Christmas Greetings!

I want to wish you a really happy Christmas, and I want you all to wish and push for Peace On Earth.
This year our Christmas tree has red lights and white lights. The white lights are a set of 500 that I very carefully wrapped and arranged around the tree. Then I plugged them in and discovered that only about 200 of them actually work. So then I strung the red ones which were an impulse purchase and intended for something else. The something else idea was immediately a gonner. I was already frustrated by the lighting and still had decorating to do. Lawks, no end of Christmas spirit round this tree!

The decorations are, I admit, a bit scant; it may have started to take too long and my will to decorate was retreating. Each hanging decoration has a story to tell and means something to us. Me. Probably us, but I don't know if Mr Dunnit could actually tell you the story for each one! Anyway, the point here is that we have a well lit tree, this year giving a warm red glow. Think of it as the warmth that we would extend to you in welcome if you were ever to step through our door. It seems entirely within the message of Christmas to say - we live in hope.

  1. Merry Christmas dear Julia. Like you I pray for peace, but doubt we will see it in our lifetime. I hope you have a fabulous Christmas, filled with joy, laughter, and love.

  5. Happy Christmas Julia dn your hubby.

I like your tree. I am going to try and get a small one that I can place up on one of my sideboards for next year. Can't have a tree on the floor as Honey will no doubt get caught up in the lights and baubles will go everywhere:)

Hope you have a lovely day. Sue

PS....Thank you for the lovely Christmas card.

  7. I gave up on decorations after Hubby declined to help take them down and the next year I loaned out a special collection of tree ornaments and she left them out for me to pick up and they were stolen. I felt it a message from the old goddesses telling me to get merry and forget the tinsel. making dinner for 5. Hubby is opening bottle of wine!

Have a happy day and creative joy and happening in 2016.\

  9. Merry Christmas Julia, to you and your husband. Your tree looks lovely. I wasn't going to bother this year as we are visiting family rather than family visiting us, but Mr M put the tree up, and after 2 days I had to decorate it ... it looked lost and miserable without anything on it. Best wishes, Heather x

  12. Merry Christmas Julia! We too had some issues with our lights! My tree is a hand me down from my sister and a little scraggly, but I still like it because it has pictures of the family all around. I really have to add to it though so I have something new every year! Better late then never! :^))) patsy
