Sorry about the number typo last week. It's evidence of fat fingers and of course, doesn't come up in a spell check, so it took me a while to spot it! Ah well, as long as we're here, no matter the number, particularly!
I'm doing that five minutes here and there thing - spot breakfast! And in those five minutes here and there, I'm trying to batch make cards, 13 each of five designs. I could easily have said 'No' when asked, but it's for the charity that I drew a lot of support from during the brain surgery months, so I'm delighted to. It's forcing time management out of me and that's a jolly good thing. Ho Ho Ho. Under the plate with the toast is my folder of dies and some blank cards. Centre is the unglued prototype of the next design..I'm about to scuff a bit of ink down the sides of the mount, hence the egg sponge. At right there's a tangle of ribbon - chosen and then discarded as a possible embellishment for this card. There's my coffee (it's that early, I haven't finished it yet!) and a mess of bubble wrap. I'm starting to collect it to use in a workshop next week. So that's me! Share with me and some others, will ya? Put WOYWW in your blog post title and link it here. Visiting today will be interrupted by a trip to see my lovely Mama and Sissy. Another nice afternoon, I hope! See you at your place.
Have been hitting 'refresh' for 10 minutes, turn my back and here you are! Love the prototype card - great design. Have a great afternoon, hope the weather is kind to you! off to get my toast now!
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia. Now, 13 of each design is a goodly number - manageable - not too many that we get bored of it!! Good thinking. Hope you have a great day with mum and sis.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Oh I keep all foodstuffs well away from my desk - I am SO clumsy, I'd have crumbs, butter, tea, water all over the place in a blink of an eye...
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I'll hit no. 1 spot, but for now
Happy WOYWW!

You're a one woman card machine 😃 It couldn't be for a better cause though. Hope you have a good afternoon visiting your folks 💖

I quite like batch making - once you have the design sorted it's quite nice to have lots of cards made all at once - even if they are all the same! Enjoy your trip this afternoon - hope your weather is better that it has been here in N.Ireland (flooding weather warning!!)
ReplyDeleteBernice #1 (I'm not usually up this early - just couldn't sleep!)
Morning Julia. I'm definitely seeing the benefits of batch making! I'm with Claire about food on my desk - it really would end up everywhere. I even try to remember to keep my coffee on a separate table as I know I will spill it! Have a lovely day visiting. I'm off to work soon, had to swap my day off, grrr!! Heather #6
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the batch card making and well done you for supporting the cause. Hope you have a lovely day with your family.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Well done you on making cards for such a good cause and for being on the ball with it all.
ReplyDeleteIve got loads of bubble wrap if you want it Julia let me know.
I'm trying to train myself to go in the office first thing in the morning and get it over and done with. Time management is not something I'm any good at.
Lynn xx
It's no good Julia, I've got to start those Christmas cards. I will promise myself to start them as soon as the kids are back at school that way I can give myself a deadline to work with. Yours look like being extra special and all in a good cause too. Have a great woyww, Angela x12x
ReplyDeleteahhh...
ReplyDeletePlans with a capital P, they're great to have, Julia, and even better when they actually come off.
Can relate to your batch making done to help others too. Makes us use our stash, so that's gotta be good!
I'm aiming to do a few card for Rudolph day as realise the months are rushing by!!!
Happy WOYWW!

If you've managed to design your card then batch making isn't so bad, you get into a rhythm after a while. Love the design I see. Have a great visit this afternoon. Sarah #18
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I'm loving that prototype! What a great idea- I may borrow that, lol. All in the spirit of WOYWW sharing, of course! Coffee, now there's another brilliant idea. I need to go make another before I do anything else. Love & hugs to you, Shaz #7 XxX
ReplyDeleteEgg sponge - glad you explained that as I was curious. Blessings rather than crafting for me this week. BJ#21
ReplyDeleteAre you crafting with your breakfast, now that's what I call dedication. I'm not fit for anything before my toast and tea!!! Batching making is great though isn't it, you get so much done, I'm all for it. Enjoy your afternoon and it's great to be back among the deskers again.

Happy WOYWW. I am even struggling today to form the words to comment on your blog - so all I can say is that I hope you finished your breakfast! Ali x #25
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't know you have had brain surgery, have you recovered fully from it? I certainly hope so <3 It's a good thing to support causes we have compassion and gratitude for and I love the cards you are designing for them. Have a great afternoon xo Cheetarah happy WOYWW #24
ReplyDeleteI can tell you're multi-tasking Julia! 13 each of 5 designs - wow! - my calculator tells me that's 65 cards in total (yes, I did have to use a calculator for that - though I realise I could have done that easily in my head, but mental maths scares me and I black-out LOL!) Good luck with the card factory - they're for a good cause from the sounds of it! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, the wreath die-cut is lovely - I'm assuming it's a die-cut as I can't see you you fussy cutting out thirteen wreaths. Why such an odd number, I wonder. I should adopt your five minutes here and there thing. It could make me a lot more productive than I currently am. Hope you're having a lovely afternoon. Hugs, Elizabeth x #27
ReplyDeleteI made it and it is still morning here! Whahoo! :) I think it is wonderful that you are doing those cards. I hope you have a wonderful visit this afternoon. My tea has gotten cold too, while posting my Blog this morning. So, will sign off now and have my tea! :) #30
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a lot of cards! There will be some serious crafting going on at your desk this week! Have a great week, thanks for sharing, Lindart #33
ReplyDeleteHello my friend! I am sweating over here. The temps rose to mid 90s yesterday so I am inside with the dreaded air conditioner but also having a great time at my craft desk.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how chipper I am at the beginning of projects I have to batch make cards but. I mean really, it's all laid out and alls I have to do is repeat it but boy do I become a crankasauraus after about card 5 depending on the detail!!
Hope you have a blessed day!

13 of each design and I am number 13 this week. I daren't have food or drink on my desk. Take care. Anickoana #13
ReplyDeleteNever heard of or seen an egg sponge before! Interesting! And good to know I'm not the only one who eats and drinks at my desk! LOL! Great looking prototype so far. Hope you get all accomplished in the time you have! Hope you have a great visit with your Mama and Sissy.

Your desk is lookin good. I want to see what you do with the bubble wrap.
ReplyDeleteApril
I keep meaning to ask you where you got your 'pink eggs' from. I'm sure you have said in the past but like everything else, I should have made a note and promptly forgot. I've seen them in Avon catalogues but at the price they are asking for one, it is cheaper to stick with the flesh coloured ones from Creative Expressions.

So much fun ideas all about. I really love that die circle wreath, the ideas are abundant. And the bubble wrap use is always unique hoping to try it with this time I have available. Lots of rain here today, so kinda of gloomy, ENjoy a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love that statement, I could say no...but...that's how I feel when my sister asks me to make things for my niece and nephews. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful cause you are supporting, batch making is manageable at that number I guess. Can you tell I don't like batch making - but it is a necessary evil when you have to do lots of cards. Then again, I don't make many cards these days - all I seem to do is journal.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your day out and feel good for it - did you spend much?
Hugs, Neet (yes, a hug is on the cards for September) xx
