First...thank you so much for your kind messages; I feel truly supported and also let's hear it for Jan. When the time comes, she'll be the temporary home for WOYWW. Even if I don't feel like blogging, I do want WOYWW to continue without a break!
So, to the business of the day. My desk looks like this:
It looks as though I haven't done anything, but in reality it's just sorted ready for the next session. Which really ought to be today; I have a tranche of birthdays beginning on the 18th! My trusty notebook where I've written the 'how to's' for a bunch of workshop cards. There's a packet of square purple cards that I had to use with the new papers in the packet underneath. I've done some paper piecing with them already. I have photographed what I've done, but you cant see 'em until the workshop is over, fair's fair! You can also see a roll of double sided tape at the basket edge there..it's glazing tape that made it's way home. Can't imagine why. All the paper you see is waste from the printer; I use it to protect my glass mat (ha! - not the table!). My deckchair iPad stand is empty because I was using it to take the photo. Show and tell then - we love to see where you work and what you're up to. You know the drill......put WOYWW in your post title and link here!
Morning Julia, great to see a tidy desk. Isn't it funny how we work differently - I can't use a hard (like your glass mat) surface I don't find I get good results.. and yet your cards are always gorgeous so it obviously works for you.. like the look of that tape, can SO see why it found it's way home!
ReplyDeleteWell your desk is fairly empty and I suppose it's explained by your last post. Hope you have a better week, what's left of it! happy WOYWW! patsy
ReplyDeleteHi Julia... well, first thing I noticed was the empty deckchair there!
ReplyDelete.. and imagining myself lying in it while I watched you craft.. well meybbe kinda stretch, but hey one can dream..
I had a chuckle at glaziers tape too, my kind of absentmindedness.
... an you're daily in my prayers .. all who are concerned in this matter are .. near and dear particularly..and three loud cheers for LLJ too! already visited here this morning when wasn't sure if I was to post or no?!
Happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz.x # 5

Crikey I'm early at number 6.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to use one of the words from your page today "tranche". It's not in my vocabulary but it will be now haha. Thanks for educating me Julia.
Be kind to yourself
Lynn xx 6
Hey, I'm early!Number 6!
ReplyDeleteA nice tidy dek Julia, and none of your dreaded ta return!
I noticed the empty deck chair (I covet that!)
Have a good week,
I'm thinking of you, all the best,
LIsca
Hi Julia I'm so sorry to hear that you are not well at the moment. I echo everything that has already been said. We are all here for you and can send our love and support via this wonderful place that you have set up! Good luck with making all your cards! Funny how some months there are loads and others none.
ReplyDeleteSending you hugs

Purple cards, eh? Funky! Thanks for the Mr Linky workshop yesterday, it didn't seem too complicated 😃
ReplyDeleteHave a good day in your workshop, lovely gal,
Hugs, LLJ 11 xx
Morning! Well your desk is a lot tidier this week (just as a bomb has hit mine for the first time!)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the next tranche of cards.
Enjoy your week.
Sharon xx
Morning Julia, sorry to hear your not at your best right now . Take each day as it comes with plenty of rest when you can. From Jill x
ReplyDeleteYour tidy desk certainly looks ready for a crafting session.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week.
Toni xx
Ah lovely desk and some crafting going on!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I'm sure your lovely tidy desk won't stay that way for long:)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely week. Sue
Morning Julia, what a nice business like desk you have there and all those work shop materials. I do hope we don't have to wait too see what you do with the purple card.
ReplyDeletebless you.

Morning Julia. Oh what a lovely neat desk - mine is appalling at the mo!! Oh well, can't do everything.
ReplyDeleteTake care my friend. You are in our prayers.
God bless.

