Oh my...a week to go to the ninth anniversary. Can you believe it. Someone ought to, please, because I can't! You can find out about how to join our ATC PiF on the day by looking at the page titled ATCs at the top of this blog. HERE IS A LINK, that's easier, huh! I do want to stress that the PiF is entirely voluntary and you don't have to take part in the PiF to take part in next week's WOYWW.
Now then...
Bathed in late afternoon sun. SO clearly not this morning's picture. That's because there's a dirty great file on it now, to remind me to sort out the business Insurances. It's all glamour, this desk. So yesterday, I had cleared up after a bit of a scrapbook splurge and went back to making ATCs. Cunningly hidden, I think you'll agree! On the right are a bag, a squashed 'penny' and three 'genuine' arrowheads that I got at the Grand Canyon last summer. I squish a 'penny' wherever I can. Although, it's actually a 50cent piece and it costs a dime to squish it, so it's not really anywhere near a penny. Which I didn't even know was US currency. Or is it a nickname? I digress. They are waiting to go in a particular pocket in my album, and they are on the desk to remind me. I wonder how long they'll be there! There's some stamps from my Mary inheritance, too. Am waiting for her to inspire me! The watermelon plastic bag at left of the iPad stand holds my lovely fountain pen and some little bottles of coloured inks. The photo on my iPad stand is a montage of shots from Miss D's 19th birthday. Less about her and more about the cake pops I made for everyone. Never again. Inspired? Blimey! Please share what you're doing and forgive my drivel, I promise it won't stay in your head for long. Put WOYWW in your post title and link here, we'll visit. That'll do.
WOW, a 50 cent piece? That's half a dollar, dear. 50 pennies, in fact. They are relatively rare, too, because people don't use them when paying in cash.
LOVE the desk. Clean and organized. Here's to a great week, regardless of business insurance forms!
Morning Julia. Hmmm... your comments have reminded me I also need to do my accounts, having been away... oh well, LATER! I've actually made my ATCs as well - brilliant. All ready for next week. Have a great day. Take care. God bless. Margaret #4
Once you get all that nasty work out of the way you can play at least it's nice a sunny to be sitting at your desk glad my cards made it to have fun picking which one you want Hugs Nikki 6
Ooh, leave your pennies (or whatever currency equivalent) and the arrowheads on your desk and give us a close up - please. Would love to see your penny collection and would dearly love to see the arrowheads. Did you pick them off the ground in the GC or buy them? You have me so intrigued now. Hugs, Neet 7 xx
Glad you've had some crafting time in your busy schedule, get the accounts done quickly so you can do some more....especially those hidden ATCs...genius 😉 Hugs LLJ 8 xx
Oh Julia, i've not squished a penny since my first Son was born, taking him up Blackpool Tower nearly ahem.. 25 years ago!! Hoping it's in his treasure box full of *what on earth is this* memoirs!! Love that morning Sun creeping through the window, there has been plenty of that over the past few days. I feel so proud for you on the eve of you 9 years of WOW service, it's a HUGE feat my only wish is I had joined when I very first discovered you. Such an enjoyable journey and i'm looking forward to seeing everyone's commemorative ATC's. Creative Hugs Tracey #5
Oh how lovely to see your sunshine today. It’s very gloomy and raining here this morning. Our ATCs are all in the envelopes ready to post and really looking forward to it now. (There’s a PIF one waiting too). Hugs, Annie x
Glorious sunshine on your desk, Julia! Not nearly as sunny today, but quite atmospheric. I do like a bit of gloom now and then. Getting all excited about the anniversary - I wish I had been part of WOYWW since its inception 9 years ago but I still feel lucky that I discovered it at all! xx
Aah yes, the items left on the desk awaiting inspiration - they dstay there so long I wonder if I am ever really inspired. And cake pops. Yes, I agree, we won't go there...Happy WOYWW, Cidy xx
Hi Julia, I'm disappointed Lol! when you said file I immediately thought a craft tool and that you were up to some new technique I hadn't seen before then read on.... how disappointing. Oh well, maybe next time. Happy woyww, Angela x23x
I really should do my accounts, but that can wait! We're celebrating a 19 year old daughter this week but I definitely won't be attempting cake pops. Far too much faff and gone in one bite!
