I made up a very quick page for April. The rule is to use 12 x 12 that is no longer 'floating my boat' and to try and use up letters and stickers from old kits that I wouldn't otherwise use. It's working..but makes for a plain calendar! You can see at top left that I've been playing with new stamps too. I cant get enough flowers apparently. As if I don't have a few already! I'll show them in greater detail when I've decided or not about workshop suitability. Only 2 pairs of scissors that you can see, I must be improving - although I seem to be making up for the lack of them with acrylic blocks! You also get good view of today's top - at last it's not today's boobs!
Join us if you can - take a picture of your workspace, blog about it with WOYWW in your title and then link your blog here. That will lead to visits. The rule is to reciprocate when you can. See ya.
you can't have too many flower stamps I always say (as I buy yet another set) liking the look of the daisy with the big yellow.. centre (honestly, what did you think I was going to say!) have a good day. Helen xx
ReplyDeleteI lovely the card with the daisy on Julia & look forward to seeing your finished scrapbook layout.

Hi Julia An interesting desk today with some lovely makes. I do like your flower cards. Of all the stamps I've got I don't have many flower ones and have got my eye on some new ones from Paper Artsy so I'd better start saving!
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy week
Lynda B
Flowers to colour I have no problems with flowers I add to a card always stump me that fantastic on using up odds and ends from things you normally wouldn't use hugs Nikki 2
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I love the flowers. The large daisy is great and the unusual 'sunburst' flower is beautiful. Well done you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea to make a calender. Remember to write stuff on it. Later when you are better you can look back on this period. (I made a special photo book of the year that I was ill)
Happy WOYWW and have a good week,
LIsca
maybe a simple lay-out, but you are using your calendar, I made one last year and intended to use it this year but it still hasn't hung up and thus still not in use.
ReplyDeleteLove the flower card and the calendar LO is a great idea for using up those PPs that we wonder "why did I buy that!" about.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week.
Toni xx
Didn't that coneflower stamp come out a treat? I bet you'll use that over and over, it's a fab image.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you were showing your boobs, it would be a VERY different blog 😊
Hugs, LLJ 12 xxx
It's good to see you've been having creative fun. I love that flower card and the pretty top you're wearing.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
OK... make me feel bad that I just print the calendar bit out and put it on the fridge with magnets... no background paper, no stamps... nuffink. I will try harder... and I love the cards! The one with all the colour burst effect and pearls in the centre for stamen is wonderful... you can never have enough flowers!
ReplyDeleteInteresting desk this morning, loving the coneflower

I'm not really a stamper but funny enough I did use one this week in an experiment.
ReplyDeleteThe one on your desk today is going to be like an eye worm today for me and I know I will end up doodling it at some point haha.
Lynn xx
Happy WOYWW. Fab aerial shot this week. Very arty. Are you on Instagram? Loving the daisy card; really caught my eye. Ali x #18
ReplyDeleteMorning, love the daisy card, beautiful colouring.
ReplyDeleteChris #19
Love that daisy - is it a stamp? Can see lots of uses for that image!
ReplyDeleteWell, scissors or acrylic blocks? I have put my acrylic blocks away in favour of my new Misti but must admit I brought a smallish one out for something I was doing. As for scissors, I cannot find my favourite ones - now where an they have gone perhaps with my pokey tool which has been missing this past month or so.
Hugs, Neet 11 xx
Love the idea of making your calendar pages! It looks like you already have a few dates marked up. The good thing about that is that it works both ways: both as a future reminder but also as a memory when you look back. I find that very inspiring! If only I had more time!
ReplyDeleteAnother Wednesday is here and I'm so happy to see that lovely creativity of yours!
ReplyDeleteI always feel great after using up old supplies ( means you can buy more new ones!) . Love that stamp and it might be on my wish list - is it Chocolate Baroque ? They have some yummy new flower stamps out right now. Have a great week . Soojay 21 ( ha ha - I wish) xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia. Is it possible for a girl to have too many flowers? Naw - don't think so! Gorgeous card there with the daisy on.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.
Margaret
It great start to your calendar...keep going it'll come together in the end. Elaine # 14
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, got to be quick today as I'm off walking with friends for a couple of hours but will be back later to see what everyone's up to. Love the cards and very impressed with you using up old stuff, I need to do the same when I get my head round it. Happy woyww, Angela x 25
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, Looking forward to seeing the rest of the calendar.
ReplyDeleteSorry I am not taking part in this weeks WOYWW, but real life is just too hectic at the moment.
You take care
Sue
I can't work out how you are surviving with just two pairs of scissors!! :D
ReplyDeleteHappy Desk day!

