Such is the way our lives move, that my lovely Jan is soon going to find being the WOYWW host a bit of a tie, so despite her undying affection for you all, WOYWW hosting will return to this address next week. That's for and from number 372. You may think she's been an excellent host and absolutely great to have stepped in and kept us all going. I think the same, and a whole lot more. Indeed, the word 'rock' springs to mind, but that might just be brain and desk word association at it's most lame!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? 371
I am completely without the urge to be creative. I've been painting stones (as you can see) in an attempt to coax the 'ideas' and 'enthusiasm' sections of my brain to work together. Even the stones have been there for a few days, untouched. No idea what is planned for them at all! But I figure that playing at anything is better than doing nothing. Or worse, tidying up!

I am actually in the same spot as you, inspiration is hiding for me, despite you I did clean my desk in the hope that a crisp desk would ignite the spark back. Happy WOYWW and untill next time, Vicky
ReplyDeleteIt may just be slapping a little paint on some pebbles, but so what? If you're enjoying doing it, then that's all that matters. I'm reduced to showing my shelves today (oo0er, missus!) as there has been no sewing whatsoever this week.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is very happy that you'll be back in charge next week :-D. They've all missed you xx
Hugs LLJ xxx
PS I've linked you up at No 12
Looking forward to meeting you in the next weeks as a newbi you disappeared when I joined thought it must have been something I did! I have some beautiful painted stones done for me as a thank you from a friend who came to stay, one is even a flamenco lady apt as I live in Spain. They are great as door stops especially as we have very windy days.
ReplyDeleteJan has been doing a splendid job holding the fort while you have rpbe recovering .
ReplyDeleteWill be nice also to have you back at the helm as well .
Happy woyww .

Great looking desk this morning and I'm SURE your mojo will soon be inspired by it.
ReplyDeleteEntirely agree with you that Jan's been doing sterling work in your absence and my thanks to her also.
Great news that your recuperation is going along apace, to the point where you are taking the reins back ....... just don't overdo things!
All the best and Happy WOYWW

Looking forward to seeing you back at the helm next week, I'm so glad you are feeling well enough now. Keep painting the stones, the welcome one looks great - I bet that was one heavy bag you lugged back from the beach (or a neighbours rockery?)!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Diana #19 xx
I absolutely love your rocks there Julia, great colour combinations looks like a mini Ayers rock (or Uluru) on one of them! my sister walked around it last week!
ReplyDelete... and yes you are right Jan has been a real rock whether it is sounds lame or not, it is true :D love the idea o doing it with welcome on the rock too looks fab.. will be REALLY great to have you back next week :D

Hurrah the crown is being handed back. I agree Jan has done a great job and just as the baton of power is being handed over at No 10 today so does the damp and sticky paintbrush of smudgyness (that is a word honest!!).
ReplyDeleteLoving the painted pebbles, very colourful.
Kyla
As long as you don't get the urge to paint the "rock" called Jan all will be well. LOL
ReplyDeleteTake it easy Julia, Rome was not built in a day and I cannot believe you are feeling well enough to take the reins again never mind crafting. Little steps, baby steps and you will be there in full swing in next to no time.
In the meantime, get well, get some fresh air and good food and then you will be back to your old self before you know it. Just remember we all love you and want to see you recovered.
Hugs, Neet 10 xx
Jan has done a lovely job of carrying on while you had to step away. I'm so very happy you are feeling like you can step back in again. It will be lovely to have you back my friend!

I'm so glad you're feeling up to coming back, Julia! Your creative juices will start flowing again, you'll see! When I made a comeback last September, I just couldn't stop creating! Love the idea of painted stones! I've tried it once too - perhaps it's time to try again! Best wishes xx zsuzsa #30
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are feeling better and up to coming back to host woyww Julia! Painting rocks (or coloring mandalas, that's what I do when I am down and out and want to 'come back to creating something') sounds like a good thing to do... you can always use them as 'presse-papier' (paperweight.) Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #26
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, happy for you that you feel up to hosting WOYWW again. Our Jan has been marvellous, hasn't she?
ReplyDeleteYou could paint faces on them, or even get some of that florescent embossing powder(WOW), and stamp on them, then they'd glow at night! Huge hugs and lots of love to you, Shaz #6xxx
It looks like you are getting a head start on your Christmas gift list with those lovely rocks you started working on. I find that going on nature walks, reading, looking through my art books, visiting museums, and blog hopping can encourage my creativity, but sometimes just forcing yourself to play as you are, is a great starter too. Blessings, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI think Jan has definitely been a rock. She's wonderful. Glad you are feeling up for hosting again. You could doodle on the rocks or do faces. Have a happy Wednesday and a terrific week! Lisa DV #35
ReplyDeleteGlad your crafty mojo is coming back and happy that you are feeling well enough to take back hosting next week. We all appreciate Jan taking over as she has - she's been a great host - but glad you are coming back too!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week

You've had a major life changing illness.Be kind to yourself.Your creativity will come back. Painting rocks is very OK. Have a look on You tube for more rock painting!!You might go off in an entirely new direction.
ReplyDeleteI think your rocks are perfectly okay - any form of crafting is okay in my book.
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear that you are feeling up to taking back the reigns - Jan has been doing a wonderful job. However, she might need a little more time to concentrate on the house move (it is amazing how involved things become, hence my decision that I will not be moving again - if I can help it).
BIG (((hugs))) to you both.
Toni xx
So glad you are doing better and even "trying" to create. Your creativity/mojo will come back, I have no doubt! Just give it time! Hugs from Arizona in the U.S.

