What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 581

So this time it’s late because of Gremlins, blogger and the iPad again,  not me! sorry if it affects you, gentle Desker. It’s only a bit of fun though, so no probs really, huh?!
Whoa. This whizzday thing is just getting out of hand! This post is scheduled, not because I want to avoid being so late to publish like last week, but to give me a head start on the day. I have visitors! Miss Dunnit and The Current Squeeze are at home at last and how marvellous it is to have the dynamic of the house upset! It won’t last, they have to be grown ups and go back to their own lives tomorrow, but for now, I’m getting on their nerves by following them about and insisting we do things together!  So there’s been a lot of dumping at the desk section. However, I did finish my ephemera folios and have almost posed them for your viewing pleasure!
The folios really make sense to me, and I will be able to test them a little this weekend as I’m ‘attending’ an online crop and looking forward to it, I must say. Haven’t made a LO for a couple of weeks now. See the empty plastic boxes at right? they were the ephemera boxes that I was wading through each time I wanted an embellishment for a page. Now I have a folio for tags, florals, words...you get it. It should work.
The stickers are Miss Dunnit’s business identity, The Shrieking Wizard Co. in the 24 hours that she’s been home I’ve blagged a few bits off her for scrapbooking purposes. Bragging, she calls it. But hey, I’m the mother and I’m allowed. I accept that there’s some serious clearing up to do before I can use this esk. It shall be done. But probably not today! show me yours then, bet you’re not in this state!

  1. Yay. Glad the blogger gremlins have been sorted out Julia. Enjoy your time with family. The folios look a bit easier to go through than the plastic box. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

  3. I had to Google Miss Dunnit's alter ego of course - how fab!!?? I hope you squished her good and proper. Boo to the gremlins but yay to the almost completed folios. Just don't drop them, kay?... Are you Go Go Ing this weekend? I'm away but thinking of totally changing what I was going to take now! (I accidentally linked up to the gremlin post by the way). Have a fantabulous week! 4. Those pesky gremlins!! Still you are here now. I do hope those folios help for you, it's always best when similar things are in the same place. The potential for mess when you are looking for something in lots of places is enormous! Make the most of your family day, with lots of hugs. Stay well, stay safe, Cindy #7

  5. Morning Julia. Yay - finished those folios. Well done you. Nothing so organised at this end, I'm afraid- I'm stripping! - wallpaper, that is, off the lounge wall. Your desk looks considerably tidier than my living room floor... but that's what happens when you get this sudden urge to do something constructive.
So glad Miss Dunnit and friend are home - enjoy every minute! - Of course you should be following her around and doing stuff together... you're her mum! Have a great day.
    Take care. God bless.

  6. I think you should use that as your Nom de Plume - Miss Ephemera Folio...either that or it could be your Stripper Name.....
Have a great time with the kiddlywinks,

  9. Hi Julia
It's always good to have the family home, believe me I'm enjoying every minute as I know when things are back to normal she'll be off. Uni is beckoning again but not till Oct so I have a bit longer to enjoy.
Love your folio idea. My problem is that I'd put them somewhere tidy and then loose them like I've done with my die cut box. But I might have a think what would work for me, it's brilliant idea so I may be borrowing sort of....if you get my drift.
    Have a great week

  16. I think bragging about your kids has to be one of the best perks of them growing Julia, so I am grinning and nodding over that :) I like the idea of the little folders but, my own bran would put them back in the box because, I could see them in the box and I'd probably just dump in smack in the middle of the table every time I wanted something in it to shift through it like it was playing yatzee haha. ~Stacy #24

  17. I am such a nosey old so and so. I had to have a look at the Wizard bit and decided that Jenny is your daughter, she sounds like you anyway and there was a slight clue in the name. Go on, tell me I am completely wrong.
I can well imagine you following her about the house, you want your daughter fix don't you. Not too much to ask of a dear mother. Hope you approve of the current squeeze although I don't suppose it makes much difference whether you do or not, these young adults make their own minds up don't they.
As for tidying up that desk - forget it - enjoy the family whilst you can and worry about the Gremlins and whatever another time. We made it so what the heck!

  18. Hello my dear faraway friend! A flurry of craft goodness on your desk today. So your daughter and her beau are visiting. That is nice. Of course I naively say that because my kids are still young and haven't brought anyone home yet. I think I will be a wreck when they start dating. Today we are finally receiving relief from what I would define is a heat wave. It was so hot and humid for days and I felt so drained, not much was accomplished. I had some goals of how many cards I would like to have made by the end of the month and I am pretty sure I will miss it despite the strong start at the beginning of the month. I hope your visit goes well and you get some time to return to crafting. Oh and have fun at your Zoom crop. My weekly group has decided that whenever this pandemic ends that we will still keep our zoom sessions. I love not lugging all of my crap around. Have a wonderful day, my friend and be safe.

  19. Happy WOYWW. Very happy to get this post published, just in time before I venture out of my craft room and downstairs to get on with 'real work. Hope you have had a lovely day with family. Rich is out cycling 250 km with mates - so I have had a nice quiet house and sorted out rubbish! Ali x #28

  20. Enjoy your visit! And quit sending your gremlins across the pond!!

Let me know how if the folios "feel" better for ease of use.

    Happy Wednesday!

  21. Really happy to read you are getting some family time together Julia, important things take priority and what can be more precious than our little ones. I did pop over early morn before I hit the road but was greeted with last weeks post which I failed on miserably, Wednesdays are becoming a problem as i've had to reschedule some of my care duties, so i'll pop in when I can to check all's well with you and your workdesk. Wishing you the happiest of WoywW's Tracey xx
P.S Miss D's business would sure interest my wee one x Stay safe xx

  22. How wonderful to have daughter and squeeze home for a visit! And to get all your ephemera sorted and put away is quite an accomplishment! Your daughter's business name is interesting! What does she do?
    Have a great week!

  23. It sounds as if the new Blogger is more trouble than it's worth. Sorry you had problems with your post this week, but glad it's all sorted now. Thank you for visiting and I'm glad you like my tiny carpets! I am really enjoying doing them. As for my hubby's situation, yes, the GP did prescribe Slimming World but he was just focusing on the weight and seemed to have a blind spot as far as the statins were concerned, focusing merely on his family history. However, he did have to revise his opinion when he saw the latest results! He says he's the best off of all the members of the Slimming World group because they all have to shop and cook for themselves, and he has me to do it all for him! It does help.

    Happy WOYWW,

  24. Hi Julia! How nice to have your DD at home for awhile! I haven't seen mine since Christmas, and won't until her wedding in September. Enjoy! I love the name of her business, what kind of business is it? Your ephemera books look great, I'm sure you will get a lot of use from them! Lindart #26
