Well well, I have something to report! It's slow, painful and utterly predictable at this stage, but I was really enjoying it! Dark and cold here when I took this photo, late last night. I had to give up on it because I couldn't find a colour that worked for me. I will. I hate to abandon an idea, they're so rare!
Looks pretty tidy huh? Stuff was largely swept aside, but that's OK, I'll be inviting back as I get into it...it was all stuff I need, so it wont be too long. I'm using vellum (feels like I'm bringing back the 70's or something!) and have in mind to colour the reverse and layer it one or oother image over TH's clock die. Wine O'clock, see? Well, so far..... As I type this, I'm thinking I may have to go back to bed...I have the shivers and shakes and think I'm coming down with something. I may be a little light on visiting today, depends how effective the paracetomol are going to be! Do what you always do please, inspire, educate and enable, it wouldn't be the same without you!
sorry you're coming down with the lurgy too, I have it as well... glad you got posted before I have to go to work though. Wrap up warm and stay in bed.... love the idea you have though.. vellum.. a right throwback!! Happy WOYWW
ReplyDeleteHope you get into bed and be the best sick person you an be! I had shakes today, and it had more to do with the state of the world than my health! thank god(dess) for art! Art heals!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you Julia- Robyn 1
Hi Julia. Sorry you don't feel so good. Trust the paracetamol will do its stuff for you!! No, I agree, don't give up on the idea of Wine O'clock!! You'll get there.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Oh dear, hope you are not coming down with this cold that everyone seems to be getting. Take care dear Julia for it goes on the chest with most people. Plenty of fluids and rest are the order of the day/week. That image on vellum (looks nice) and the TH die will be waiting when you feel a bit better.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet 4 (I think - or maybe 5) xxx
Happy new year to you Julia I've missed Woyww due to technical problems. Not yet resolved but I've found a long winded way round them.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm and cosy today and be kind to yourself until you feel well again.

ReplyDeletePoor Julia, that doesn't sound good especially when I'm desperate to see what you're up to but will just have to be patient. Take care and happy woyww, Angela x 14
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you being really creative but not so good to hear you're feeling poorly. Let's hope the paracetamol do the trick and you bounce back quickly.

Hope a good night's sleep has helped you get back on track and finish that project! Nothing like a bit of Night Nurse to ensure a restful sleep when feeling poorly!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking desk, hope you will share how your ongoing project turns out, Julia

Hi Julia, sorry it sounds like you're getting this rotten bug thats going round. Treat yourself gently and keep snug! Vellum eh? I must have a few decades worth of the blasted stuff, in every colour and print imaginable. Finally learnt not to buy like it's going out of style. 'Cos it did. Hugs, to you and lots of love, Shaz xx#7
ReplyDeleteOoh as others have said it's a nasty bug doing the rounds so take care and hope you are on the mend soon.
ReplyDeleteAh vellum, I only tend to use it for wedding cards (it embosses nicely almost like lace) but I do like the look of what you are using it for...Will check back to see the finished article.

Happy WOYWW - and hope that today you are not feeling too ill. The winter viruses are particularly horrible this year. Vellum - not sure I still have any of that. Ali x #29
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, Julia. I'm also popping the paracetamol for a painful wisdom tooth! Always something, isn't there. Your parchment project looks very interesting - I love the effect of overlaying parchment and enhancing what lies underneath. Look forward to seeing what you come up with. Looking good so far!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,

ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling much better by the time you read this. Wine o'clock looks & sounds like an interesting stamp project. Vellum, yes I do have some stashed away - great idea ...
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. You'll be back to crafting in no time. I think there's a lot of that stuff going around right now. Take care of yourself!

ReplyDeleteMine is not a lot going on just some mail I opened and didn't touch after. ~Stacy #40
What a FUN idea! I do hope you're feeling better quickly so you can work on it some more!
ReplyDeleteVellum! I haven't used or bought vellum in ages. Good luck with your project!
ReplyDeletehere they call it the rhoom - and force feed you shoshon ( an alcoholic concoction distilled in a 600 year old unwashed vat) if you don't die that night you are allowed to seek medical help the next day (not for the rhoom - for the ethanol poisoning) for sure it kills all living beings including the virus bearing human carrier...get well soon, love that the old grey matter is producing pleasant sensations of creativity again...
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, quickly popping back to say I finally got the letter with a surgery date today! Tuesday 7th of Feb. So at last can get this over & done with. Shaz xxx
ReplyDeleteFeel better Julia - I've been sick since the holidays!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThe vellum looks interesting. But don't worry about it. Take it easy and look after yourself, specially in that cold weather!

Hi Julia, love the Wine o'clock idea! And I've seen some lovely stuff done with vellum just lately too - I have some printable vellum sheets I keep meaning to try out .... so many ideas so little time eh?! You take care of yourself, there are so many nasty lurgies about - paracetamol, fluids and rest is my prescription. Dr Annie C :o)xxx #21
ReplyDeleteLooks intriguing. I love a bit of vellum, but then I am a child of the seventies!
ReplyDeleteYou are so kind to still do a post for woyww even when you are not feeling 100%. Lovely to see crafty goodness on your desk this week.
ReplyDeletesandra de @22
Sorry to hear this cold is hitting you too! I have had it about 2 weeks now and I am going to call the doctor today and see about getting an antibiotic to combat it. Don't leave yours this long...I thought I could fight it off but my immune system isn't what it used to be. Like the wine clock idea...looking forward to seeing it done. Vickie @49
ReplyDeleteKeep safe & warm.
ReplyDeleteThe desk looks very tidy and I love that image.
Toni xx
Love that image with the wine. It looks so vintage. And as for vellum, I love using that stuff on my cards to soften up the look.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Michelle
