What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 317

Well Deskers, I haven't lost form. Indeed, I may be in a panic of preparation..
When you go away, you often think when you get back, that everyone else's time has stood still, just as yours seems to on holiday. But the cruel truth is..it hasn't and some people are expecting you to deliver on promises. So here you see me attempting just that, and with no time to spare, shame on me.
For a workshop I eloquently entitled 'sketches and scraps'. Not a problem except when the potential is for 16 people to do the workshop. You kinda have to make sure you've got enough scraps in the same colour ways for all the cards to work. So here you see me rootling and deciding. My 6x6 pads naturally live in the scraps box. However beautiful they are and however much I can't resist buying them, they really are only of value for cutting up to make cards. Card blank sizes being what they are and all. You know.
And on my ipad stand still - Twiglets dumfed WOYWW anniversary card. I'm not ready to put away the collection of beauties that I received.
Now, if you need more information about this WOYWW thing follow THIS LINK. It contains another link that tells you how to join in. If you are ready, please, add your link so that fellow Deskers worldwide can visit and be inspired and inspiring. I thank you!

  1. Wow, 16 people truly IS a challenge. But I know you are up to the task, and we'll see a few results in the near future.

WOYWWendy and I want to thank you for allowing this post and Wendy is waving because she can't seem to sit still.

  3. WOW ...first ever, And I love the dumfed items Twiglet and Wipso make ! Just the sweetest "Little Treasures" I guess I don't see much of that crafty goodness in the states. Scraps! I have them organized by color and in file folders and I've used them much better that way. and within reach. Have a wonderful WOYWW day.

  4. Oh my...I have never been that low of a number on the list before. My lucky day :) I know what you mean about needing the matching things for multiple cards.. whether it is for a workshop or a swap. Seems the searching sometimes takes longer then the project itself.

I'm sure you'll find enough scraps... even if you have to cut up some big pieces to make them... ahem! Enjoy the end of your holiday xx

  19. Hi Julia...oh my, 16 packs wow I have enough trouble trying to decided on one card - lucky we do have those paper packs that are at least colour co-ordinated...then my problem is getting a plain cardstock to match. Love that dumfling Jo made she is so talented. Enjoy your week Cheers RobynO#28

  24. Beautiful ATC! 16 people!!!!! wow.....and after vacation to boot --- my head would refuse to cooperate to pull that off. It always takes me awhile to settle in after vacation. Different mindset, different world. Enjoy the workshop. I'm betting thet there will be lots of laughter and talk. Sounds good to me. :) Nann4 #38

  25. Oops, hope the workshop goes well.
I looked at the previous post as well and was impressed by DD's determination to make a shield. And a very good job she did indeed.
Your poppy card is gorgeous. If you have some tiny weeny little black beads, they would look good in the center too wouldn't they?
    Have a good week,

  26. I know exactly what you mean about coming back from vacations. Good luck catching up. Blessings!

  27. Good luck with your prep..and I know what you mean about the paper packs...mine are doing just that...stored safely uncut in a special box; 'cause I gotta have them. Maybe if they didn't discontinue the patterns so often???!!!

  28. Returning to reality after a vacation is never all that fun, especially when a deadline looms. You make me feel a little less guilty about my obsession for 6x6 pads, can't seems to ever pass them up! Diane #34

  30. Ugh, deadlines, who came up with those awful things? Although, for us procrastinators they seem to do the trick. You are a braver woman than I for taking on a workshop of 16.
Hope you are well rested from your lovely holiday!

  32. And yet in the midst of your "shame" is a desk full of cuteness and potential! Why are those 6X6 pads so irresistible? Maybe it's because they are not as demanding as a 12X12 pad, they don't cost much, and they're just as pretty. I'm very scrappy lately and I would sign up for your workshop in a minute! Hugs. 39. That really is an amazing ATC!I'd be loathe to put it away too. The cards for the workshop are off to a flying start! I love your tiny paper cutter. I'd love to buy a smaller one, but that's money not buying a stamp set lol.

  41. An early morning visit to your desk Julia, as the sun (and temperature) has not rose that high yet... I too love those scrap-blocks and cut op the paper to use the scraps in my art journal. 16 people in a workshop is a lot! Enjoy, stay cool, love from the Netherlands, Marit #25

  43. I didn't get around to posting this week, but stopping by to say "hi". I wish I could give you some of my scraps! I have drawers full! I should just toss them, would sure simplify my life! LOL

  44. Oh dear, Julia, I didn't stop to comment yesterday after blogging - slap my hand and must do better, especially as I haven't been around so much recently! Some scrappers use 6x6 pads for layouts but. like you, I still think of them as the perfect size for cardmaking. Twiglet is an ace dumfer and that ATC is gorgeous :) Hugs, Elizabeth x #43