Hi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I managed to miss your post, but I did. I'm truly sorry to hear that you are unwell. Don't ever feel as though you are alone though, we are a sharing bunch after all. Do not be afraid either to take a break, as you know I've taken a break from blogging myself before, your blog will not suffer. It will just take a back seat for a little while, one less stress can never be a bad thing.
I look forward to seeing your creations - I need to update my 'to make' list too. My sister gave me a nudge by saying 'so who's birthday is next?' Incidentally - it's hers!
Take Care of yourself, self care is the first point of call. Hugs, Lyns xx #17
Who is a little late this morning, me! Dopey forgot to put a time on her scheduled post which was done at almost midnight so wasn't due to post until almost midnight tonight.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you, wasn't sure how long you would make it with those terrible symptoms you are experiencing but rest assured, when the time comes for you to be taking a rest we will still be out there supporting LLJ in nyour absence.
Special (gentle) hugs
Neet (was it about 16) xxx
enjoy the crafting that you've planned for today.
ReplyDeleteIt just seems odd to see your desk so clean. Mine looks the same as I have finished one round of projects and haven't started anything else. I've been going from one window to the back door watching the progress on my new deck! It is exciting for me to see all the activity going on outside my door! Happy WOYWW! Glenda #21
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I knew there was something not quite right last week. We were away in France so one hour in front and when I went to link with you on the Wednesday you weren't there till later. Now even when we are an hour in front you are always a much earlier riser than me (since I retired I am lazy Lol!)I am thinking about you but I know all will be well. I learned from my mother who had a cancer about 10 years ago that you must be positive. She always believed she would get better and she did and is now 87. I hope things move along soon for you and in the mean time get plenty of rest. Have a lovely woyww and happy crafting when you feel in the mood, Angela x 22
ReplyDeleteLooks like a desk ready for action! Enjoy your crafty activities - it's the bestest place to chill. x Jo
ReplyDeleteAs Jo says it's good to see you getting crafty therapy....where would we be without crafting? Keep up the good work....have fun.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
Love a tidy desk ! Hope it doesn't stay like that for too long.
ReplyDeleteI have to ask - what is glazing tape?
Look forward to seeing the finished purple cards.
Take care and have a good week

You are looking beautifully organised this morning! Hope the workshop goes well -
ReplyDeletelove Diana x
It will be fun to see your cards when they are ready.
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting with patchwork-technique with papers.
Happy WOYWW to you!
Sussie, nr 28
Blogged and only just remembered to link up!!!! Your desk looks tidy. I keep toying with the idea of a glass cutting mat but not sure if my knife would skid knowing what my hands are like (and my patience!).
ReplyDeleteKyla
So sorry to hear about this, Julia. I don't blame you for wanting to put blogging on the back burner until you get better. That's gotta be your number one priority right now. Double vision can't be much fun. Still, it's comforting to know it's benign and they can put it right. May is just around the corner, so you won't have to wait long. LLJ will be a fabulous hostess! Thank you for thinking of us even during all this upheaval! Best wishes on your road to recovery.
ReplyDeleteAmazing you are able to do anything at the moment, Julia, given your news. When I was so unsettled last year my creative mojo fled, and despite people's best advice to do something as it would be therapeutic, I simply couldn't! Thinking of you and wishing you all the best, and hope the wait is not too long till something is done to help you. Well done to Jan, too, for taking over the driving seat for the duration!
ReplyDeleteShoshi
It's hard to be creative when you have so much going on. I hope you can escape and get lost in your crafting for a little while. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, smiled at you protecting your glass mat! I am protecting mine by having it on another worksurface, lol. I actually uncovered it a couple of months ago, I completely forgot I had it. How bad is that? Love and mahoosive hugs to you, Shaz xxxx
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Julia. Sorry to hear that you are under the weather and hope you are feeling better soon. Your desk always inspires me so and I have never heard of glazing tape, what is it? I love your I pad chair and have a fantastic Wednesday. Hugs ~ Anne L
ReplyDeleteI love the "tidy desk waiting for the next project" look.......it's just as interesting as when it's mid-project. tidy desk means I concentrate more on people's storage ideas and what goodies they keep around them :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you're not feeling too bad today
Happy WOYWW

Just kind of in shock from your previous post. But as your outside window shows a little gloom, the grass will turn green the sun will come out and you will be enlightened. Do ALL the things you enjoy to keep a positive mind. I was thinking of May and ATC exchanges, but that seems unimportant at the moment. It's time to do for YOU, rest and keep the mind full of fun things to keep you on the bright side. Hugs, prayers and Very b|Best Wishes.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Julia. I'm looking out my window at the foggy morning, but I half forget it's March and there should be snow on the ground. Purple is my favorite color, so I can't wait to see what your cards look like. Happy WOYWW from Laura #42
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, your tidy desk reminds me of what mine has looked like for the last few weeks. Love the purple cards - love that colour. Hope you have a great week. Take care. Hugs, Elizabeth x #44
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to find out about your tumor, but glad to know it was "benign." Your strength and positive attitude as you face the symptoms and upcoming surgery are inspirational to me. Good luck with your upcoming workshop, and I will keep you in my prayers, my friend.
ReplyDeleteSo we have a desk in the planning stages today. I can get behind that, even if it means seeing wood on your desk which I don't really remember seeing so much of in the past. Now I'm off to clean my own and see some other desk. Take care!
ReplyDeleteAngie #48
It is funny how we have the cycle - clean it up and mess it up. Clean it up and mess it up. LOL.
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned the item hanging in my side desk picture. I assume you mean the wind sock my niece made for me. My house is full of hand made gifts from Chloe and Myah. They are such artists. :-)

