Be upstanding, ladies and jellyspoons, my desk is involved with crafting again!
And therefore back to it's normal state. What a relief! In between these horrid bouts of lethargy, I've made three cards! I think I've also settled on my ATCs for the anniversary, but I haven't yet tried to put my idea on card, so it definitely remains to be seen! My desk is post preparation for a workshop - you can see empty stamp packets and the A5 trimmer is a give away; cutting mounts and bits of card for labels and things is so much easier in the sunshine. Well, it was sunny....now it's very late Tuesday and I've decided to schedule this. My iPad deckchair is showing remnant cards that I've abandoned; I will go back to them or cut them up or something, they aren't wasted. They just didn't match what was in my head. Again.
Just behind the cutter are two small dies that I picked up for £1 - would have been rude not to, huh. They are waiting to be put away and have been on my desk for about a week. I will not learn!
Share your workspaces will ya? Much more inspiring surfaces they are, and we all need to see 'em!
Put WOYWW in your post title and link here. Nothing to it.
I was admiring the cream card with the flowers, hope you find something that matches what's in your head soon (my cards never match my vision either!) as it is lovely. Not given the atcs a thought yet, I fear I won't be making loads this year; maybe just "the one" lol. Great to see you crafting though, and it must also mean you've finished the tax returns, yay!! Helen xx
ReplyDeleteYep i've done my ATCs already-in my head- hahahaha. THe longer I stay home the more lethargic i get and everything goes int he procrastination basket
ReplyDeleteBridget #2
Well done in ploughing through the tax returns that is a hell of a job. With you on the £1 dies too much of a bargain, it would be rude not too.
ReplyDeleteKyla #7
Oh Julia, there must be something in the air or indeed the sunshine as I have been right there with you crafting this week. Ok so it was mainly last night and especially spurred on by wanting something to show today but I made my first journal page in simply ages. Long may it continue as I was listening to Christian radio at the time and there was a piece about us being creative creatures as we were made in the likeness of God and the first thing we hear he did was create the world and us! BJ#4
ReplyDeleteHello Julia, it would indeed have been rude not to buy those dies. Great you're back crafting.
ReplyDeleteOh the £1 dies where did you get them and can we have a better view please! I'm a die fan, can you tell? BJ#4
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you've had a little time to play and I haven't even started my ATCS I have to get cracking on those hugs Nikki 3
ReplyDeleteI'm in the process of getting my atc's made Julia for the up coming swap. I like to start early on swaps in case anything else gets in the way of stopping me .
ReplyDeleteIt's really good to see you crafting....keep up the good work :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
Lovely to see that your desk has gone from tax weary to creative array. I have to admit to liking the stamped cream card in the background and who can ever pass up a bargain. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeletesandra de @11
Yay, glad you've been playing again! Good to see you yesterday...did you get the grass cut?
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ 15 xx
Hip Hip Hooray...back crafting. Love the big flowers on the card, reminds me of a coloring page. Love those great sale items too. Have fun with the dies.
ReplyDeleteATC's are in my head just don't know how many to make as yet. And May is almost here. I don't know what it is with TIME flying by but it sure does.
Have a lovely week and hope it's full of sunshine for you.
Oh dear the linking via my tablet went horribly wrong!! So sorry, thought I managed it via my tablet last week but I certainly couldn't rectify it properly with it so HAD to get up and sort via the main PC. If you could delete entries #4 and #16 that would be appreciated although it will knock everyone's numbers back by a few. Sorry, I just got too excited to be playing so early on! BJ was #4 then #16 now #17 which will end up being #15. Aarrhh
ReplyDeleteYes, there's def something in the air! I'm glad you caught it!
ReplyDeleteThose little dies are great. Don't you you just love bargain bins!
I hope you get to realize you ATC ideas. I have (as you will see) tried out some ideas. Some work and some don't. It's my first attempt. I'd love to participate this anniversary.
Wishing you a good week with lots of positiveness,
Happy WOYWW,
Lisca #19
one day at a time eh Julia. Hope you are okay..
ReplyDeletei painted a flower on my workroom wall yesterday like the ones on your card and a red plant pot. You can see it on my posting.
Among all your stamps have you one that is a simple wooden chair ? I'm after one.
Take care and have a good week
Lynn xx 20
Hi Julia, Glad you have managed to get some crafting done. Your desk sure shows the activity:)

Morning Julia, I do hope that lovely cream and black flowery paper is not going to be ditched, it is beautiful. Well done for getting some crafting done, hope you continue to have the energy and time to lots more.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day
Chris #22
I'm glad to see you've felt well enough to get a little bit of crafting done - it's a good way of dealing with stress. Lovely cream floral card there I spy.
