What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday

This is a wing and a prayer posting. The internet and cable tv provider that we use has made a mess of some new cable work. This means several vans dotted around the village, lots of head scratching by engineers and incredible frustration for I don't know how many customers who haven't had access to TV or internet services for 48 hours. Yawn. Meanwhile, thanks to my tarting some WiFi from Laura, here's my desk.

it's tidy! I was going to show you the before shot too, but to be honest, it may be a little too traumatic. Instead..enjoy with me the new gelli plate..the last time you'll see it clean, for sure. Got it from our Jennie at the Artistic Stamper. The other stuff is not very clear, but it may well scare you to know that it's Seasonal. Yep, with a capital S. Urgh. shopkeeper Gal made me, she wants Seasonal workshops - soon. join us then will you...assuming that scheduling and the Link list work. If it doesn't, ah well, it won't be for the nt of trying!

Well done for getting through to the world at large!
Thank you for your comment last week - I still can't take it in that someone thinks I'm patient.... I realise it means going the extra mile to get through to someone on webeden - thank you for being prepared to do that.

  25. No TV, no Internet - disaster! I forecast a baby boom in your neighbourhood - in about 9 months time. Thank goodness for WiFi or there would be no WOYWW either ... it would be life, Julia, but not as we know it! Hope all is sorted out soon but in the meantime have fun with the gelli plate, mess up your desk again, and show us what you make of it :) Hugs, Elizabeth x a miraculous #39

  26. That is seriously sneaky, Julia, posting so early, especially as I am so late finishing my post for this week. Hope you soon get your internet etc sorted properly. We now have the British Gas working their way up our road, creating mayhem as they go. I fully expect them to cut our cables at any time. Have a good week (I am off to bed now to see if I can actually sleep tonight.) xxx

  27. You caught me with my big girl pants down. Actually, I was at my neighbor's helping clean her kitchen. Back home, I didn't even think about things until I noticed Voodoo Vixen had people who had visited who left numbers. Dread set in, as I realized I would be far, far down the list this week (grin).

Sorry about your internet. It's good to have a friend who has WiFi, though.

Had to look. I'm a very, very late 42 this week.

    ReplyDelete
  28. hmm, not sure about gelli plates, but i did like your layout from last week. Did you get it finished? I might actually get a chance to play this week.

technology is great for us when it is working but once there is a problem we forget how to use any of the old stuff (pencil & paper)
That is a lovely tidy desk you have there and I am looking forward to your gelli plate backgrounds.
Sending big hugs for WOYWW and hoping you enjoy the rest of your week

  33. Wow, it's not often I can post before lunch on a wednesday. I didn't finish my drawing, so you get what you get :) Bummer about the internet but typical though. Very nice of Laura to let you pilfer her internet. I keep seeing these gelli plates around, they look like fun, but seasonal things, seriously, ouch. Don't want to go there, although it feels cold enough to snow here.
Have a great week and mess that desk up, it looks obscene!!!

  45. Sorry to hear of all the troubles with the internet. At least there are guys around looking into it, last Summer we had enormous troubles but as it was just us it took weeks of phone calls to get them to even go to the exchange where the problem lay!
I bought some Christmas papers this week too but it hasn't got me doing anything with them yet, far too hot. BJ#74

  53. Happily, you got a post up. My internet kept going out on me, the cable wires ti the house were rotting. They had to replace them. I noticed your buttons are much like rabbits and reproduce quickly. Your jar is chuck full. Do you buy them in bulk? I have an 8x10 Gelli. I really need the size you have. Gelli prints are so cool looking, but I don't do well creating them. Maybe I need a class, that way I can LOVE my plate. I'm only in LIKE with it right now. Have fun with yours. (((HUGS)))

  65. Thanks for the congrats message. We had a great day in the lakes - well, not actually IN the lakes, but you know what I mean! Sorry about your internet connection. Computers are a bit like cars - their great, until they go wrong, then they are a pain. I've just been watching a 'how to' dvd on using Atelier Interactive Acrylics, which played fine on my PC, but now I can't watch any You Tube videos! Don't know if the two things are connected - ah well, just something else to distract from art and craft. Have a happy WOYWW. john-w #35

  66. Oh my goodness--really, there are not many things worse than losing the TV and the computer. I have to say, technology kinda drives me crazy sometimes...it always goes down or something breaks. And when our TVs go out...we have DirectTV dish...it could be the dish, it could be something gone wrong with the flat screen, or the DVR. Ah! When I was young you just turned the TV off and on. Of course, we only had three channels...and we wouldn't have our lovely blogs and be able to have friends across the pond without technology mostly...I just keep remembering that.