Hi Julia, Love the squished penny! We do those whenever we see one of the machines too. Got one at the Science Museum we visited. No sun here this morning either. Gone overcast & windy, the last couple of days were gorgeous. I seriously doubt there has been a blog hop that has continuously run for this long- Maybe a Guinness Book Of Records place is in your future? Love & Hugs, Shaz XxXx #10
Hello Julia! I can't wait to see all the beautiful ATCs when the swap is over. As for the squished penny. My sons and I collect them wherever we go. Last year, we did some in Disney. I think there is even a website my youngest checks to find out where he can make them before we go somewhere. Well I am off to an appointment and then tomorrow I am going to do some snooping around the lovely WOYWW desks. Have a blessed day! Belinda #28
yep, we really do have coin's called pennies I am not sure what they would be equivalent to for you but, one hundred pennies are in one dollar. and the last time I smooshed a penny the machine required a dollar to do the work lol. I love how the light is streaming through, and I grinned over the packages stamp as I have that one too in my stash. Happy Wednesday Julia, ~Stacy #29
A penny for your thoughts I guess lol! Work, work isn't much fun but at least you have something fun to look forward to when you finish the work, work. Me I have no idea what I'm doing today, so I guess that's something to look forward to lol! Angie
Well, for the first time since I started WOYWW, I have an (1) ATC to share! Hopefully next year I will have more! But one is a start! I wonder who it will go to. . .! I always feel for you when you say you have business (number) things to do, my worst nightmare. . .so glad I don't have to do it! Hope your Spring is as lovely as ours is so far, have a great week, Lindart #29
Great looking workspace in the afternoon sun. I wish I had more direct light in my office! I think those ATC are very cleverly hidden! Want to swap? Hope you have a great week! Vickie #34
Hi Julia, sorry to be so late! Rather you than me with the insurance paperwork. Is that a stamp for the back of ATCs, I spy? What a good idea! I tried to print some labels - but they are a tad too large! Please can you let me know your address for me to post your ATC ... I'm getting all excited about the swap. Congrats on keeping this blog going for so long ... what an achievement! Have a lovely week Heather x #12
Hi Miss Julia! I collect the pennies, as well. I have them from all over the US thanks to a swap I was in once. I may even have some duplicates if you'd like to have them. Sorry I was off last week. Bob got called out and we spent Wed. trying to get things ready for him to leave. Creative Blessings! Kelly #35
Can't see your desk very well, working on my phone! All this talk of swapping ATCs, I am definitely going to find a way of making a couple, mmay not be very special but I do so want to join the party! 😊😊 Chris #11 I think
Darn, I won't be doing the swap this year, got oodles to do before going to our granddaughter's graduation in California in a couple weeks. Your desk looks pretty organized considering you're making your ATCs. Hope you got you bookwork done! Have a great week! Carol N #27
Well I'm back, and have my ATC's ready to go. Really no good connections for my kindle there. My son has a govt system so can't use it, or don't want to. Was a great trip to east coast as I missed their storms. had a 6 hr delay but at least got to go out. Will play along coming week. Your desk looks awesome, I can't even find a space to work on mine. Enjoy the weekend.
Well I have made some atcs so I can relax now... shame you have to spend some of today doing accounts! hope i won't take too long. Helen #1

ReplyDeleteHi Julia, It's nice to have the sun. Looks like you have been busy with the ATCs.
ReplyDeleteDid you just pick the arrowheads up in the canyon, or were they for sale? My dad saw the Grand Canyon and he said it was awesome.
Happy WOYWW