ReplyDeleteBernice #23
Lovely to see all the crafting activity Julia.
ReplyDeleteToni xx
I'm glad to be back again Julia. So pleased you felt like doing some crafting. What a bargain couple of dies you got there and I like the little
ReplyDeletehedgie behind your glasses. I see it's your Blogaversary coming up but not sure what I have to do about the celebration ATCs. Barbxx
Hi Julia, pleased to see you all tax-done and back to the crafting. I think you deserve time at your desk now after all that. Happy woyww, Angela x 25
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, what's the grey plastic box shaped thing in the foreground? Looks interesting
ReplyDeleteJill #27
Lovely to see you all crafty again! I love the card on the holder and I also love the 'dress on a hanger' stamp, I have that one too and it's such a useful 'go to' one.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week,
Diana x #28
Good to hear you are crafting and even prepping for a workshop - and anything is easier when the sun is shining!! Hapy WOYWW, Cindy xx
ReplyDeleteLadies and jellyspoons! That made me smile! :) Glad you've found the energy to do some crafting, Julia. You sound more upbeat as well! Hope you can put all this behind you quite soon!
ReplyDeleteBouts of lethargy aside it is good to see your desk looking normal. Chuckled at your greeting because it reminded me of my dad who used to say ladles and jellyspoons :) The cream card with the flowers on looks as though it has lots of potential so hopefully it won't remain abandoned for too long. I'd find it hard to resist those dies too. Hope you have a good week. Take care. Hugs, Elizabeth x #31
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW morning. It is great to be doing some crafting again, although I managed to not take any photos to show the cards I made! Seeing your bargain dies reminds me that our local craft shop often has smaller/older dies reduced - must get hubby to drive me into town to have a mooch. They would fit my little Sapphire. It is sunny in Pembrokeshire too - does help to lift the mood a bit, but only a bit. I am so grouchy and teary today. Ali x #33 (there is that number 3 again - associated with creativity in numerology)
ReplyDeleteLove that there's crafting on the go! Glad you are enjoying crafting between bouts. I hope, like me, you find crafting a good way to escape what you are feeling. Thinking of you lovely lady! Take care Zo xx
ReplyDeleteSoooo nice to see a crafty desk again Julia, (hope and pray you're soon given a date)..had to smile at your waiting to be put away things.. mine are now some part put away but still some to go, mostly cos think will use on next item.. I really love the floral background on the deckchair can see great possibilities with it.. commiseration on how things are different in head to card.. have that issue too!
ReplyDeleteMaybe AWOL for two weeks from WOYWW - very full fortnight.
Thanks so much for sharing.
Happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz.x # 34

Hi Julia, I'm actually liking the card on your deckchair- I love the Black on Cream, very graphic.Too right, dies at a quid each are not to be passed up. Hope you are feeling ok, love and big hugs to you both, Shaz xxxx
ReplyDeleteYay! Yay to crafting. Glad to hear you're feeling well enough to make schtuff. :-) I hope you continue to feel up to it.
ReplyDeleteApril
It is marvelous to hear that you are back to your normal crafty self, my friend. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteGlad you have been able to have a little creative time. The stamped image on the "deckchair" is very pretty, hope you can do something with it :)
ReplyDeleteRosA # 42
You are so right, it really would have been rude to pass by those for that price! It's so nice to have such a creative AND civilized hostess! ;)

Glad to hear you're back doing some crafting. Wow that was a good buy on the dies - couldn't leave those behind! I see your glasses are on your desk. Mine usually have a place on my desk while I'm crafting. I can see way better without them even though I'm supposed to be able to see in them lol. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteSharon K #49
Hey Miss Julia!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see activity on your desk. I haven't had a thought to my ATCs yet. Guess I should be thinking, eh? Hugs and Creative Blessings! Kelly #43
FAB work desk .. I have that dress on a hanger stamp too!

So glad you are crafting - it's a good stress buster! I love the flowery page - is it a stamp? x Jo
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you back to crafting! It looks like you've been in the craft zone : D. I have an idea for the anniversary swap as well. Are there particular dimensions that should be followed? Anyway... Apparently I'm inept at linking. The first one I can chalk up to being distracted and not doubled checking I had indeed posted my own link, the second two however, are a bafflement as the page does exist, but not in that link. Shaz found me though :D.
