My sweet Mama sighed 'well Christmas just came and went' when we were talking about the New Year. And I was feeling the same about New Year yesterday when I finally gathered the last of the Christmas stuff to put away...Twelfth Night includes getting a new frock on for the blog too - did you even notice?! So to sweeten the transition into the reality of the New Year phrase wearing a bit thin and the working month really getting underway in a very earnest and resigned sort of way, I'd like to share the happiest mail I've received since the beginning of December. I am flummoxed by the generosity and time taken to include me in Christmas card making lists and postings.

Now don't tell me that you aren't cheered by the sight of such lovely artistry. Thank you, they have glittered and twinkled in my line of vision for the better part of a lovely month.
Now, there's the forward thinking stuff to be done. Do you fancy a date for your diary? Do you live in the UK? (Although of course, this is not to prevent you, as proved last time....). Fancy meeting some WOYWWers this year? Saturday, 1st June. WOYWW Crop. Loads more...but you can't say we aren't giving you notice. And shutting up one or two of you really really awful-at-droppping-hints-people!
I think it just says what a special person you are and I have to ask, what do you do with them now? I can't throw hand made cards away, it seems a crime so wondered what others did.
ReplyDeleteJune eh? Bum. I will be in Oz... typical, bloomin' typical... LOL
What a gorgeous collection on special cards you had Julia.....just goes to show how much you are loved.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
A x

OH NOOOOOOO! Ist of June is my 'every other year' school reunion :(( It's at Southampton this year - we move around lest we become too well known - can I sneak away? I think not unless I bring three others with me - one in the front seat, one in the boot and the other on the roof. I DO NOI believe it as Victor Meldrew would say........sobbing here in disbelief - out of 52 Saturdays, why THAT one :(( Di xx Bwahahahahaha :((((
ReplyDeleteYes! Hints dropped and taken!
ReplyDeleteIn diary!

I'm afraid ur new frock isn't visible in google reader or apparently on this odd 'mobile' version my kindle has now brought me to...so I do appreciate it when you point it out so I can make an effort to visit the real deal. I'm wondering if this announcement means u rnt coming to the NEC? I know it only seems two mins since the last one but the flyers have already been sent out...
ReplyDeleteYou are well-loved, Julia, and rightly so. And I ADORE your new plaid-of-many-colors frocket!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I don't celebrate 12th night, because I had my Christmas stuff put away before New Year's eve. You got some lovely cards, and you deserve them. Really!!

ReplyDeleteI'm a count me in! 2013 is going to be full of adventures year for us and I'm sure a day organised by you will be one unique adventure that I surely can't miss lol x
ReplyDeleteLovely selection of cards Julia
ReplyDelete- people are showing their appreciation to you through their cards.
I save everything I get sent - I put them in jiffy bags and write on them what the ocassions was. They're all safe (hopefully) in the garage now. Trouble is, I've saved everything the boys have recieved since they were born - and now they;re 19 and 16 (a lot of cards - a lot of space needed to store them), so in their respective jiffy bags, they're currently in the loft of the garage. Am I really such a hoarder? You can't throw away things that people have sent you though can you? Well, I can't. Too sentimental.
hugs

Gorgeous selection of cards. I will put 1st June in the diary. I will either come up by myself and stay for 1 or 2 nights to rest up, or hubby can come as well with the caravan. Ali x
ReplyDeleteLove the new look on the blog very cheery and colourful.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing collection of cards you are one lucky lady, you deserve them all.
Eliza
Totally beautiful collection - well deserved too! Thanks for keeping us all on the straight and narrow through the last year Julia. Ha ha - well at least you tried - some of us will never be straight or narrow!! Apologies for our WOYWW advert tomorrow but we wanted our blog buddies to have an early chance with the bargains. x Jo
ReplyDeleteSaturday June 1st is going in my diary for sure. Plenty of time for subtle hints/ good reasons to visit the area to be dropped to the Beloved Husband :) .Hugs Shaz
ReplyDeleteAww you lucky bunny - best send me your address so I can add to the bundle this year. BJ
ReplyDeleteHello Julia,
ReplyDeleteOh my, I must check airfare quickly! Where would one fly into? If only it could be.....
I noticed your background straight away - it cheered me up. Then seeing all the lovely cards you received really gave me something to smile about.

Yep! I spotted the tartan....Not sure which tartan that would be! Maybe a modern clan - The Clan of Blogger maybe?
ReplyDeleteYep!! 1st June I am in - yippee!!!
I do so love handmade cards and they get top spot of the bay window and get packed away safely. Though this year I am going to do a scrapbook layout with a pocket to put them in!

ReplyDeleteI noticed the new blog dress right away....very nice! And what fun cards. Sadly this is the year of frugality....after the year of building the house and spending like a drunken sailor so I won't be joining you all on the 1st of June, but I absolutely LOVE my button and have it proudly displayed on my work table.
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteYour post reminds me that your card and Jan's are still sat here. Unmade.
Shame upon my soul.........