Hello Julia - your desk always looks interesting no matter what!!! I have to say I admire your spirit - carrying on with worshops etc. I'm sure I'd be a wreck. Willing the powers to be to give you an appointment soon and I know that you will be up and at em afterwards!!!! Best Wishes Anne x #50
ReplyDeleteJulia, your upbeat approach here - in spite of your health situation - is inspirational. Thank you for pulling WOYWW together each week - I love dropping in and prowling desks which, without you, I'd never have been able to snoop! High five to Jan, your girl Friday (should that be girl Wednesday?) and I wish you the very best. Happy crafting, Max #49 :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your neat and tidy space today Julia. I am always envious of your window..I miss mine - still even after 3 years! I LOVE glass mats, but I am such a butter fingers Hubby asked me to stop using mine..sob. Take care of yourself. Cx #51
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are ready for that round of cardmaking! Goodness, I need to make cards, as well--but it would take one of your workshops to get me to do it in a timely manner . . .
ReplyDeleteA big woyww hug for you, Miss Julia!

Good morning, Miss Julia. Good to see you keeping busy. Thanks for clarifying the purple cards. I thought it might be a new journal. Okay, desk is way too tidy. Look forward to seeing how you mess it up! :-) Creative Blessings! Kelly #53
ReplyDeleteJulia, it was quite a shock to see such a tidy desk, wondered what you were up to, pleased to hear you are still crafting, I'm sure it will soon be back to normal.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend
Jan. No 43
Happy WOYWW - and a gentle hug. I hope your wait for surgery is not too long. Otherwise, words fail me (as usual - my mind often goes blank nowadays!). My deckchair is permanently in use for holding the envelope with details for my business expenditure and a few select photos/crafty items bought from Etsy. Bought a smaller plastic holder for my phone, as I am still not the owner of an IPad (hubby is not taking the hint). Ali x #57
ReplyDeleteI hope that everything gets worked out soon. We'll all be around when you feel like posting!
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks raring to go this week. Can't wait to see after the workshop is over.
Take care

I've been a bit out of the blogging loop recently so went back to read your previous post. What a lovely lot your readers are. You know you have my support too, for what it's worth.
ReplyDeleteYou have created a wonderful community of crafters and a unique place to share. May you recover fully - everyone I aqm sure supports you through thoughts and prayers. All the best Julia.
ReplyDeleteI fell asleep before you posted and then just now realized I haven't said anything here lol ... you space is looking very tidy to me and don't know what glazing tape is we must call it a different name over here. I think double sided tape is like scissors you really don't know how many you really own till you group them all together. I just found some stashed that I forgot about and now have more then I thought so I guess every card I make will get decorated inside too lol
ReplyDeleteSending hugs to you

A lovely tidy desk - just ready for when you feel like a little bit of crafty therapy.
ReplyDeleteBernice #20
Hi there Julia, I'm sorry to hear you're going through the mill at the moment, but great that you have the right attitude.Take care of yourself and stay positive.x
ReplyDeleteVery impressed with how tidy that desk is. It might just put me on such a guilt trip that I will start cleaning.
ReplyDeleteSending you lots of love and prayers. Hope all your health issues get sorted soon.
Happy WOYWW!
Tertia #60
I think, this could be the cleanest I have ever seen your desk published as actually. so, it is different from last week without the work things going on right? :)
ReplyDelete~Stacy #55
Best wishes whilst you are feeling so poorly. I hope the time will pass quickly until you can have your operation. Sending you hugs Ali xx
ReplyDeleteLooks a lot like my workdesk actually! Nothing wrong with a little bit of clutter really. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHope your feeling better soon. Thank you for letting me join this wonderful group... love the inspiration here. Happy { and safe } Easter to all of you!