Good to see you inking and sticking. Can you actually have too many flower stamps? I love the look of that daisy, think that would have caught my eye as well. Sorry I've not been about much, but I think about you lots. Hugs, albeit virtual, are on their way regularly. Cindy xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very good week!
Sussie
You know how I feel about flowers and yours are lovely this morning. I'm glad you are getting to play a little bit and can't wait to see your scrapbook page. I'm a terrible scrapbooker and never was very good at it so I just drool over everyone elses layouts! Have a great rest of the week! Glenda #30
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI think your Calendar idea is great, using up materials that you know you wont use is a brilliant plan - I should do this. Clears space but you are getting something out of it too.
I hope you are doing ok, you've been in my thoughts. Lyns #31 xx
Cheers! Great way to use up old papers ! And amazing how fast those tiny little spaces turn into Big Events. Loving the flower stamps, especially the black border one. Have a fun week.
ReplyDeleteHope you're keeping well Julia. Loving the flower stamp, I might ahem, need that one now! I'm impressed that you're doing the calendar pages, plain or otherwise. Happy Wednesday! Cara x
ReplyDeleteI have way too many flower stamps and am always buying more. Can't have too many! I hope you are doing well. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteFlowers are always great - especially daisies! I love yours :) Evelyn # 35
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, how are you feeling? I love both the cards- I think it's the 'wordy' backgrounds that get me every time, lol. That sounds like a challenge to get you stash busting. Well done you, I think I'd give up after a few minutes! Too much stuff past it's sell by date, and not enough enthusiasm to work with it. Have a lovely week, big hugs and lots of love, Shaz xx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI love that big flower stamp showing the flower centre and stamens - it looks great with all those beads/Perfect Pearls(?) drops on them - lovely! I agree about loving flower stamps - they are hard to resist aren't they.
Hope you have a good week,
Diana #24 xx
The coneflower is lovely - is that a stamp too? Just chuckling at Jan's comment cos I nearly put "bits and boobs" on my today's blog! Enjoy the sunshine if you have it - it's a glorious day here. x Jo
ReplyDeleteYour calendar seems to be coming alive little by little. I also like that card with the big white daisy. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteLoving the daisy flower. I've just signed up for a colouring class from Kit and Clowder that has all sorts of flowers and nature to learn to colour. I chuckled about the boob comment. I always have to make sure I don't get mine in the way!! Take care Zo xx
ReplyDeleteGood to see you here, Julia! I love the daisy. Daisies are my favourite flowers. I have great memories of picking them in the park and making Buttercup and Daisy chains - not that I was much good at making them lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good way to use up those 12 x 12 papers. I realise that I have way too many of them. I can't even imagine why I bought some of them lol.
Have a great week
Sharon K #42
Good morning, Miss Julia. Lovely to see you playing. They say when you eliminate one habit you replace it with another. That must be the scissors/ acrylic block thing you have going. never too many flowers - especially when spring seems to be dragging feet about staying around here. Creative Blessings! Kelly #44
ReplyDeleteA great daisy card. Glad you feel up to a little bit of crafting. Thanks for visiting earlier,
ReplyDeleteBernice
I like your Julia, Julia. Using up paper that seemed a "good idea at the time" is hard but we all have stacks of it!!! You have some very pretty cards on your desk too, I like the look of the splodgy one!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood to be back amongst you.
Hugs Lisax #48
I spurred Cindy last week and she me this week - horrah. BJ#49
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, and apologies! Most weeks I wade into commenting with gusto and then realise that the very person I should have greeted first, that's you, I've forgotten! So bad of me. Good to see that I'm not the only one that imposes rules - it's the only way to ensure we use up that old stash :) Wishing you a happy crafty week. Elizabeth x #46
ReplyDeleteGreat to see what's on your work desk this Wednesday Julia & I love the daisy card :o)
ReplyDeleteIt's my first time joining in & I'm looking forward to checking out all the other work desks :o)
Hugs

Hey Julia, I love acrylic blocks..that is all I saw on your table. I have way too many and cannot resist them. Nice to use up things to make a quick page. I use things that don't make the grade in my planner :) Cx #50
ReplyDeleteI really like the card on the far right with beads (?) on it. More faffing than I'm prepared to do, but love the effect.
ReplyDeleteA neat idea to use up paper that doesn't float your boat. I like the flower stamps you have out and about. I am, as always, in search of the perfect flower stamp.... I've tried many. The secret is to have a large variety so it looks like you are doing well with that. PJ #54
ReplyDeleteLove that little daisy but You had me at flowers. Yes I am a sucker. Pretty blue top. Well off to visit others. Peg %^
ReplyDeletelots of lovely desks
ReplyDeleteooh I love the cards I see off to the right that dood-ly cone flower is very cool with the text to POP on and the texture of the other bloom looks very interesting in the center ( no number yet, still at work and have not made it upstairs) ~Stacy
ReplyDeleteJulia, I am so late today, even for USA time! But, I have a few minutes and really wanted to visit. I love your rules for getting this stuff upcycled and used! You go girl. I think lately there's a huge trend going on with crafters who have been a little too craft-shop-happy and end up with things they will never use or look at again. It happens to all of us, and we need solutions like this! Hope you are feeling well today. Hugs. Sandy Leigh
ReplyDeleteI so hate it when those boobs get in the way! LOL! Love the flower card...and I need to join your "no longer floating your boat" bandwagon...or at the very least, start using up the scraps, etc. I is getting out of hand! Have a great week.
ReplyDelete-K #63
I just LOVE all the flowers. Flowers are happy which make me happy. I hope you are feeling okay.
ReplyDeleteApril
Oh, my goodness, didn't realize I hadn't been here for a month! Probably no one will remember me! LOL I like your new stamps you are playing with, especially that big flower. Sending hugs!
ReplyDeleteMy most favorite stamps are flower stamps. I have a hydrangea from Hero Arts that is so versatile -- works for generic cards, birthday cards, sympathy cards. Hurrah for flowers! Hugs and happy WOYWW (a day late). ~ Laura #62
ReplyDeleteI really LOVE that flower-card with the text/lettering on the background. It makes me smile and think of Summer (and so is your top!) I hope your day/weekend will be as sunny as ours - Spring arrived in Holland, yay! Hug, Marit #33
ReplyDeleteI am all new to this blogging lark so not sure if I am doing this correctly, plus I have a cat sat between me and my keyboard!
ReplyDeleteLove the daisy! I've never managed a calendar page yet, but I haven't given up thinking about them lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all who have visited my blog.