Julia, I'm so glad your getting better and ready to take over. I'm sure your urge to create will be coming back soon as well. In the meantime...I think your rocks look great. Have a great week.

Julia, so lovely that you are on the up and up and hopping back into the saddle! I'm sure you rather needed and enjoyed the time to mend in spite of your creative recess! It's like a bicycle isn't it? You will be there in no time! Just so, so happy you are healing! Love the rocks, what a cute idea! :) Look forward to stopping in on you for #372!!! Blessings, Felicia #41
ReplyDeletewe all go through phases of lack inspiration - think you can be more entitled to most of us! I agree, Jan has been fabulous taking the reins in your enforced absence and I have told her so! Great that you will be able to resume next week. Take care. Helen
ReplyDeleteI love the rock with Welcome on it.
ReplyDeleteJan has been a real star, but it is nice to know you will be back next week.
Hope your mojo kicks in soon. Sue
Is it wrong to say your ROCKING your art ? the stones look great I've seen little scenes and flowers painted on them for dark corners of a garden like how you made the welcome one so bright and cheerful. Glad to see your starting to feel like yourself again
ReplyDeletehugs Nikki 3
YEAAAH Julia...You are doing so well! The stones are amazing... I have always had an affinity for rocks and stones and usually have a pocket full after any walking I do. I love the idea of painting them... and what a fabulous idea to use this to get those creative juices flowing... happy DAAAY Dear one - I am looking forward to next week = Smile. ReplyDeleteThe stones look really interesting and I'm sure in time you will feel in the mood to do more with them. Look forward to seeing you back in the saddle next week. Happy crafty woyww, Angela x 23
ReplyDeleteYour Welcome rock is to pretty.
ReplyDeleteI haven't lost my mojo, it is just that summer is finally here and very short here where I live, so I haven't been paper crafting much at all.
I don't see Mr. Linky :(
Hi Julia back at it I see So good to see you are recuperating It always seems hard to me after I've taken a break to get back to feeling creative. Hope things continue to improve Peg 43
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you are feeling well enough to paint rocks and be our hostess again. I look forward to next week. #48
ReplyDeleteHello Julia,
ReplyDeleteYou have done more than me! I've hidden all my crafty goodness in order to show my house to a potential buyer. I've been thinking about you a lot and am glad to see you are painting rocks! Maybe you were thinking of yourself - strong and amazing. Every rock is different and has it's own beauty. Can't wait to see what you do with these!
Hugs,
Kay
glad to hear you are feeling better and up to taking over WOYWW again! I am still not 100% after my ailments. Someday! I have a bunch of rocks and shells that I keep saying I am going to get out and paint…someday! Have a great week. Vickie#46
ReplyDeleteYou may have lost a bit of your creativity, and yes, it may have to be coaxed back as new neural pathways form and develop, but one thing is certain. Your humor needs no coaxing or kick starting. Whether you realize it or not, you are so funny without even thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteI actually came to tell you I received your lovely card and ATC today. Not sure why it took so long to get here (about 5 weeks), but I'm going to appreciate it even more based on how hard it was to create it in the first place. Thank you, thank you, thank you beyond belief.
welcome back, Jan has been awesome. I go through periods as well when I can't get the creativity flowing, after what you have been through its not a surprise. It will come....hugs, donna #16
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you posting. Creativity will come, just allow your brain and body time to recover. Sending lots of speedy healing hugs Cara x
ReplyDeleteJan's been awesome but it's super great news to hear you are returning!!! God bless you!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Diane - WOYWW #18
Hello Julia. So glad your back and feeling so much better. I love the blue flowers on your one rock and I do love the colours you have chosen for the others. I know at times I have started a project and just as I am about half way though I just can't wrap my head around it. Wish at times for more hours and free time to create but it never seems to work out all the time. Yes it was so great of lady Jan to keep us all meeting on Wednesday while you were recovering she is honestly is kindred spirit. Well hope your rocks turn out will look so beautiful and great in a garden or pot. Have a wonderful day hugs~Anne L#1
ReplyDeleteHopelessly late at desk hopping this week - it will be Wednesday again if I don't get a move on!! I love painting pebbles - often used to do one for each child in my class as end of term gift! x Jo
ReplyDeleteThose are some funky colored rocks you got there, ma'am. They look quite fun to play with. I haven't joined with WOYWW much while LLJ was at the helm. It's not her, it's me. I'm calendar impaired!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the photo of your desk before I read your words, I thought 'Wow! There's a creative space!''. Hoping you feel its energy inside too very soon.
ReplyDeleteFab to see you joining us! yes, Jan has done a lovely job hosting in your absence, but no one can fill your creative shoes. Pretty rocks. Things will take time and playing at something is a step in the right direction... one stepping stone at a time. ;-) Creative Blessings! Kelly #33
