It's after midnight, Tuesday. We've been to Miss Dunnit's University to view an exhibition. All the theatre arts are represented; Miss Dunnit's course is Prop Making and Special Effects. It was amazing, the talent was breath-taking. It's not just a 'proud parents evening'; the exhibition forms a part of their course and the success of it is therefore very important. It's open for a week at Northbrook College in Goring if you're interested. After we'd looked very closely at everything, we had a quick tour of the studios. Because they're students, they each have a cubicle type desk to work at, and....
this is Miss Dunnit's space! A painted and graffitied area with a large amount of polystyrene left from a previous project. The room was a shambles and all of us visitors just gazed at it in awe, some because they didn't know what to say about the mess, others because it was all ingredients for creativity and it had to be looked at, and still others because the smell of glue and resin was quite strong! I might show you more, but I have to gather permissions first. If you're a theatre or film addict though, I would rest assured - the future is in good hands! Share do, what you've been up to since last Wednesday's goliath 8 year anniversary...which was great fun, thank you!
HMMM! I'm the first to leave a comment and I haven't got a single thing to share this week. I am in awe of the career your daughter has chosen. I'm fairly certain she will always have work, especially if she's as good as her mother. This (and scientists) is a profession that will be employable for years and years to come. Good for her!

I so didn't expect your post so early, I could have done mine last night LOL. WOW what an amazing Uni course so creative, I wonder where Miss D gets that from?? I did hit on your word "Shambles" for my blog title today, as my desk is certainly that - in my sense of the word. Having to type this in mid air over my planned scrapbook page!!! Great desk, but then Miss Dunnit has had plenty of examples to follow thanks to her mum. I was totally unartistic at university as I studied languages I did tread the boards in a German play each year, but had very little to do with 'behind the scenes'. Happy WOYWW Sarah #22

It sounds absolutely fascinating, Julia. I would have loved to do such a course if I was 18 again and if I lived nearer would definitely go and have a look. We stepped back and looked at ours and said - see that pair of intelligent gifted well rounded productive human beings? - we made them... Well Julia you always surprise, when saw the photo, I thought where on earth is Julia. I'll be honest I dint in a million years guess a uni students desk. But I well remover our art room in student days and chaos reigned there too, though perhaps more orderly than things are generally done today. Nothing more fascinating then seeing just what your progeny are up too Julia, something very satisfying about it, and in very worthy way too, well done all!! Thanks for sharing! This I have to share with you - this morning Mr G said - have you seen the letter box key we have mail - ( all french poste is delivered at end of drive to a locked box or even locked box in next village depending)... I said - Mais Oui, I have seen it this very morning, but could I for the heck of me remember where... eventually after much searching we found the spare key tucked safely away in the cab of his JCB digger (?) ... I just looked at my post comments glanced at my desk and yes ... there is the KEY!!!! it will of course be placed in it's more normal storage space that is the gubbins bowl before Mr D returns to the barn ...
I bet it was a great exhibition, very exciting. My boy's best friend is absolutely loving it there. He never would have known the course existed without you and your girl and the connections made by sharing our desks. I love thinking of that.

Hi Julia, lovely post. It's so nice to hear about your daughter's studies and see here work space.
