I really scored with these. I got them in the Sizzix Mega Sale which as far as I can tell is a permanent thing to get rid of the 'older' stuff. Suits me. This collection of dies and stamps came to a combined total of less than £20 and is certainly worth twice that for sure. The real 'score' though is that I actually wanted them - they've all been at some point on my wish list. Cool.
But, there's always something that will wipe the smug smile off my face. And this time it's this:
'Bliss' is a word I use quite a lot. especially to comment on holiday photos, fabulous views, happiness, etc. So I jumped at the chance of owning the die for £2.48. I noted that it was a Bigz die, which means it's one of the thick ones. What I didn't take in is the 'XL' bit. And of course..there ain't no card I ever make that needs a 12" wide word on it. Or scrapbook page, come to think of it. Definitely the mistake purchase of the year.It goes a long way to quashing the hubris, huh!
Joining Annie at her weekly Smile, in spirit if not reality - will be travelling today so no chance of linking or visiting!
Awesome I gave about that much for just the TimHoltz set I see there from last year! Congrats on a great buy!
ReplyDeleteOh to have so much bliss that it wont all fit on one page my friend.....no wonder you're smiling :-)
ReplyDeletehave a great week.
Hugs,
Annie x
You've got some goodies there Julia. I seem to spend a fortune in the ongoing Sizzix sale but you just have to don't you. Bargains all the way.
ReplyDeleteI remember back in the 60s there was a chocolate confectionery bar called "bliss" that was delicious!
Have a good weekend. Barbxx
Sounds like a great sale. Wonder if it's in the US, too.
ReplyDeleteFrom the looks of it, that die can be split among the letters. I'm sure you'll find uses for it, even if they are not cards or scrapbook pages. Buntings come to mind, which would fill an entire workshop, I'm sure.
So glad you got the dies you wanted and one you will find a use for once the buyer's remorse has worn off!
Hope your travels take you to fun and interesting locations.
12 inches of Bliss! Well I don't know what to say! You certainly made me smile today - though probably not in the way you intended - lol. x Jo
ReplyDeleteWonderful collection of goodies Julia - even the XL 'Bliss'.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will find a jolly good use for it.
Toni xx
Ahhh the devil is in the detail my friend. I bet if you cut some for the crop they would go though!! You could always cut it out of vinyl and make a sticker for the loo!! LOL!! You know that feeling!!

surely thats as good an excuse as any to buy an A4 bigshot ;) i have one love it :D
ReplyDeleteAlright Ms Enabler! I see a Christmas set I've gotta have! Yea, that smug smile was so big it blocked out the XL in the description huh?! :) smiling with ya! Hugs
ReplyDeleteWell done!! very impressive. I have bought stuff from the sale before but not really used it much -they are lovely silly prices aren't they? So glad you actually wanted them too and the ones you have got look fab! Soojay x
ReplyDeleteBy the time I a made my mind up about something, be it fashion, hairstyles, rubber stamps or dies I am aways way behind everyone else. Works in my favour though - things are often in the sale by then. Enjoy !
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet xx
Wow! That was good value! Well done you!
ReplyDeleteI did smile at the 'Bliss'. You'll have to give it to someone who does scrapbooking (12x12) It will certainly fit on a layout.
Have a good smily Friday,
Lisca
I deliberately didn't look at the mega sale this time when the emails came through... hope you find a use for your "bliss" soon, but not sure what it may be.. at least it wasn't a costly mistake!
ReplyDeletesend Suzanne and email saying you would love a Quietfire "Bliss" die.
ReplyDeleteNever hurts to ask!!
Been drooling over your new stash:) You could always sell the Bliss die, or just make much bigger cards:)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend. Sue
Good for you for getting just what you wanted from the sale pile. As my hubby would say, "That's some great shit!" As for the jumbo bliss... Ah, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that doesn't think these purchases all the way through. I'm on such a strict budget now that you'd think I'd be extra, extra careful. Nope. I spent my whole wad on a Sizzix die of the USA... like all 50 states separately cut out. I have no clue what I would ever use it for and I don't think I like the idea of the USA as a puzzle! Oy vey!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant buy, Julia. I don't think it matters a scoobie if the new stash is the latest, trendiest stuff on the shelves, what matters is that it is new to you and you are going to have great fun making stuff with it. And 12" of Bliss - what can I say to that that wouldn't sound riske :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteYou should cut the bliss from shrink plastic, that would make it... 6 inch wide? :)
ReplyDeleteThat was a mistake indeed, but the cost was such that you can still smirk. ;-)
ReplyDeleteApril
Well, if it can't be a card, for sure you can make it into a sign! And all of us can use "Bliss" hanging about in as many places as possible! I still think it's something to swoon about! patsy
