What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 542

No sign of panic here! Shopkeeper Gal told me last Thursday that it was just a month till the Card Marathon. It made me feel a bit queasy and gave me an urgent need to get to my desk. So at the weekend, I spent way too much time making this mess and have only three cards that I think are worth submitting for others to copy. Why, another week of uninterrupted desk time and I might be ready! I think the only thing that might need explaining is the empty cotton bud pot next to my ATG gun.  It’s there because Zsuzsa had a fab project on Marit’s Dutch Summer series and I intend to copy it. It will make an excellent and useful pot to put things in, as Winnie the Pooh would say. I intend it to hold my lovely foam moulded pieces. I love a plan.
So lovely desker, when your eyes are less sore from the shock of my desk, please show me yours. It’s all about reciprocity. Put WOYWW in your post title and link here, the one part of my week that stays routine and makes me thankful.

  1. No, no signs of panic at all!! I have been making Christmas cards again too - voluntarily!! see my desk (although they are the same designs as last week, no point breaking a winning run) I am sure by next week your card marathon prep will be done and dusted.

  2. At least I can identify items on your desk Julia. I spotted your house card too.. Good luck with the card marathon. Uninterrupted desk time sounds like heaven to me like a 2 for 1. I'm trying not to panic about Christmas cards until November :/ Happy WoywW Tracey (3)

I truly don't know how I get so far behind.I make messes and don't even know they exisit until I am looking for something I just had. Maybe too much computer time? I do like your little houses. And happy to know others have messy areas also. thank you ! Happy WOYWW

  7. It is so encouraging to see someone else's desk showing signs of frantic activity, mine always looks like that if I am actually working.

  8. Spent Sunday in a beautiful inspiring studio where shelves held boxes labelled up and there were lots of things to touch, admire and drool over.

  10. Hi Julia, my eyes are not sore just still half a sleep as I've had a lie in this morning as I'm not going to the gym but doing a small workshop making Christmas cards with a couple of friends who wanted to know how to make box cards. Anyway....I have to say I like the look of the card on your desk too. I can understand you keeping the empty container my problem is that I keep them and then don't use them and there has to be a clear out when I move into the new cabin. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x13x

  12. Haha, and here I am thinking that I've earned the messiest desk award this week! I'm back after three weeks and lucky too as I've got mention on your blog - aaawww! Sometimes thinking of our future projects is more satisfying than actually doing them LOL! Happy WOYWW, Julia! xx

  13. Well ladybug your desk is quite a busy one this week! When mine begins to look like this, and it often does, I begin to lose things. Usually a die goes missing and I go totally crazy when that happens!

  15. Yes Julia we all join in the panic chorus. Although some tidier than others, I always find messy deaks comforting esp if others. I actually found a missing set of stamps this week. Shock! Put away, but in bottom of drawer not top! Something incongruous there. And am sure Winnie would put hunny in his useful pot!
No Christmas cards chez moi needed some others. Did most folks last week but you'll be only one this week. Really busy day, its now 10:13pm and my iPad and blogger aren't talking so on mobile. Hence took longer tonight. Phone will load sites but iPad says I'm not connected.. only on blogs though! Frustrating. Pray they sort it. Tried rebooting it will try again overnight.
Nighty night, hope you get lovely sunshine when the fog burns off.
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too.
    Happy WOYWW.

  19. I think mine looked worse while I was cleaning since it became the dump spot of everything I was reorganizing the last few days. (mines pretty clean now though so, not as interesting to look at)
Love the little snowflake houses card Julia :) ~Stacy #23

  22. Hi Julia, sorry for the late post. You've made more cards than I have, but I'm going to knuckle down and get crafting! It's just a shame work gets in the way so much! I'll keep an eye out for what you do with the pot - I'm like you, can never have too many pots for bits and bobs! Have a lovely week Heather xx #27

  25. You can do it, you can do it - keep repeating but say I can do it. I am sure you will, you have such a wealth of knowledge behind you and you are an old hand at this sort of thing (a young old hand I hasten to add).
I really must get myself sorted on the :C: card front and decide what to do as a special card but to be honest the mojo for that has gone and I can only think of the one card that I began in January/February which was a conveyer belt type card.
I agree, Zsuzsa did a simply superb project - I just loved it - might use that as a start to my mojo. Now what do I need?
    Hugs, Neet 7 xx

  26. Now that's a really busy (messy?) desk, Julia! I am quite sure you will rise to the occasion and get everything you need done in time. I look forward to seeing how you alter the little pot. Thank you for your visit, and glad you like my slippers! So far the kitties haven't shown any interest in them. These kitties are the first ones we've had that don't wear collars. Ruby in particular would freak out completely if we tried - she was put in a cone of shame after she pulled her spaying operation stitches out, and by the time my hubby got her home from the vet (a 5 min car drive) she'd managed to get the edge of it stuck in her mouth and was in a terrible state!! She had to go straight back and the vet put her in a little body suit. She hates being brushed and is impossible to give pills to, and I can't see her tolerating a collar for 5 seconds!

  27. Happy Friday, Dear Lady! Boy am I behind. My daughter came over on Wednesday wanting to use my stash to make Halloween cards. She doesn’t do stairs well or safely. I cannot say how many trips I made up and down, lugging stamps, ink paper! You name it! Didn’t make anything myself. She recently moved. Her craft room is still in boxes. Although I gave her a stamp platform, she really hadn’t used it, until I brought mine up. She has severe arthritis and had been afraid to try it. I think the ice is broken now, since I was there to help and support. I haven’t been very productive. Still enjoy just making the pieces and parts. Rarely finish anything.. on the rare occasion that I finish “A” card, it’s just one. Still unable to make more than one at a time.
Just not organized with my time. Started a water aerobics class with a neighbor. Tuesday and Thursday. Can’t seem to get much done before or after.
    Have a good weekend.
