I’ve tidied my desk in an effort to shake off the ridiculous number of erm, ‘drafts’ that I ended up making before the card with the houses on came together. I want to use house stamps, really like them. Turns out I can’t do a thing with a solid house stamp! And I’m trying to organise the scrapbooking cupboard ahead of a crop at the weekend..which is why the plastic boxes are teetering...they contain embellishments, ephemera and erm...GKW. And then spin again and a box of card stock is supporting the box of Christmas stamps. I cant even recall the contents of the baskets; good grief. No wonder I’m running away to Southampton for the day!
Make my day by sharing and telling just as I have done won’t you please, put WOYWW in your post title and link your blog here. Job’s a good ‘un.
Have a lovely day with Miss D... good luck in Ikea... Not a place I go often as they are always out of reach without cars... probably as well!! I'll be working having been off yesterday for a funeral of a neighbour so playing catch up. That pile of boxes looks as if it would fall in a sneeze-beat so take care!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had the chance to put my feet up today Julia. Hope IKEA isn't too crowded. I was going to ask what GKW stands for but twigged at the last minute. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteJust like Sarah above I have just twigged GKW after puzzling and almost asking. See I read the comments for a cue but didn't find one so common sense kicked in just in time.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day with DD and Ikea. My other half loves that place - NOT! Does enjoy the cafe though!
Hugs, Neet 7 xx
Ikea....my fav shop to browse (and of course buy a think or twenty). Enjoy your day with the younger generation.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Enjoy your day. Ikea is great for storage and stuff you didnt realise you needed! I know what you mean about the house stamps i too struggle. On the plus side some great snacks at IKEA!!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia. There is a massive Ikea at Sheffield and I may have some reason to visit it soon but saying nothing yet. I hope you have a lovely day out. I'm just off to the Gym but will be back later to see what everyone's been up to. Sending hugs for a happy woyww, Angela x11x
ReplyDeleteHave a great time with Miss Dunnit - always lots to see in Ikea - just need plenty of dosh! xx Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, have a fab day, and maybe some meatballs! I do love IKEA, although it's a lot of walking, lol. I am totally aquainted with how much mess tidying and organising creates. Love and hugs, Shaz #4 XxXxXx
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time out and Ikea. I have to say that is one store I have never been inside of. I'm not too sure there is one close to me. I just make do with things I have or order online. Happy WOYWW! Glenda #14
ReplyDeleteI struggle to remember what's in my boxes as well! It's quite uplifting discovering things you never knew you had - I'm sure the day will come when I buy something not realising that I already have it! Going to Ikea now that the schools are back is probably a wise idea - given the fact that most parents use it as a playground for their unruly kids to run around. We like to go at night when it's open late! Have fun in Southampton! xx (not linked yet)
ReplyDeleteI love the little house stamp and the cards look great. Enjoy Ikea and your mum/daughter time.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Diana xx #15
Super day ahead for you! Enjoy! Love just walking round that place to see what would be available if I was interested.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week

Hope you enjoy IKEA trip-I’m not safe in there as I always buy something!! My worktable is still swamped so I have been knitting! Happy day out with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteYes there definitely a way of tidying efficiently but I dont know it, Julia mine looks like yours piles.. and piles of GKW as you say, can see your borrowing Carol’s description from last week as your new fav acronym.
ReplyDeleteHope ikea is great fun .... never been to one but prob just as well.

Good morning Julia! Actually it's morning here but afternoon there if I have my time change correct. I am taking a peek at a few desks before I am off to the salon to hide some gray hairs! I have noticed that the time between visits are getting shorter because those little buggers keep popping up. My gray hairs love to make an entrance. They break off and stick out like antenna. Like they are calling out, "Look at the old lady! Yeah here she is right here!!"
ReplyDeleteYour desk is looking mighty organized. I like house stamps too but never know what to do with them either. I dabbled with some watercolors yesterday and thought I would share them with you on my desk. Have fun at Ikea with the ladies. I just went to Ikea last week and stuffed my belly with those yummy swedish meatballs!

So, I had a really nice comment. I played click on the photos for 5 minutes where it just kept giving me more screens to click on and I got so irritated I have now mostly forgotten what I told you.
ReplyDeletebut, it was something along the lines of I like little houses but, mine are dies so, I was wondering if you'd enjoy yours a little more if you cut them out with scissors and played with them that way some time?
and I grinned that you cleaned because, that is what I have been up to. ~Stacy #24
IKEA! Much too tempting, Julia. All that lovely storage - perfect for all that GKW. I like the house stamp though not sure what I'd do with them too. I'm sure you'll return refreshed from your day out with your girl and bursting with ideas. Have a great day. Hugs, Elizabeth x #21
ReplyDeleteHope you’re having fun at IKEA! It’s an adventure, isn’t it? Good food available too! Do you have a raskog cart? So perfect! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteHope Ikea was fun with miss D and not too expensive! Love the tidy desk area. Thanks for sharing and hosting us all. Happy WOYWW. Have a lovely week. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#12)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great time! Our closest IKEA is over 100 miles away but I've been there twice in 12 years.
ReplyDeleteYep, GKW is a great acronym!
Hope you get your GKW figured out! LOL!

Enjoy your time together! Hugs!

Hi Julia,
ReplyDeleteHope Southampton was fun. I sympathise with the teetering piles of GKW - but these things always get worse before they get better!
Amelia #26
Oh have fun.. enjoy lots of things..no IKEA close to us. But I dream. Hoping to be back in the loop by next week. I guess it was a long blogging break.
ReplyDeleteLate again, but I'm here. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your Ikea trip, Julia. We've got one locally now but I haven't been there yet. As for your comment on my blog, thanks... (I think...). I can't agree with you that people's negative reports of their PIP experiences on YouTube might be cooked up. They seemed genuine enough to me and I have no reason to doubt them. The system is deeply flawed, and there is genuine suffering across the board. This is well attested, far beyond the scope of YouTube, and confirmed also when I saw my GP in the afternoon and told him what I'd been doing in the morning. He pulled a face, and said he had a whole list of horror stories from his patients who had been through it. You have to experience it to know how devastating it can be. And it's never a waste of time to encourage and reassure people.
ReplyDeleteAlthough my assessment wasn't as bad as I expected, it was still a huge ordeal. As a result of all the stress of this week, I didn't realise till this evening (Friday) that I hadn't actually published my WOYWW post for this week and it was still only in draft form. I've published it now, but it's out of sync with yesterday's.
