What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 239

New Year's Day edition!  Wow, the  planets aligned well for us this year!  Last year!  Wait, I don't know...but it worked nicely for Christmas and New Year's Day to be on a Wednesday. It's a good omen.  I'm sure.  Not an omen of tidiness though.  Or indeed, inspiration.

Taken at 4pm on Tuesday afternoon.  And untouched by human hand since then....except that I moved the ipad onto my lazy lap after supper.  There's some fab Kaiser 12" paper at left.  Hiding some other fab 12" papers that I bought in Christmas week and have just taken them out of the bag.  It may be another week before I put them away at this rate! The pile of stuff at right, topped with the christmas sticky tape is all work mail that arrived over the holiday.  I would not allow it to be opened; we had four straight days of a 'no work' policy, and so now it's waiting for my New Year attention.  Not the most interesting or exciting desk huh..but hey - you can at least rely on me on being consistent as the years change...particularly if like me, you find yourself becoming a bit change resistant. Argh.
So if you've got any better thing to show in terms of what and where you're working, do join us here - link your blog post and we'll try to visit.  Happy New Year.  Happy Same WOYWW.

  7. I think it's a fantastic idea to have the "no work" time. It's hard when you are your own boss, but it's necessary. Glad you enforced the rule.

Another year down. It's not as dramatic as the WOYWW anniversary, but it's pretty dramatic seeing all the time zones celebrate the new year.

Now it's time to wish you a healthy, stampy, scrappy, and joyous New Year and happy WOYWW from #5.

  18. Julia Happy New Year to you and your family and a big thank you for all you have done in bringing so many people together around the world, gosh you are the clever one.

As for lists I do believe a diary is a form of a list and I live by mine, I have no choice. As for business have some time off before you know it, you will be back to the hustle and bustle of the everyday life, so enjoy some down time. Sorry I didn't join in last week, working Christmas day and catering for the family sort of burnt me out. I do hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

  21. HNY, Julia and yes I agree falling on a Wed is definitely a good omen...my first post today for ages as I've been away and like you I have a pile of mail to open..it hasn't arrived yet as it's being held at the post office and I can't wait as it has ALL my Christmas cards - so my cards will be on display for at least another month. Cheers and all the best for the new year RobynO #31

  25. A very happy new year to you! Your inspiration will be back soon. I sometimes find myself trying to force an idea just for the sake of making something. I'll completely leave my desk along for a couple of days if that happens and I'll get stuck into non craft projects. When I return, I can usually get a couple of things knocked out in quick succession. The papers look delicious. Nom. All the best for the new year, Lucy #28 x

  44. Happy New Year, Julia! That paper *does* look nice. Sometimes it's nice to keep something lovely out to admire fully before putting it away with its friends. :) I'm glad you had some days with "no work" -- I've been off since 12/24 and am still off this week -- very rare that I take this much time at once. Unfortunately husband is away visiting his parents, so it's not quite as nice without him. I've got Gabi to keep me company and rile me up, too. lol Happiest of WOYWWs. ~ Laura the Bookworm

  47. Happy New Year and WOYWW. It is lovely to be slowly getting into some sort of routine. Hubby is still sitting watching rubbish tv most of the day, but I am determined to get busy, sell a lot of stash and concentrate on what I want to do in 2014. Must go out now in this horrible weather and feed ponies etc. That paper on your desk looks fab. Ali x. #58

  48. Beautiful Kaiser paper! You may not think your desk is tidier than normal but that was the first thing I noticed! It looks under control and nice and bright too. Gee, maybe it is just the lighting, but I think it looks like you are read to have a bit of a play.

  65. A bit change resistant! Describes me perfectly, Julia, but I thought that was the province of grumpy oldies like me, not whipper-snappers like yourself :) Lovely paper lying on the top of your desk - calls for a lot of stroking before actually using. Have a great week and a wonderful 2014. Hugs, Elizabeth x #79

I'm on a roll... right, not having a post to link up etc (HaviNG not written one in a while), im just aďmiring how organised your desk looks... it means business (well, at some point anyway) lol. Also, I can't believe how light it is at 4pm. It's not that light here (up north) at 4pm - not yet anyway. Love the DP btw. V pretty.

    Have a great day
