all?
    Hugs, Neet 12 xx
ps take care my lovely xx

  16. Hi Julia, I think the way you're feeling at the moment it might be better to leave the crafting and make the most of the nice weather. I think sitting in the gardening with a cuppa and treating yourself to a lazy day might be safer for you and the paper. When I feel like that I usually make mistakes and then regret it afterwards. Sending gentle hugs, Angela x16x

  17. Morning Julia, hope you're feeling a bit better today. I do think earache/toothache are the worst for making you feel awful, getting both at once must be hell. I do rather like that spotty paper, just relax and do your fussy cutting, I must admit not my favourite occupation! Stay safe, love & hugs to you all, Shaz #5 XxXxXx

  18. Hoping for a great day for you. The frustration of computer issues upsets one's mind and daily attitude. Hope it is easy healing, sometimes ear issues come from a bad tooth. Hot/Cold packs help,White Rum Chata in coffee and of course SUNSHINE. We have our almost weekly dentist appt this a.m. for my DH. 1 yr 5 months (3 month break Covid( all teeth pulled/implants. A real trooper.
Pretty colors in your string of garland, upper right...SIL had similar but were changing lights. You will have a much better week, prayers for quick healing. Thanks for all you do to keep us from losing our sanity.

  19. Well my dearest Julia I have attempted to blog without a scooby-doo if it is working ... may well have wasted the last two hours but time will tell! xXx

  20. Have now gone back and read your post properly and you poor thing! Totally missed your ear & teeth issues and really, really hope you are feeling better very soon. Much, much love to you. xXx

  21. Oh dear Julia - that sounds horrible! You have reminded me to check on my sister - I saw her last week and she was treating an ear infection but I could see her face/neck was actually swollen on one side - she isn't that great at looking after herself so I hope she's got it sorted. Not joining in today as frankly I had a horrendous night and have only just got up - as I haven't prepared anything I shall just pop on a few desks. My main plan for the day is to enjoy the nice weather and have a relaxing read!! Have a good Wednesday, Cindy xx

No Mr. Linky when I tried to join in. He disappeared for me.

  23. Julia, I purchased those coffees. They're 3 D stickers. I keep forgetting I have them. And thanks for adding me. Your Mr Linky doesn't show up for me, just says "This site is using Mister Linky's Magical Widgets. Click here to display the links..."
    Oh well.

  27. Happy WOYWW - and I hope that a rest in the sunshine has helped the healing process. It has been a mixed day here in our specific area of Pembrokeshire - cold mist this morning, then some warm sunshine and now the cloud is building again. I have been far too busy with emails/phone calls re. business/financial/vehicle stuff. It is now rapidly approaching 5 pm and I need to get back to some essential housework/preparing a meal/walking the dog etc. I might sit down with my coloured pencils in front of the tv tonight and at least do some swatching. I keep saying that my life will get less busy, but that hasn't happened yet! Ali x #26

  28. Hi Julia, oh my goodness, you're having quite the time of it. I can just imagine the pain and discomfort too. Hope you recover from both afflictions soon. Best to take advantage of the good weather, it won't be long now before winter's on us. Love the spotty paper ... I enlarged it for a closer look and spotted the specs. The yellow paper with words is an interesting choice for Christmas - very non-traditional. Hugs, Elizabeth x #18

  30. Oh dear! Poor you! Two of the worst things - earache and toothache, do hope you are feeling better by now. We have had a week away and came back late yesterday, so I have a lot of tidying to do -I have to put away my shopping :)

  31. I tried to comment this morning, Julia, and then hit the wrong key and it disappeared, and then I wasn't able to comment at all! It seems to be working OK again now, though, so I'm not sure what I did. Anyway, I'm so sorry you are suffering a double whammy at the moment - one on its own would be more than enough, but both ear and tooth together is too much! I do hope you get some treatment and things settle down for you soon. Well done, doing some fussy cutting despite everything - it can be quite a therapeutic activity, can't it!

Thank you for your comment. Everyone seems to agree that the variegated background on the tiny carpet is the right way to go! I'm just glad I saw that TV programme when I did, just before I started the background. It was a lot more fun and more interesting to do than the plain one, anyway. Funny that my latest one is like your carpet at home lol!!

  32. PS Me again - I forgot to say - I would never have thought of using the butternut squash skin as well! My high speed blender should be able to deal with that, with no problem at all! Thanks for the tip.
