What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 397

Well well, I have something to report! It's slow, painful and utterly predictable at this stage, but I was really enjoying it! Dark and cold here when I took this photo, late last night. I had to give up on it because I couldn't find a colour that worked for me. I will. I hate to abandon an idea, they're so rare!
Looks pretty tidy huh? Stuff was largely swept aside, but that's OK, I'll be inviting back as I get into it...it was all stuff I need, so it wont be too long. I'm using vellum (feels like I'm bringing back the 70's or something!) and have in mind to colour the reverse and layer it one or oother image over TH's clock die. Wine O'clock, see? Well, so far..... As I type this, I'm thinking I may have to go back to bed...I have the shivers and shakes and think I'm coming down with something. I may be a little light on visiting today, depends how effective the paracetomol are going to be! Do what you always do please, inspire, educate and enable, it wouldn't be the same without you!

  4. Oh dear, hope you are not coming down with this cold that everyone seems to be getting. Take care dear Julia for it goes on the chest with most people. Plenty of fluids and rest are the order of the day/week. That image on vellum (looks nice) and the TH die will be waiting when you feel a bit better.

  14. Hope a good night's sleep has helped you get back on track and finish that project! Nothing like a bit of Night Nurse to ensure a restful sleep when feeling poorly!

  17. Hi Julia, sorry it sounds like you're getting this rotten bug thats going round. Treat yourself gently and keep snug! Vellum eh? I must have a few decades worth of the blasted stuff, in every colour and print imaginable. Finally learnt not to buy like it's going out of style. 'Cos it did. Hugs, to you and lots of love, Shaz xx#7

  18. Ooh as others have said it's a nasty bug doing the rounds so take care and hope you are on the mend soon.
Ah vellum, I only tend to use it for wedding cards (it embosses nicely almost like lace) but I do like the look of what you are using it for...Will check back to see the finished article.

  19. Happy WOYWW - and hope that today you are not feeling too ill. The winter viruses are particularly horrible this year. Vellum - not sure I still have any of that. Ali x #29

  20. Hope you feel better soon, Julia. I'm also popping the paracetamol for a painful wisdom tooth! Always something, isn't there. Your parchment project looks very interesting - I love the effect of overlaying parchment and enhancing what lies underneath. Look forward to seeing what you come up with. Looking good so far!

    Happy WOYWW,

  30. here they call it the rhoom - and force feed you shoshon ( an alcoholic concoction distilled in a 600 year old unwashed vat) if you don't die that night you are allowed to seek medical help the next day (not for the rhoom - for the ethanol poisoning) for sure it kills all living beings including the virus bearing human carrier...get well soon, love that the old grey matter is producing pleasant sensations of creativity again...

  38. Sorry to hear this cold is hitting you too! I have had it about 2 weeks now and I am going to call the doctor today and see about getting an antibiotic to combat it. Don't leave yours this long...I thought I could fight it off but my immune system isn't what it used to be. Like the wine clock idea...looking forward to seeing it done. Vickie @49