ReplyDeleteYes, it would have been rude not to buy those dies! Glad to see you have been crafting. I will have to check out the information about the ATC for the anniversary. I did participate two years, but not last year. But thinking I would like to this time.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Wednesday! #54
What did I miss? I haven't posted since December and I am certainly not up to date. It is a funny feeling coming in after such a long time, like coming home...
ReplyDeleteHugs
Gabriele 53
nods head, yep it would have been totally rude to not give those dies a home...
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see you felt like playing. :)
~Stacy #56
I've been away for a few weeks, and i'm glad to be back! Spring is spring here in southern Ontario, and spirits are up. Glad to see you able to get some crafting done! I need to plop myself down and get some done myself. Maybe I will join the ATC swap this year if I get on the ball!
ReplyDeleteLindart #57
Thank you for continuing to host this Julia! I love to see what everyone is working on!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that your desk is returned to its more enjoyable purpose and that you've had some energy and time to play a bit. I agree -- would have been downright rude not to pick up the dies at that bit of a price. I'm not WOYWWing this week -- have a bit of a cold or allergies and am heading out of town at the weekend, so . . . Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteJoining in for the first time in a long time. Glad you are still doing this. Jx
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see you have crafty things on your desk again!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Hugs,
Michelle
Good to be crafty again! Also good that you recycle or re-vamp your "not quite right" cards; mine go in a drawer...with the best intentions...
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
-K #64
so glad to see you this week. even if only for a couple of projects, art is the best, right after a tea break with chocolate biscuits...
ReplyDeleteDropping in late today as I've been out all day enjoying my birthday in this fine sunshine. Glad to hear you've found some crafting time and mojo! Happy crafting, Max #68 :-)
ReplyDeleteWell Julia, you have achieved more than me in the week. Four birthday cards are outstanding and still I have not made a start. Need to do some more birdie cards too. Ah well, at least I have thrown some things out - at last! Not enough to make a difference though and I need to get the box out of the house so I don't delve in it and put things back. Woe is me. I am a hoarder!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet xx
Well.... yes, it would have been rude to not purchase those dies. Great things on your desk to motivate and inspire you. It's all looking good. PJ #61
ReplyDeleteI'm finally back! I did a few of these before, but I had to revamp my website again. So now that I've done that (or at least a bit of it), I can now join in again! Looking forward to seeing what everyone is up to!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see your lethar eased up on you a bit, Julia, so you could have some crafting therapy! A bit of spring sunshine works a treat, too! Do you have alum who come back to WOYWW just for ATC anniversaries? People prolly hate on them for doing that, tho, huh? I get that. I'm always there in spirit!! Big hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment, Julia. Some of my acrylics are OK but the yellow is definitely a translucent paint. Diana Taylor suggested mixing it with a little titanium white to opaque it up a bit, which might be worth a try - today I experimented a bit with my Dylusions paints which are more opaque. Part of the problem is my brushes which are not the right size so I'm ordering some more off Ebay. I'll get there in the end! I'd prefer to use acrylics rather than enamels as the cleanup is so much easier. The pictures are a bit deceptive because they show two or more coats of the yellow, which rather destroys the lovely sponteneity and flow of the single brush-stroke that characterises this style of painting. Nice to know you've done some narrow boat painting too! I'd love to see it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good week.
Shoshi
Julia, have you made a page about the ATC swap? You mentioned it last week but I can't find it.
ReplyDeleteChris #22
Glad to her that your playing again on your desk and love the card in the background with all the flowers on it. Love that it is finally back to sun here but weekend forecast is calling for rain which I don't mind as we so need it to control the forest fire that are in northern Alberta and British Columbia. Those little dies are adorable too. Hugs~Anne L #12
ReplyDeleteLove your desk! Hope that mine looks like that soon - have to catchup craftwise!
ReplyDeleteTake care and have a good week
Christine
Bishopsmate #30
So glad you have more energy. What a busy, crative desk! All the best with the ATCs.
ReplyDeleteI've been having trouble with my cards too. Spent far too much time fiddling with "possible" stamps and "maybe" paper choices, but far too little time actually making any cards. Only three to show for about two hours work... blah! I'm definitely out of practice.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're not too well just now. I do hope they can find out what is causing your problem and help you get back on your feet. Meanwhile, keep you chin up - we'll all be thinking of you. X
Sorry my post is so very late this week. I am out of blogging practice too!
